Staying at Mukelan hotel was such a special experience for our family. Nestled on the side of a tea mountain that faced a nearby village, it felt like we were suspended in the clouds and could truly unwind and slowly enjoy the peaceful, beautiful scenery all around us. A major reason our stay was so memorable was the staff. The staff, from the manager, to the driver, cleaners, cook, and tea connoisseur, made us feel truly welcome and well taken care of. Upon arrival to Xishuangbanna train station, we were picked up in a Mercedes-Benz van with leather seats and slippers to change into. When the hotel happened to be less busy for a couple days, the very thoughtful manager and tea connoisseur arranged an impromptu day trip for us based on our preferences. At the hotel, we loved the daily tea drinking sessions, where the wonderful connoisseur taught us many new things about pu’er tea, the star commodity of the region. We also made pu’er tea cakes, played mahjong, and enjoyed daily hikes on the secluded mountain trails. If you’re looking to get away from the city and unwind in a beautiful place where you can finally hear yourself think, I could not recommend Mukelan hotel highly enough! A guesthouse is not just a simple space; it's more about embodying a lifestyle, cultural creativity, and the aesthetics of life… At Auntie's house, I experienced the simple and honest culture of the local people and the long history of tea cultivation. It was a truly memorable trip. On our first day, it was drizzling. Auntie explained that winter in the tea mountains is the dry season, and it hadn't rained for a month. This was the first spring rain, and we witnessed a sea of ​​clouds slowly rising from the mountains. That evening, we drank Pu'er tea made by Auntie and received a souvenir containing ancient tree Pu'er tea she had made. The tea trees here are very old, mostly over a hundred years old, covered in moss and parasitic plants. Tea pickers have to climb these ancient, tall trees to harvest the fresh buds and leaves. I'm very grateful to Auntie for such a precious gift. After having a local breakfast of rice noodles, we spent the morning in the ancient tea garden. At an altitude of 1800 meters, the mornings were cool and the sun was pleasant. The animals here are very free; chickens, pigs, cows, and dogs roamed the tea plantations with us, creating a harmonious atmosphere. I strolled around the village; it was very primitive and rustic. In the afternoon, I saw an incredibly healing sunset. The experience here was completely different from the guesthouses in the city. I was hosted by the auntie herself, and her family was very kind and warm. There were no waiters, and even the animals were free and content. It felt like being isolated from the world, perfect for city dwellers like us to relax. It was truly a very relaxing experience and trip.

I brought my mother to Xishuangbanna to play, from Jinghong to Nannuo Mountain. It took a long time to choose a homestay. I did a detailed study of various homestays in Nannuo Mountain on Ctrip, and finally chose Nannuo Mountain Tea Garden Homestay. After checking in, I was extremely satisfied with the environment, hardware, and especially the software of this homestay. My choice was completely correct, which shows that sincere guest reviews are trustworthy. We originally planned to stay for one day, and we were very satisfied with the experience and stayed for another day. If the flight home had not been booked, we would have stayed here to have a good time in Nannuo Mountain. Nannuo Mountain Tea Garden Homestay is very new, the room is very large, larger than some of the surrounding inns, and there is a balcony where you can sit on a leisure chair and look at the distant mountains and clouds in a daze. Banshan Jianglu Hotel is just below the Tea Garden Homestay, and it is far inferior to the Tea Garden Homestay in terms of cost performance alone. It is very convenient to park in front of the Tea Garden Homestay, and it is very convenient to drive here. There is a platform on the roof. If the sea of ​​clouds appears, it is an excellent viewing platform. The homestay has two tea rooms where you can drink tea, chat, watch the scenery, and enjoy the years in the mountains. Hardware is only secondary. The real trump card of Nannuoshan B&B is the two Hani couples who run it. The young couple is very nice and treats guests like family. The food cooked by the proprietress is very delicious. You don't have to worry about eating when you stay here. This is a key link in running a B&B. Nannuoshan Tea House B&B is far better than some of the surrounding inns in terms of eating. I understand that some B&Bs in the surrounding area have to solve the problem of eating outside by themselves. No matter how much you say, it is better to experience it yourself, and no matter how much you hear, you can see it with your own eyes. The Japanese have a saying called ”Ichigo Ichie”, which means that many people may only meet once in our lifetime. I sincerely thank the good people I met, and the young couple of Tea House B&B are such people. Staying here makes my mother and I very satisfied and happy. By the way, her tea is very delicious, and you must taste it carefully.

It was my first time traveling to Menghai. I found this hotel and saw that the reviews were quite high, so I chose it. After checking in, the actual experience was very good. It was the smart room I liked. From the window, I could see the scenery of the village opposite. This was very different from the scenery I saw in other cities. I liked this feeling very much.

Thoughtfully designed and new rooms - simple but elegant and has everything you need for a quality stay. My room had a view of the mountains and green fields and it was a great sight to wake up to in the morning. There are plenty of places and balconies on both sides of the building for you to slow down, rest and enjoy tea. Special compliment to the owner and his staff. They helped me with my luggage up the stairs, chatted with me every time they saw me, and invited me to drink with them one night. I made some great friends and can’t wait to come back. A Hidden Gem in the Heart of China's Tea Plantations Our stay at this homestay was nothing short of magical. We traveled as a group of eight, including two young children, three grandparents, and three adults, and every single one of us had an incredible time. Nestled amidst lush tea plantations, the setting is absolutely stunning. Each morning, we woke up to breathtaking sunrises and a serene mist that blanketed the landscape. The house itself is a work of art—crafted entirely of wood and with impeccable aesthetic taste that reflects a deep respect for nature. But as beautiful as the surroundings and accommodations are, the true highlight of our stay was the hospitality of the host. In our three years in China, we have never experienced anything like it. From the moment we arrived, it felt as though we were visiting a dear friend rather than staying in a hotel. Her warmth, generosity, and genuine care made us feel completely at home. The food was exceptional, and we were treated to fresh fruits and tea throughout the day. She showed special care for our children, teaching them (and us!) how to make tea, and even accompanied us on a walk to share her knowledge of the local flora. One day, she surprised us with her hidden talent as a musician, singing traditional Chinese songs while playing the guitar and drums. Her smile and positive energy were infectious, leaving a lasting impression on all of us. This homestay was more than just a place to stay—it was an unforgettable experience filled with beauty, warmth, and cultural connection. We left with full hearts and wonderful memories, knowing this was the best place we've ever stayed in China. Where do I start? What an incredible hotel and great hospitality especially from 小姚 in the bar. We wanted espresso martinis, which were off menu, and he learnt very quickly how to make a tasty espresso martini. The hotel provides lovely amenities and daily activities. The swimming pool is a real photo opportunity as it’s an infinity pool and you are surrounded by beautiful scenery. The bar has the best views and very chilled. Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable and free dessert was offered on the first night.

It is still quite a long way from Menghai to Zhanglang Ancient Village. The proprietress specially drove to pick us up and also saw us off when leaving, which was very considerate. After checking in, we received one-stop service for food, drink, and entertainment, which felt very good. Eat: Breakfast is wood-fired hanging pot bean porridge, which is very delicious. I drank three large bowls around the stove and was satisfied. Lunch is mushrooms picked in the mountains. The bright red mushrooms are like elves in the mountains, so beautiful and spiritual. Simple mountain spring water stews into a mushroom soup with a strong aroma of fungus. Dinner is wild vegetables and pumpkin sprouts picked randomly by the roadside, which are also very delicious when stir-fried. By pounding bitter eggplant, pounding river bamboo shoots, and pounding tomatoes, you can taste the unique flavor of the mountains. I also ate their own wild honey, which was sweet to my heart. Drink: The landlady brought out various kinds of ancient tree tea and Pu'er tea for us to taste. With the sound of rain outside the tearoom and the faint fragrance of tea in the tearoom, we chatted about home affairs in an understated way. I felt that although the landlady is young, she has a sense of self-reliance. The sense of self-reliance and strength brings respect. Wan: Even though the lady boss is young, she got on her motorcycle and took the two of us on the muddy road in the mountains. She was very cool and comfortable. We were taken up the mountain to pick mushrooms, tea in the ecological tea garden, and ancient tea trees in the primeval forest. We also encountered wild Ganoderma lucidum on the way. Le: The Baixiang Temple in Zhanglang Ancient Village is particularly beautiful, and the thousand-year-old trees are particularly divine. I like the air, spring water, wild vegetables, ancient temples, sacred trees, and the simple and enthusiastic landlady here. Accommodation: A quaint wooden house. Situated on a mountain, the environment is indeed beautiful; you can see the clouds and mist in the morning and the sunset in the evening. There aren't many guests at the moment, and the hotel is managed by a young, attractive woman. The hotel is quite clean; there's no air conditioning, but there are electric blankets and electric heaters, which are sufficient for heating needs. The temperature is low on the mountain, and it can get quite cold sitting for a long time, but you'll still sweat when you walk around.

The boss is very good, sing to the guests to help, and explain the culture of the ethnic minorities in Yunnan. The sister who helped is the Yi nationality. The boss is enthusiastic to show the way to the tea king tree path, saving a kilometer of distance. When there are few people, you may still eat the barbecue grilled by the boss himself.
