While the staff at reception was very nice, that's about the only nice thing we can say about our experience at this hotel. We stayed in room 19 which backed onto an open space filled with very loud pidgeons that make noise day and night. Since there is no air-conditioning in the room, we had to leave the windows open (quite hot in Arles during our stay) which exacerbated the pidgeon noise and let bugs in as well. There is a ceiling fan that made a loud buzzing noise contributing further to us not being able to sleep well during our stay. We shared this information with the staff who acknowledged and validated these problems so they should not be surprised by this review. Another issue was using the hairdryer affected the rest of the lights in the room. Lastly, for this type of hotel, the breakfast buffet was quite average. All in all,definitely not worth it!

Despite some other comments this was very easy to find, a stones throw from the arena & theatre , down the hill to the Hotel du Ville shops etc. Hotel decor is different but we liked it room was large bed was comfortable & the shower was excellent. we had only planned 2 nights in Arles but we were so taken with the place that we booked in for an extra night , ALL the staff were helpful & very polite . The only thing that stops this being a 5 star rating was the lack of aircon in the room - it was very hot even with the windows open

Great location for a romantic stay. Stayed 3 nights in this boutique hotel and had a great experience. The beds were very comfortable and the room was big and clean. The only downside was that there is no air conditioning so even in April the room would get a bit stuffy at night. A big ceiling fan really was helpful in this case but take this into consideration for summer. Breakfast was good, sort of buffet style but with limited choices of fruits but ok. Parking was provided close by with a discount rate.

Very nice stay in the hotel. We enjoyed breakfast, dinner and the hotel facilities and service. Location is fantastic, very close to the city center. The area is very quite. If you stay there on a Saturday, don’t miss the market … amazing!

Nice people, but the lack of air conditioning in the terrible heat made it almost impossible to sleep and the fans provided merely moved the air around but did not cool us! It's so extraordinary to have a hotel like this not have air-conditioning in the south of France that this fact needs to be displayed more prominently by the booking sites when we booked. We would never have come if we had known how unbearably hot the room would be.

Le Cloiître is a most beautiful hotel in the very romantic heart of the ancient city with excellent service and superb decoration. A dream of estaetics and cleaniness, I would recommend the hotel to every art amateur who likes to feel welcome and royal.

Hotel was darling and a treasure. What I was not prepared for, as an American, was to drag my luggage from a public parking structure a block away, up a hill over cobblestone streets, to get to the hotel. Once there, of course the staff helped move the luggage to my room. The room, my nun's cell, was delightful overlooking an old church and courtyard. Although the hotel notes "air conditioned" it is only a Dyson fan that I had and a slow moving ceiling fan. Incredible bathroom, towels (but why no wash cloths in Europe?), and a wonderful indoor dining room/lounge/study as well as a delightful outdoor dining area. Right in the heart of the old city, close to the LUMA Fondation and the Arles amphitheater, incredible ice cream, are all you need to make your trip to Arles a memorable one at Le Cloitre.

no air-conditioning! - temperature in room 32 degrees at night, even with two fans. I vistited 'les Rencontres' a Arles. The hotel looks beautiful, location is good, people are mostly friendly. They should buy mobile airconditioners! They also exist in beautiful designs

Hotel Le Cloitre exceeded our expectations and we recommend it for an enjoyable quiet stay in Arles. We found the staff was great; they responded to our emails addressing all of our questions. They arranged train pickup, recommendations for restaurants, along with address other requests we had. They always appeared to be interested in making certain we were enjoying our trip. Hotel location was great; easy walking distance to attractions. Room was very good. We had a junior suite. It was clean, large, and quiet. Breakfast was the standard French breakfast; pastries, meats, cheeses, hard boiled egg, etc. While the hotel is not a 5 star hotel; it is a great hotel and we would use it again the next time we are in the region.
