Great
WW. JinHygiene: Very good.
Facilities: A mix of new and old, it's renovated, but just okay. No conditioner or lotion provided.
Service: Since we arrived from Singapore by cruise, we got to the hotel around 9 AM. We dropped off our luggage and went for a walk. It was incredibly hot, so by 12 PM, after sightseeing and eating, we returned to the hotel and asked if we could check in early. They refused... At around 1 PM, our little one really needed a nap, so we asked again and finally got a room. Sigh. Compliant with rules but not very empathetic. The service industry really needs a bit more human touch. The concierge, however, was excellent.
Environment: The swimming pool is clean, but it gets direct afternoon sun and closes exactly at 7 PM. Breakfast is good, but if you absolutely need Chinese food, you might consider skipping it and heading to the tea restaurant about 15 meters to the left of the hotel entrance, which is a better option. One side of the hotel faces the sea, and the other faces the Malacca River bay, both are nice views.
JJingguliangStaying at Holiday Inn Malacca's sea-view room and falling asleep to the sight of the Malacca Strait was my biggest wish for this trip, and I'm so grateful I finally got to experience my dream Malacca! Malacca's old town is quite small, and every day we took taxis to get around the same few streets. We also visited Ole-Ole Malacca, which is close to the hotel, and the market in front of Dataran Pahlawan. Every day we'd wake up naturally, enjoy the hotel breakfast, and then head out to explore. We tried coconut durian chicken rice and Nyonya cuisine. If we bought something in between, we'd just take a taxi back to the hotel to drop it off before going out again – it was simply delightful! The hotel is actually very close to the Straits Mosque; you can see it from the room, and it's just a ten-minute taxi ride away. The Red Square and Jonker Street are also within walking distance, but it's definitely more convenient to take a taxi if you're with elderly people or children!
We specifically chose to spend Chinese New Year's Eve with my parents in Malacca, and it truly was an unforgettable New Year! The Year of the Horse in Malacca – what an incredible serendipity! We watched the fireworks in Malacca on New Year's Eve, and on New Year's Day, we saw the hotel's high-pole lion dance. We even received a red envelope (lai see) and good wishes for prosperity from the hotel. Thank you, I've kept them as treasures! Malacca is indeed small, but I genuinely felt so much joy here! I will miss you, and thank you, Holiday Inn Malacca, for giving my parents and me such an unforgettable and joyful New Year.

CChai JingBooked the suite and room was really big. Came with 2 queen beds and had a separate work area big enough for meals and activities 😅
Room was clean and look well maintained. No stains or whatsoever. Very pleasant stay. The hotel staff were helpful and prompt in service. We asked to clean up the room and left for breakfast immediately after. When we returned the room was all made up, neat and tidy.
Breakfast was decent. Do note though, that the take-your-own-food buffet style became semi ala carte buffet because there were not enough guests while I was there. Still, it was good enough.
Kids wanted to swim but the pool was a little too tiny for our liking. We did activities outside of the hotel though so not much of an issue.
Location wise. If you want something right next to malls or in the heart of the jonker area, this is probably not your best choice. We take a 10 min walk to the jonker area and it was a comfortable stroll though. Quiet enough but not too near.
Overall a good stay and very happy to return.

GGuest User⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Service & Honest Staff – Truly Appreciated!
We stayed at The Shore Hotel on 15/2/2026 and had a very pleasant experience. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The location is also very convenient, especially for exploring Melaka.
What impressed us the most was the honesty and professionalism of the hotel staff. My wife accidentally left an ang pow with RM500 under the pillow after we checked out. We only realised it later and immediately contacted the hotel. The team responded promptly, conducted their checks, and successfully located the money.
They even arranged for the RM500 to be safely banked into my account. We are truly grateful for their integrity and efficiency. It speaks volumes about the management and the quality of their staff.
Thank you to the team at The Shore Hotel for going the extra mile. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Melaka!

SSYUKRI MORTAZAA very meaningful experience for us and the kids. The children were very satisfied. The air conditioning was cold, and the shower in the bathroom had multiple functions. The swimming pool was spacious and not too deep. The kids' pool was very comfortable.

DDwaynismeStayed here and overall it was a mixed experience. The hotel is old, but I have to give credit to the housekeeping team as the cleanliness is well maintained throughout the stay.
The location is not the most strategic, but still manageable. It is within walking distance to Jonker Street and several tourist attractions like A Famosa, Stadthuys, Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum, and the Melaka Ship Museum, which is quite convenient for sightseeing.
However, there were a few downsides. We booked a king size bed but ended up with two single beds combined. Unfortunately, one of the beds had a faulty spring, which caused some discomfort during sleep.
In terms of pricing, it feels slightly on the higher side considering the condition of the hotel and the issues experienced.
Overall, acceptable for a short stay, but there is definitely room for improvement, especially in room quality and value for money.

AAnonymous UserThere is a coach station at this hotel, convenient for travellers. Our room was available for early check-in at 12pm, allowed us to drop-off our bags and start exploring Malacca. The room size is decent for 2, relatively clean, the bed is comfortable. Some areas with minor torn wall paper, some stains on the edges of tiles in the bath room but not too much a concern considering the room rates compared to newer hotels.
GGuest UserWe stayed here with my wife and our 2-year-old and overall the apartment itself was excellent. It was immaculate, smelled fresh, and everything worked properly. There were plenty of extra blankets and pillows, which was really appreciated as a family.
The host’s communication was clear and helpful from start to finish, and the security staff were genuinely warm and welcoming.
That said, the building has some issues that affected our stay. The kids’ play area on the 13th floor was under maintenance/works during our visit, so we couldn’t use it. The bigger problem was the elevators — they’re insufficient for the building, and we had a long wait (around 30 minutes) just to get down to the ground floor.
One small suggestion for the unit: it would be nice to have a couple of complimentary bottled waters on arrival.
If you’re booking, the suite and host are great — just be prepared for potential elevator delays and check the status of shared facilities.

LLee Oi KengCleanliness and location is good, very near Jonker street. Cons are security wise needs improvement cos anyone can just walk in and especially in the early morning when we came down, the Indian guy was sleeping at the counter and I doubt he knows who went in and out. The room is very spacious but they should provide at leastt a small piece of soap for hand washing. When we arrived at the hotel at about 1pm, since the rooms are available, why can't they just let us check in instead of having to wait till 3pm ( we heard there were less than 10 rooms occupied that night). I was abit unlucky cos 1st room issued to us was a room under maintenance, 2nd room given to us only has a towel and 1 cup for 2 pax in the room and the toilet flushing system broke down in the middle of the night, phone out of order and I had to climb up and down the stairs numerous times to ask for things. No lifts in the hotel.
