Arrived at this hotel between 10/11pm. Man on reception appeared friendly, commenting on my partners designer watch and sunglasses. Taken to our room which hadn’t been cleaned, directed to the bar which was closed but we were served by 2 young Lithuanians who chatted with us and gave us a bottle of vodka as a “welcome gift”. We left our luggage at the second room and went along the road to the Butterfly bar for something to eat and some drinks. We returned to hotel a couple of hours later. I got into bed, my partner realised we had left our cigarettes at the Butterfly Bar and went back to get them. What happened after was horrific. I was woken in the early hours with him running into the room in a panic he was covered in blood, bruises and slash marks. He has been beaten up outside of the hotel by the manager, receptionist and another male accusing him of stealing alcohol. His watch, sunglasses and wallet with £500 were taken. He had been held hostage with his trainer laces tied up and ran when he came to consciousness with someone cutting the laces free. He fled our room terrified and distressed. The hotel manager came to the room and told me he had been taken into police custody for assaulting staff which was a lie as there is no record of him being in custody. I was handed his watch and wallet empty of our money. They took me and our unpacked case to a room in a building down the road. I fled there to a car hire company who called the police, meanwhile my partner had been helped by a Greek family. We were both pursued by hotel staff and have photos of us being followed. We have pursued legal action with the help of the consulate. The hotel lied to our travel company and the police saying my partner had beaten me, it was reported by other guests and our room was destroyed. This is categorically untrue, the police confirmed I had not been assaulted and we have videos of problems in our room from the short time we were there that evidenced no damage and we hadn’t even unpacked. We flew home the next day after staying in another hotel far away. My partner had a broken jaw, cracked ribs, damaged knee and severe bruising all over his body. The hotel is ran by opportunistic violent men who all lie with the same story. Between this holiday, replacement hotel for 1 night and flights home it cost us around £3,500 to be injured, traumatised and spend 1 night in Corfu. If you spend time going through reviews you will find others mentioning the aggressive manager and his staff. As with other reviews we fully expect a sarcastic reply full of lies! Avoid this hotel at all costs, irrespective of what happened to us it is lucky if it warrants 2 stars due to the condition of the hotel and the facilities. We are pursuing a legal claim and will be going to the media, if anyone else has had an experience similar please message me on here.
