Hotel Istankoy Bodrum

Small family hotel right in the centre of Bodrum. Nice atmosphere friendly efficient restaurant and food 😋 delicious without being expensive.

The hotel is in a great location and near everything. The hotel is friendly and relaxed and lots of the guests are regulars and you can make friends easy here. Our room was small, dark and very dirty. The bathroom had not been cleaned when we arrived. Bed was clean (ish). Stayed in room 508 for 2 nights only before moving to a superior room (at an extra cost) which was much better! The smell of drains in 508 was sickening in the night !! The breakfast is repetitive but we ate, the omelettes are freshly cooked which is a nice touch. The hotel is in need of a full refurbishment, everything apart from the superior rooms is very tired and dated now. There is smoking everywhere, lots of coughing from lots of guests and the hotel staff chain smoking, it was like being in a drs waiting room with all the coughing. The bar and restaurant staff are lovely and do work hard. The restaurant food is actually quite good and we did eat here a few times. We enjoyed our holiday despite the negativity around our first room visiting gumbet, betiz and doing a boat trip. The pool has a jacuzzi but it hasn’t worked for two years apparently so maintenance is not a priority. Some broken sunbeds, I moved them to the back and the cleaners put them back complete with pigeon poop! Say no more, that’s without the parrot setting off at 6am thinking he’s a cat. There are lots of cats and we actually love that about this hotel and turkey generally.

The hotel is in a central location, everything is good, the breakfast is good, the pool is good, but there is a problem that it is very noisy at night, which reduces the quality of sleep.

This has been one of many visits to this hotel. As usual, the service is excellent, the food is divine and the accommodation is clean but basic. The hotel is central to the city and is hard to beat. The staff could not be more accommodating and helpful. I cannot praise this hotel more highly.

We're just back, Hotel Istankoy is a great hotel, avoid the poolside rooms if you dont want the bar noise, food was great at breakfast with a big selection offered....omelettes, scrambles and fried eggs with breads, meats and cheeses. The staff couldn't be friendlier and they will do anything they can to assist. Close to the sea front, restaurants and shops, 15 mins walk to the ferry to Kos. Ideal location for exploring, not many sunbeds but loads of hotels and bars let you use theirs for free.
