Hotel Nantipa - A Tico Beach Experience

Nantipa is an incredible resort conveniently located in Santa Teresa, a charming beach town in the Nicoya Peninsula. The resort is well appointed and relaxing. In the “Nanku” rooms there was plenty of room for our family of four with two young children. Our family spent a lot of time at the beautiful pool and at the beach. The only downside of the pool is there isn’t a bathroom nearby (have to walk to front or restaurant). The beach outside the resort is a bit rough and so you need to be careful. Some of the people that make Nantipa special: Mariana (concierge); Ali (front desk); Camilla (yoga); Daniel and Bryan and Salvador (Manzu); and several others I am unfortunately forgetting. We booked some activities through the resort. Surfing: we surfed two days and Andres was the lead instructor. He and his team (gracias Danny!) were incredibly friendly and patient and great with kids. I was surprised how quickly they got new surfers standing up and surfing. Andres is also a tremendous ambassador for the Santa Teresa area and explained so many things to us. It was a great experience and I highly recommend booking surfing with Andres and his team. Tortuga island: this is a fun day and worth doing. It starts early (730am) to get to the boat (30 min away), and about a 45 min boat trip out toward the island. On the way we stopped to see spider monkeys and snorkel. Then the boat went to Tortuga Island and you spent a few hours. The crew makes a delicious lunch and provided drinks. You can order cocolocos, which are coconut milk and rum, and worth trying. We played volleyball, swam, and did a banana boat. Fun day. Restaurants: Manzu is the only restaurant at the hotel and is delicious for all meals, though it is fairly expensive and you can save some money by walking into Santa Teresa. Some of our favorites in Santa Teresa were Maharaja (incredible Indian!), Drift Bar (relaxing scene for lunch and drinks), and Nami (sushi). You’ll love Nantipa!

Literally the best hotel. Everyone was so nice and welcoming!! They answered all of my questions and believe me I had a lot! They are so patient and kind and just got above and beyond! They helped book our local flight to the hotel and helped book the shuttle and the zip line, horseback riding and spa! There’s literally nothing they can’t do! The food at Manzu was phenomenal!! 10/10 literally!!! I would recommend this hotel to everyone I know!

An amazing experience across the board. Our experience was a little bit different from the start because I inadvertently had our reservation beginning on the 30th even though we arrived on the 29th. The property was booked but Erika and the front desk staff were incredibly helpful by helping us find a nearby property at which we could stay for that first night. After we checked in on the appropriate date, they were even more accommodating and helpful - restaurant recommendations and reservations, activity reservations and information, driving directions, etc. The front desk is where the customer service began but top-notch service was pervasive throughout - everyone working there was polite, friendly and ready to help in both Spanish and English. The pool is amazing and the beach even better. The room we stayed in was perfectly clean, had exactly the amenities that we needed (including umbrellas which we needed). Our family (Mom, Dad and 13 yr old son) really cannot say enough about our experience at Hotel Nantipa. We will absolutely book Hotel Nantipa if we ever have the opportunity to return to Santa Teresa.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Bungalow 11 for 4 nights. It was private, pristine, and extremely comfortable. The resort is along the main road but you would never know it. From the amazing wildlife to the beautiful pool and beach, to the wonderful onsite restaurant, our stay was amazing. The resort and restaurant staff are absolutely wonderful as well. Highly recommend and hope to return in the near future!

Its our first visit to Costa Rica and Nantipa was a wonderful way to start. We took a short plane ride from San Jose to Cabano to get here. When we checked in, we met Erica. Along with her front desk team, she made sure that we were able to enjoy our vacation to the fullest. She made reservations for us for dinners and tours, and did it very efficiently. She was warm and welcoming, and we never felt any hesitation asking her for information or advice or help. We reserved this hotel with breakfast included, and that insured a fantastic start to every day. On days when we left early, they helped us pre-order and have it ready or even put together boxes to take with us in case the restaurant was not open at that time. At the restaurant Manzu, we met the other two people who made our vacation, enjoyable and memorable. First was Salvador. He was always on top of things. He made breakfast and lunch experience very relaxed and enjoyable. The food is top-notch,notch, (complimemts to the chef) but, as we all know that is only 50% of what makes a place wonderful. We also had the pleasure of meeting Emmanuel at the restaurant. Emmanuel was very kind and has helped me improve my Spanish vocabulary by 50% in the two days that we were here. For last evening here, we had reserved a dinner under the stars. It started raining, but the restaurant was prepared. They moved it to their yoga shala it was a magical experience. It was raining heavily, but it did not affect the service. It was a very private cozy setting and we were protected from the elements. It was a wonderful six course meal and we were lucky to have Emmanuel take care of us all evening. What a great experience! Shout out to Ali and Valeria at the spa Natalia who did a couple of fitness sessions with us. She is amazing. Thanks also to Tour guides, Marco for Curu and Kara & Luis for the riding experience at Ario Farms. Thank you team Nantipa for a great time.

My husband and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary at Nantipa and it was one of our best vacations ever! From our initial contact with the reservations team through our stay, the team at Nantipa met all of our needs and then some. The resort is beautiful & laid back in the perfect Costa Rican vibe. Santa Teresa is a lovely town with excellent restaurants, shopping and a gorgeous beach. We took the boat trip to snorkel at Tortuga Island (not as busy in the off season so quite enjoyable) we hiked the hanging bridges and went to Montezuma falls (all arranged by the amazing team at Nantipa); we celebrated our anniversary with a private dinner and enjoyed numerous days on the beach and at Manzu. We stayed in a beachfront bungalow with the pool and loved all of our accommodations. Top notch and loved interacting with all of the resort team. Highly recommended!

Booked our stay at Nantipa with my wife, for a family reunion at Santa Teresa beach. We were the only ones staying at Nantipa, the other groups, stayed at a mix of other local resorts and air bnb home. Hands down, Nantipa was by far the best! So much so, that the family came to us for most of their beach days, meals, and family pictures. Between my wife and I, we have never stayed in a better quality resort, nor have ever found friendlier staff. From extremely comfortable beds and very clean rooms, to the beautiful scenery, and convenient beach front location. The owner (Harry) is on site most of the time, and I was surprised and very pleased that they were very well acquainted with our special requests (Shabbat/kosher) as observant Jews. After all, this is remote Costa Rica, not New York or Miami... After leaving, we ran into issues with local rods being closed dur to flooding, and missed our flights home. After turning in circles on horrendous jungle rods for a few hours, we returned to Nantipa, Where Mariana helped us reroute our travel plans to get us home to Canada safely the following day. I can't thank them enough!

From the moment we arrived at checkin until the moment we checked out we experienced the most welcoming and friendly charm of the place and the people. We were there for a wedding for our niece. It was absolutely perfect! I’m so glad we were able to make the trip. The resort was clean, the food was exceptional. Thank you Nantipa for memories that will last a lifetime! Pura Vida!

Nantipa is a gem of a resort that embodies a true Costa Rican experience, has a gracious and attentive staff and a calm and relaxed environment. I really loved it and cannot wait to come back. I stayed in a Nanku room which was extremely spacious and comfortable. They have a drink in the room made from cacique and infused with pineapple that is a nice touch. My friends were in the Villa which had a private pool, was just steps to the beach, and had a full, modern kitchen. The property isn't huge but it has a lovely pool, is on the beach, and a casual restaurant all nearby so you really can choose how you want to spend your time. There is also a brand new luxury spa with different types of treatments available and some of them looked amazing (we didn't have time but I wanted to try the Hawaiian massage that sounded incredible). The restaurant, Manzu, has a menu that accommodates all sorts of food preferences and allergies (we had someone with a gluten allergy and she was amazed by how many options were available). The staff also was so friendly and kind. Our server for dinner both nights, Salvador, handled us and all of our requests with ease and a smile. I recommend the sea bass- it was fantastic- and the quinoa or hearts of palm salad. The hotel is located in the heart of San Teresa which out of all the places we visited in Costa Rica felt the most authentic, laid back yet also lively. It is a surfer's paradise but also has so many things to do. There are really cute boutiques for shopping and a bunch of little restaurants as well. It is close to excursions like Tortuga Island, waterfalls and Ario for horseback riding. We did the horseback riding and it was stunning! It is clear that this property's owners genuinely care and pay attention to the details and what makes staying there so special. Camila and Marianna are the epitome of hospitality and their passion for what they do shines through. Thank you for everything, Nantipa! Pure Vida
