Front desk staff Nour was hospitable and professional. I loved the coffee I ordered to my room. This is a boutique style hotel that feels safe and supportive. I recommend it! ^^ (only suggestion: house wifi can be stronger)

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel and highly recommend it. The room was nice and modern with thoughtful extra touches. Service was excellent, always friendly and helpful. They handled special requests efficiently and gracefully, making the extra effort with a smile on several occasions. Only ate breakfast but the coffee was excellent and the breakfast was really nice with waited service with some healthy options. The neighborhood was charming, felt very safe and had some nice local restaurants to choose from.

We visited Berlin for a four day break and stayed at the New Berlin Hotel on the outskirts of Berlin. The hotel is ideally located for all the sights and the transport system makes it easy to get around. We stayed for 3 nights and the bedroom was huge and bathroom had a super shower. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and there was plenty of choice. The staff were very helpful and spoke good English. The only downside I could say was that the hotel is split into too halves between our room and reception but as we weren't in that much this didn't bother us.

Weird bed consisting of two single mattresses together, but very nice bathroom & mini-fridge -- also FYI the tv shows ONLY german programs and I am used to having at least ONE english news channel -- admittedly this is not a chain nor is it in the middle of the city, but otherwise it was fine. Proximity to the tram line was ACE, but the map provided by the hotel does not include the tram lines, I had to download the map on my phone,

Really easy to get to from the city centre, this hotel is a 3 minute walk from two different tram stops and five minutes from a train station. The bar and reception at the front were clean and tidy, we checked in and were pointed in the direction of our room (in the separate building across the courtyard at the back); literally "pointed"; "i'll show you to your room" became "it's over there" whilst standing in the back doorway. The room was large - double bedroom at one end, what could be described as a dressing room/study at the other end with a double wardrobe, desk, minibar; wetroom and a well-stocked room-with-a-sink (and hairdryer, mirrors, sewing kit, beauty kit and selection of lotions and potions). Bed was comfy and we both enjoyed a good night's sleep - the only minor issues we found were the wifi not working (we were told this on check-in) and the shower in the wetroom needs adjusting as it directs some of its flow towards the door which consequently floods the hallway unless a rudimentary "dam" is constructed with towels, Breakfast (served downstairs in the "building at the back") was lovely - a good selection of hot and cold served buffet style. In all, a really nice hotel, and we would stay here again. Stayed August 2016, booked as a package with Easyjet.

The classic rooms look just like the hotel pics. The staff was extremely friendly and willing to fulfill our requests. The hotel itself is a little outside the touristy area, but we walked 5 min to the tram and were in Alexanderplatz in less than 10 min. European shower without doors was interesting, but sometimes the bathroom floor got very wet. The breakfast was excellent: two types of eggs, yogurt, cereal, sausage, bacon, fruit, cold cuts... pretty much everything! Great coffee, comfy beds and quiet rest.

Everything great (especially staff). A block from streetcar. A few minutes to Alexanderlatz. Very cute room. The Restaunt service and food near exquisite. All except the WIFI. That's the only negative from a ten, Ten, TEN, T E N. BILL

The Newberlin hotel is in a residential area and will not give you a feeling of being where it all happens. This doesn't have to be a bad thing, depending on what you want. The receptionist was very welcoming upon arrival. I was a little surprised that I had to walk across a large courtyard to a second building to get to my room. This annex was very different from the pictures on-line. The hallway was dark and the room was not light and modern as I had expected. It was "retro" at best and didn't feel like a proper four-star room at all. My view was directly into a condemned building across another courtyard. The breakfast restaurant was in the annex, and the food an service here was good. There are outside seats as well as inside seating. I tried the sauna and relax-area which was much smaller than I had expected. The sauna itself was self serviced and I had to figure out the controls to make it work. The sauna was also quite small, so it's a good thing I was the only person there. I ate at the restaurant one evening. They had run out of my choice, but the steak sandwich I ended up with was very good and delicately prepared. The waiter was also very pleasant. Checkout went really fast.

I loved this hotel. When the hotel staff told me that I would be staying in the "other" building I initially shuddered--this is rarely good! But I was delighted that booking a "classic" room meant beautiful wood floors, high ceilings and gorgeous tall windows. The bathroom was completely updated and gorgeous. The best part of this hotel was the breakfast. On Sundays it's brunch which means free prosecco! I also enjoyed the salmon, cheese spread, and delicious breads (croissants and rolls were my favorites). On weekdays it's most of the same stuff just without the prosecco. The location is good and the staff is very helpful. The sound-proofing also seems terrific because it's in a bustling area and I was on the first floor and didn't hear any street noise. My only less-than-stellar experience was I felt that the beds were not very comfortable. That said, the blackout curtains worked really well. I'd definitely return to this hotel!

Very nice hotel, with a nice and friendly staff. Especially Alan and Pietro who did the extra to give good service. The hotel is close to tram line and s-bahn, as well as some cafes and a supermarket. All in all, a very good experience here. Would recommend.

Stayed for 6 nights. Room is a decent size, and generally the hotel is clean. You can get the M5 or M6 tram about a 5 minute walk away, which takes you straight to Alexanderplatz. A massive problem was the blaring sirens and traffic noise you’d hear in the room all day and night. 4 large windows so it’s a lot of glass windows/doors. Really nice and bright for the room but very noisy so I highly recommend earplugs if you stay here. The room air con wasn’t working properly, and we couldn’t figure out how to use it. Reception can control it but as it wasn’t workin, it was pretty pointless. So a hot room all night and no chance of opening the windows due to the noise outside meant a bit of a comfortable stay. They did provide a fan however, so that was certainly useful. Reception aren’t very clued up with general tourist queries and local knowledge. You’re better off using Google and finding recommendations yourself. We didn’t have breakfast included in our stay but decided to try it one morning. Every item on the menu is €15, including a basic bowl of porridge- which is ridiculous. Other things such as a full English is also the same price but it’s probably more justifiable. I ordered the full English without any meat, confirmed I was a vegetarian only. Unfortunately, toast had a slice of ham covered with cheese and eggs so I had to return and lost my appetite to order something else. I believe this was just an honest mistake, which can happen with anything. Coffee wasn’t great. I recommend a nearby cafe, Frau Honig, which had an excellent flat white and delicious breakfast. The bed/mattress itself (twin room, single bed x 2) wasn’t that comfortable and neither were the pillows. Beds were also not large single beds. Sauna was great, there were loungers inside and on the balcony which was very private. Towels and slippers in abundance, plus cold drinking water. Great to be able to relax every evening and it was very quiet. It’s just a sauna, no other spa facilities. This isn’t a local German sauna, but one for tourists so I would strongly advise against going commando. There is a Netto and Rewe supermarket close by which are very quick to walk to. The street lighting isn’t great walking up to the hotel from Rewe after sunset, so be wary. Unfortunately the lift wasn’t working practically every day; it was getting fixed daily so out of use at some point or other. Had to use the staircase maybe 4 or 5 times during the whole stay, so not ideal walking up to the 3rd or 6th floor for sauna! Especially for elderly visitors. Asked for a sewing kit as I needed some thread, which reception said they don’t have or provide. Later found a kit in the bathroom; quite lazy and unprofessional not to know something like this. Average hotel all in all but some things are great like sauna and location. I though the carpet was pretty cool, and loved the huge windows (altho the noise was deafening!) Gowns and slippers provided for sauna.

Upon check in I was told that the Air Conditioning was not working but they had placed a fan in the room. Staff were polite but were not very forthcoming with information i.e tram service, local attractions etc all they wanted to do was "sell" me breakfast each morning as I had booked on a room only rate. Bedroom was very dark but clean and comfortable, serviced daily Did not use bar or restaurant as there are plenty of other options nearby. Overall, it served it's purpose for the weekend as I was visiting friends in the area but would probably book somewhere "cheaper" in future as all I wanted was somewhere to sleep each evening.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I stayed here for one night to get sleep before leaving at 3.15am to get a flight. It was supposed to be purely for sleep between two days of business meetings. I checked in, the lady on reception insisted on knowing where I work. No idea why that’s their business??? Air conditioning didn’t work. The room was 27C and there was no way to cool it down. I went to reception and the lady seemed un bothered and just said ‘o yea the air conditioning doesn’t work in some of the rooms’. That’s not really ok. I opened the window and it was ok to a busy main road with cars, trams, sirens etc so no sleep. No problem. I’ll just iron my shirt and try and sleep. The room didn’t even have an iron. I called reception and asked for one and the lady brought an iron to my room. I asked if there was an ironing board to go with it and she said there wasn’t as they were all being used. So I’m summary, I stayed here for a business trip, had to iron my shirt kneeling down on the floor using their chair as an ironing board and they didn’t have the advertised air conditioning so I was roasting and couldn’t sleep. Worst stay ever. They shouldn’t advertise air conditioning on their website if they don’t have it. I would have stayed somewhere else. I went to look at the sauna which was grubby and dirty so unsurprisingly no one was using it. The city itself isn’t worth visiting if you’re going for personal reasons. Every single available surface is covered in graffiti, and there seems to be an attitude of firstly vandalism but then also not doing anything to clear it up from either the locals or the council.

Stayed here for 3 nights when visiting Berlin for the first time. Hotel was a little further out from the central tourist attractions than we anticipated, but the excellent Berlin public transport system prevented this from being a problem. Our room was a good size, clean and comfortable although the bathroom was a little tired. Staff were helpful and professional. We only stayed for breakfast but it was delicious! Would stay again.
