The location was OK, near some of the bars etc, the hotel offers pool, gym and sauna but these are only available 10-6, so if uou arrive late and leave early you can't use them. Staff seemed a bit stuffy to be honest, but probably sick of British tourists. The breakfast was the highlight lots of options. We had a room with a view of a building site and the workman using circular saws thankfully woke me up at 9am. Not great but for this area probably priced about right.

The hotel is on a hill, you can go out the back of the hotel but there is a few steps to navigate. The place is clean and the rooms are nice. The meals are average, they are typical of what these types of hotels are serving to their guests now. The breakfast is probably best meal of the day. I am half board, would not come all-inclusive as the bar service is so slow no rush. I waited the other night 15 minutes to be served and there was only two people in front of me and I was paying for the drinks. So I would either come half board or self catering not worth paying the extra unless you get a good deal. Plenty of good bars and restaurants around the area and they are good value for money. The pool is not open to 10 am and closes about 18:00. If you want a good sunbed you have to que which I refuse to do. I really hate that, I can understand why they do it to stop ****** putting their towels on the sunbeds at 3 am and then going back to bed. The staff are friendly but overworked I would hate to come in July and August as I could imagine it been packed out. The building work across the road is not as bad as some of the reviews I have read. Just request a pool side room if you want to make sure you don't get disturbed in the morning. To be honest I have had no issues with noise. Nice hotel you will have a good time if you have booked here no major issues. But if I was to come back again to Costa Del Sol I would try a different hotel. The only negative thing I can say about coming here is the airport we had to que on arrival for over two and half hours to get through passport control ques were a mile long. I can see why there have been reports of people collapsing while waiting to get through passport control. July and August will be a nightmare if they don't get that sorted quickly. If passport control is not sorted I would look to book somewhere else in Spain or Europe.

Where to start? We are now home after a 7 night stay at this hotel through Jet2. I have to agree with all the recent negative reviews - this hotel was a major disappointment. First of all, the wrist bands. My only experience of wrist bands is for all inclusive holidays, not half board. So you can either load up your wristband with cash when you arrive or pay for drinks etc by card because this hotel is cashless. The wristband also gives you access to your room (good luck with that). The room: small is an understatement. In order for both of us to pass each other inside the room we had to step aside to let the other one pass! Insufficient storage for a couple. We had two very shallow drawers inside the wardrobe. That's it, and we were there for a week. There were no hooks on the back of doors or anywhere else in the room, so we had to use our imagination and use our giant towel pegs to hang things on. The bathroom didn't have any shelves, cupboards or hangers to place anything - just a single hook for your towels. Although the bathroom was a reasonable size the layout was wrong. The wash basin and the loo were so close together that you have to sit sideways on the loo. I was astonished that a 4 star hotel provided plastic party cups that were so flimsy they fell over when used. Seriously? So, nowhere to store your toothbrush and toothpaste and definitely not suitable for your nightcap on the balcony. Also, why do hotels never place mirrors near an electrical socket? We don't all want to use the hopeless little hairdryer attached to the wall in the bathroom. The restaurant: put it this way, I came home weighing less than I went away. Boring and bland does not cover the food. One exception was the pizza on offer which was incredibly salty. No variety - the same cheap cuts of meat, poor quality veg which was either undercooked or overcooked. Even the desserts were awful. The cheese selection was the same every evening and consisted of one blue cheese, Brie and a Manchego alternative. Breakfast was much better with little to complain about. The juice was not fresh but concentrated and watered down a lot. The fruit on offer was mostly melon, melon and melon. Anything else didn't look appetising. If you want a drink with your meal you wait until a waiter is available to come to your table and take your order. That's if he/she is not already running around collecting plates and setting tables, too. If you're placed on a table out of a waiter's direct line of sight forget getting any drinks. The bar: just one long queue. Bar staff clearly not happy in their work - don't blame them, there's frequently only one person on each shift and every transaction is done via a handheld piece of equipment which takes absolutely ages. I'm not sure if we paid the same price for the same round twice either. No table service for a 4 star hotel. The safe in the room: pay E3.50 per day for hire. Service at the bar/snack bar is terrible, sometimes waiting 20/25 minutes to be served, having to wait to be seated on entering the restaurant and be seated to close to people.The electronic wristband system is an absolute joke having to be scanned every time you want food from the snack bar or getting a drink from the bar.If you want to spend half your holiday in a queue this is for you.

The hotel was in a good location, we paid extra for a garden pool view to avoid the building work but we were put in a room with our bedroom facing the site the noise started at 7.45 on some days it was horrendous, The bars on a night and at the pool during the day had considerable queues sometimes 15 plus people waiting ,service in restaurant was poor waiting in queues to be seated then you were sitting to close to other people as it is very small , the bottom door to marina wasn't working which meant a large hill to climb ,the wristbands are chipped and didn't work sometimes I would definitely avoid this hotel we informed the jet2 rep

Here at the moment at the recommendation of my jnlaws (they haven’t been since 2022) and it simply does not live up to the standard of one of its neighbours (MAC Puerto) which is also a 4* hotel. A 4* hotel does not serve the cheapest of the cheap undrinkable orange juice at breakfast in addition to several dirty items of cups and plates that we had to discard this morning before we found clean and non damaged ones. Aside from that breakfast is passable but thankful we’re not half board. The room is ok, but seriously, who puts plastic cups in the room which are so flimsy as soon as you pore water into them they practically keel over. It’s Wednesday, we discarded our original plastic cups on Monday morning and as yet they haven’t been replaced so we had to relieve the dining room of two glasses earlier today. Storage space is fine for us and there’s also usb charging ports by the bed. The balcony is enough for two people and we have a partial view over the pool/gardens but when my husband sits on the toilet his knees touch the underside of the sink. Our shower is ok but water comes out of the tap at the same time as coming out of the shower hose. I don’t usually write reviews of places until I return home but we returned from a day trip today to find that instead of the maid having put my sleep T-shirt under the pillow, it was scrunched into a ball on the bed head (pic attached) ! Who does that? In addition, the wristband entry to room, dining room and also the bottom gate to the marina is an absolutely appalling system. We’ve had to have our wristbands charged twice since Sunday and the bottom gate is a joke, we haven’t managed to get in once. The pool is ok but avoid the deeper end as we were in there yesterday and we noticed beige/brown scummy bubbles floating on the top and greenish scum on the tiles at the deep-end in addition to some algae forming. Also some of the sunbeds have seen better days. It can be quite noisy in the corridors in the early hours as there are some inconsiderate people around - bring ear plugs. My only comment on the staff is there isn’t much interaction or friendliness from them. Palmasols owners should go and stay at the Mac Puerto for a week - it’s like night and day. We won’t return here
