Great
WW. JinHygiene: Very good.
Facilities: A mix of new and old, it's renovated, but just okay. No conditioner or lotion provided.
Service: Since we arrived from Singapore by cruise, we got to the hotel around 9 AM. We dropped off our luggage and went for a walk. It was incredibly hot, so by 12 PM, after sightseeing and eating, we returned to the hotel and asked if we could check in early. They refused... At around 1 PM, our little one really needed a nap, so we asked again and finally got a room. Sigh. Compliant with rules but not very empathetic. The service industry really needs a bit more human touch. The concierge, however, was excellent.
Environment: The swimming pool is clean, but it gets direct afternoon sun and closes exactly at 7 PM. Breakfast is good, but if you absolutely need Chinese food, you might consider skipping it and heading to the tea restaurant about 15 meters to the left of the hotel entrance, which is a better option. One side of the hotel faces the sea, and the other faces the Malacca River bay, both are nice views.

GGuest UserI was a bit worried after reading some reviews, but after checking in, I found the location to be absolutely fantastic. We could walk to all the major attractions, and popular restaurants were also nearby. Getting to the central station only took about 20 minutes by car. Our room's balcony was in the middle of the building, more like a drying area, but it met our need for quiet. The staff were all very enthusiastic, and the manager could speak Chinese. The shower had great water pressure and was very comfortable. When taking a Grab, we could be dropped off at the main entrance, but for pickups, we had to set the location to the back entrance and walk through the restaurant.
What I wasn't happy about was that the towels were a bit discolored, as mentioned in other reviews, and the room only provided reusable plastic slippers. It would be great if these could be improved.
NNurul AlfaMy stay at Courtyard by Marriott Melaka was nothing short of exceptional.
From the moment I arrived, the experience felt seamless and well-curated. The hotel maintains an impressive standard of cleanliness — every corner reflects attention to detail and consistent upkeep, which immediately builds trust and comfort.
The location is highly strategic, making it convenient to access key areas in Melaka while still offering a sense of calm and privacy away from the busy streets.
What truly stood out was the level of service. The staff were professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming — not just trained, but naturally hospitable. It’s the kind of service that elevates a stay from good to memorable.
The amenities were well-maintained and thoughtfully provided, catering perfectly to both leisure and business travellers. Everything felt complete, nothing felt lacking.
Overall, this hotel delivers a balanced experience of comfort, quality, and reliability. A place I would confidently return to — and recommend without hesitation.

GGuest UserThe location is a bit out of the way, a fair walk from Jonker Street, which made getting around at night a bit inconvenient.
The room had a dark, somewhat eerie decor, complete with an old-fashioned TV and two opposing floor-to-ceiling windows. The overall vibe felt a bit unsettling to stay in. The bathroom was tiny, the toilet wobbled a bit, which wasn't ideal, and the air conditioning vent was directly above the bed, making it quite cold at night.
The light switch design was poorly thought out; turning off the switch for the bathroom would cut off its power and ventilation, and turning it back on would restore power, but the ventilation fan was incredibly noisy, buzzing constantly and disrupting my rest.
The front desk staff were quite friendly and they offered a simple breakfast of toast, bread, eggs, milk, and coffee. You have to clean up and dispose of your own dishes after eating. Overall, it's decent value for money and perfectly fine for a one-night stopover, especially for budget-conscious short trips. 🧐🧐
GGuest UserThis hotel is located right in Malacca's Old Town, making it easy to walk to all the attractions. The parking lot is very spacious, which is great for those traveling by car. While the hotel's exterior and lobby are beautiful, the room itself was quite ordinary. The air conditioning was noisy, and the dim lighting made the room feel rather oppressive. The shower pressure was also very low. Throughout our entire trip, the hotel service in Malaysia was consistently indifferent, a stark contrast to the excellent service we experienced in Thailand.

GGuest UserAs a Malaccan myself, this building has gone through several transformations throughout my lifetime. Previously was a hotel then a college before Wyndham took over management and revived it into a splendid Mediterranean-inspired hotel.
Located in the Portuguese settlement, this hotel is close to tourist and shopping areas like Mahkota Parade, Dataran Pahlawan, Jonker Walk and just beside this hotel, there's a food court serving the locally famous 'Ikan Bakar'.
This hotel has only two floors and there's no elevator to go up, only stairs. You are offered with rooms either facing the courtyard or the sea. I absolutely love the pool here because it opens at night as well (until 11 pm) and the water temp is just nice at night for swimming. Beds are amazingly comfy and all the in-room amenities are well equipped and of good quality.
Breakfast was decent with limited selection of western and asian food to choose from. In-room service is also available but not many options available.
Overall I was satisfied with my stay. This place is unique and got strong mediterranean vibe and I really felt I was in Europe once I entered.

GGuest User1st day check-in experience:-
Very bad.
The check-in was smooth.
Once we step out of the lift on 22nd level. The whole corridor is humid and stuffy. No aircon at all.
After that, we tap in to our room. The whole room was humid and stuffy. Need to use those remote control to turn on the aircon (their aircon is those small ones installed for home type - one for e living area and one for the bedroom). After 20-30 mins, thought the room will slowly cool down.... no...
We all started to sweat in the room as the aircon is unable to cool the entire room at all.
There were 2 single beds in e living area and a queen size bed in the bedroom (Website states King size and 2 single beds).
We went to the reception to complain. Cos the small aircon is too weak for the big area. Even the small room can't cool down. Ask to change to a connecting room. They offered to change to a
deluxe room (2 super single) + Suite (1 king size + living area). That is the only option. We accepted and top up RM700. Reception claim they will ask the technician to check on the aircon at the corridor...
End up no actions done again....
We realized when the lift door opens on certain floors when guests comes in, the corridors are all humid and stuffy!
We were given the rooms on level 15, yap.... all corridors are stuffy without aircon. Even the reception area is cooler.
The only plus point is e attitude of the staff here.
The connecting room was way better with stronger aircon. Had a good rest for e 2 nights.
Very mixed feeling for this hotel as the location is good with eateries and massage places around. Pool looks good.
Very dated looking hotel with basic amenities. Slow response from housekeeping was slow, we requested for an additional pillow that never comes.
Will not be going back again.
GGuest UserThe hotel is quite clean, I think its because it is quite new. Good to stay and sleep. Go to famous place of interest is about a 15 min grab ride only. Everytime you drive out of the hotel, need to pay $5, not sure why they implement this rule, other hotels I stay do not have such rule. Also, when my family and I were visiting one the facilities in the hotel, one of the function room, there were some people cleaning inside and they shouted at us with very loud & sudden voice so we didn't go in. They were cleaning the floor and I think they were afraid that we will step inside because the floor is clean but I feel that they should not have shouted. We are the hotel guest so if they do not want us to step into the function room, they could have said it nicely instead of shouting. My family and I were startled by the sudden shout. The front reception people were very friendly and professional though.

AAnonymous UserWe arrived really late, around 1 AM, so there was only one staff member at the front desk for check-in. We asked if we could switch rooms if ours wasn't suitable, but he said they were fully booked and had no other options. The next day, we saw that the entire building had tons and tons of empty rooms 😂. Our family room was very spacious, but the furniture and facilities felt incredibly outdated, like something from 20 years ago. The windows even had several black mold spots 😂, and the towels weren't very clean and were haphazardly placed in the bathroom, which also lacked a separate shower and toilet. There were ants on the table in the room, and black and red marks on the walls. Around 11 PM, after we had already gone to bed, someone prank-called our doorbell, which gave us quite a fright. There were documents on the table and bed stating how hard the hotel worked to achieve its 4/5-star rating. However, if you wanted an extra blanket or additional tea, you had to pay separately for each, with prices clearly listed.
Pros: The hotel's location is excellent. It's right next to Heroes' Square, making it very convenient to walk to all the main attractions!
