It starts the minute you arrive….Gary and James welcome you like family. Their inn is simply lovely! Attention is paid to every detail. Breakfast was prepared by Gary and it was delicious. We highly recommend The Elms if you are planning a trip to Camden!

The Elms of Camden is a beautifully maintained B&B within walking distance to Camden Harbor. James and Gary are attentive, lovely hosts who readily share information about what to see and do the the area. The website and follow up emails after booking provide tips on restaurants to make early reservations especially during the busy season. Primo and Franny's were great suggestions. Breakfast is wonderfully prepared and delivered with a smile. The few times we had requests, James and Gary were very responsive. We hope to return and repeat this experience!

For anyone visiting Maine, Camden is an ideal base to view the costal area. And for anyone visiting Camden there is no better place to stay than The Elms of Camden. When we were planning our trip we hadn’t planned on staying in traditional Inns but we were so glad we gave it a try. This is a beautiful Inn within easy walking distance of the town centre. The decor is tasteful and makes you feel you have stepped back in time. But what really made our two night stay special was our hosts, Gary and James. From the moment we arrived they made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was freshly cooked and a delicious start to the day. One thing to bear in mind with any of these Inns is that they do not have elevators and in this case a narrow stairs to the upper floors, which might be an issue for some people. We had the Aster room on the second floor which was very comfortable. If you want a stay that is memorable choose the Elms of Camden.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Elms of Camden. Our room (Iris) was comfortable and spacious, the freshly prepared breakfast was delicious, the location was very convenient for restaurants and sightseeing in Camden, and above all Gary and James were friendly, hospitable hosts. Our only regret was that we could only stay one night! Highly recommended

The Elms of Camden is the perfect Maine get away. We stayed in the Iris Room which has a private entrance and charming courtyard. The room was very cozy with a large comfortable bed and nice seating area. From the Elms it is an easy walk to the harbor, shops and delightful restaurants of Camden. I can't say enough about the hospitality of inn keepers Gary and James. They provided excellent tips to enhance our travels and made us feel so welcome. The breakfasts were outstanding with fresh ingredients and gourmet preparations. We would definitely return to the Elms and highly recommend it to other Maine travelers.

Wow! The house is beautifully restored. I stayed in the Lupine room, which is in the back of the property and has its own entrance. The room was spotless, bed was comfortable, and there was a nice armchair in the room. The proprietors were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for me. The breakfast was amazing -- clearly cooked from scratch and just lovely. They made nice accommodations for my dietary needs (which I had told them about prior to arrival). I appreciated the small pantry that had a Keurig and complimentary k-cups/tea as well as a mini-fridge where I stored drinks and a basket of snacks.

An old unique historical house on the outskirts of Camden, situated on route 1 but not too noisy. The hosts were wonderful and the breakfast was home made and ideal.

The Elms of Camden is the quintessential Maine experience. It’s a beautifully restored historic home at the edge of town. Camden itself is the picture perfect New England town with the downtown nestled along the water front. We first stayed in the Elms two years ago for one night and returned most recently for our fourth visit. Each time, we have tried a different room and each one has its own charms. This most recent time we stayed in the Iris, at the very back of the property. It is spacious with a sitting area and a king sized bed with its own entrance out to the patio. Its on the patio where in pleasant weather, a breakfast, or should we say a “feast”, is served by James. Gary is the chef and each morning turns out a different gourmet meal to enjoy. The two proprietors are delightful! They are helpful in providing suggestions for trips in the area and in promptly responding to any guest needs. The Elms is an easy walk into the center of Camden, as well as an easy drive to many interesting sites in Maine’s Midcoast. We tried to stay longer, but they were booked up! We will return.
