Athens Golden City Hotel

At first glance the hotel looked welcoming, room comfortable, reception staff very friendly, polite and helpful, however Wifi didn't work for 3 days, they offered conference room...for pre-booked meeting, Slow in repairing..Restaurant staff unfriendly and rude. Bad weather and location of hotel resulted in having to get taxis everywhere apart from 2 days when taxis were on strike as no good restaurants nearby..Not safe for women walking alone at night Would not recommend..

The hotel was really nice and right on the main road close to two metro stations at very walkable distance. They provided me with 7th floor road facing balcony room on request which was perfect for me. The room was clean with a fridge and a smart tv. There was issue with wifi on the first 2 days but they provided with a greek sim for use. The breakfast with a view was plentiful though they exactly close at 10am but you can sit with your stuffs longer and enjoy the food. They even provided all sorts of toiletteries including lotion. For the discounted price I paid, the stay was beyond expectation. The ac in the room worked great. The bed was comfortable. I personally did not face any safety issues coming back to the hotel even at 10.30pm.

Great value for money, daily room cleaning is quite good, even around environment have been widely complained, but it’s okay for the people who don’t carry heavy luggage. A few steps can arrive some very traditional street food bars. And don’t expect much for the roof view lol

The rooms were clean. The bed was soft and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and nice. The location is not very good for early morning/ evening walking around
