Blooma Boutique Hotel & Kosher Restaurant ★★★★
"My partner and I stayed here on the final stop of our four week Central America trip and it was the best place we have stayed. The staff are INCREDIBLE. They are so kind, attentive, and never make you feel like you are wasting their time. The location of the hotel is great too, walking distance to everything and the beach is about 2min walk away. Breakfast is also delicious, the granola and fresh fruit is so yum (plus a barista made coffee with every breakfast!). The rooms are modern, clean, with a comfortable bed and great pillows. We are also able to refill sparkling and still water for free. Another cool thing is the wrist band that unlocks your room instead of a key, this was great for not having to always look for the key! We didn’t book anything through the hotel, but we’ve seen other guests do it and it looks super easy."
Surf Paradise ★★★
Hotel Nantipa - A Tico Beach Experience ★★★★★
"My husband and I stayed at Nantipa for 6 nights and I cannot wait to go back. The stay included breakfast at their Manzú restaurant each day which offered multiple healthy, filling and delicious choices. We also had an excellent dinner with unique cocktails during our stay. The Ninta Beachfront Bungalow offers ocean views from the the bed and a large plunge pool. It was a very relaxing way to spend time after jumping in the ocean. The bed was very comfortable and the AC rooms stayed nice and cool. They have bug spray in the room for your use that smells nice and works well. There is a mini fridge with some buy options but also plenty of space to add any drinks you might purchase in town. There are walkable restaurants and shops nearby where you can find casual choices. We also worked with the concierge, Anthony, to book a surfing lesson. It was very fun but difficult. Worth at least trying if you have time. Anthony also went above and beyond with a large gift for us during our stay including fresh fruit (mango is amazing here), cookies and chocolate! The hotel also offers house keeping 2× a day with turndown including a chocolate and fresh flowers each day. There is no gym but since this is a wellness resort the focus is on classes like yoga/pilates. They offer a complimentary 7am yoga which had a different instructor/ flow each day. Well worth booking in advance. The other classes run thru the day with a cost and pre booking as well. If you're looking for luxury and personalized care this is definitely the resort to stay at."
Laloon Luxury Suites - Adults Only ★★★★★
"I recently stayed at “Laloon Luxury Suites” and it was an exceptional experience. The suites were spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated. The staff was attentive and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The location was convenient, making it easy to explore the city. The food was delicious, with a wide variety of options. I highly recommend “Laloon Luxury Suites” for a luxurious and comfortable stay. It truly felt like a home away from home."
Hotel Santa Teresa by the Beach ★★★
Dreamcatcher Hotel - Live the Dream of Santa Teresa ★★★
"Dreamcatcher is a small hotel but very well located, with gentle and capable staff, our room was very spacious with two gigantic beds and a nice balcony. The garden is well maintained and could be "experienced" in the room through the balcony. The room, bathroom, pools and breakfast area were always clean and organized at any time of the day or night. The check in and check out processes were easy and fast, with the communication starting few days after the reservation through WhatsApp and emails. Actually anytime we needed we could use WhatsApp to reach out for support."
Zula Inn Aparthotel ★★
"Fabulous self contained bungalows, set back from the main road so nice and quiet. Lovely pool area that we managed to make use of, even with the torrential downpour we were unlucky to have every night! Great for wildlife spotting, we had an armadillo visit us 2 nights and spotted our first toucans! Really comfy hammock :)"

Colibri Apartments - Private Kitchen & Bathroom - 4 Min Walk to the Beach!
Banana Beach Bungalows
"This establishment blatantly disregards Costa Rican laws that prohibit placing furniture on public beaches, which are national assets belonging to all citizens. Their repeated violations of these regulations pose a threat to local wildlife. According to Costa Rican law, the Maritime Terrestrial Zone (Zona Marítimo Terrestre) encompasses the area from the high tide line up to 200 meters inland. The first 50 meters of this zone are designated as public property, where permanent structures or furniture placement is prohibited without proper authorization. This regulation aims to preserve the natural environment and ensure public access to beaches. By placing furniture within this public zone without authorization, the establishment is violating these legal provisions, thereby endangering the local ecosystem in processes such as the turtle's reproduction cycle and restricting public access to the beach."
Casa Heaven Santa Teresa Beachside
Ventura Santa Teresa
"This hotel generally gets good reviews but we were surprised and underwhelmed. Our biggest concern was the size - the rooms are very small, almost uncomfortable. It felt like we were staying in a college dorm room. It was very tight for two people, and certainly not romantic or comfortable for a couple’s stay. We did not enjoy sleeping in a bunk bed. With that said, the room was new, clean and had everything we needed. There’s also a restaurant on-site and a tiny pool. It’s basically like a hostel. Heads-up that’s its on the southern end of Santa Teresa and we felt a bit isolated. I might recommend looking for a place about a mile/km north, more towards the center. But there is a grocery store right across the street, and also laundry and a few coffee shops. It’s nice that this hotel is new, but again the rooms are very small and uncomfortable. I imagine it’s hard to find luxurious places in this small beach town without paying a fortune. If you’re looking for something nice, I would probably avoid Santa Teresa altogether."
Horizon Hotel & Yoga Center
"Yoav and Gali have created a beautiful retreat space at this villa hotel, truly embodying the Pura Vida lifestyle. The very spacious and well-appointed private villas are tucked away in the greenery and adorned with so much love and care including handmade seashell décor and Bali inspired artwork that is aesthetically pleasing. The many carefully designed stone staircases lead to delightful views as we made our way to the Café and Yoga studio overlooking the ocean below. This very private and secure yoga hotel offers a holistic experience with twice daily yoga classes and healthy organic food for breakfast and lunch. The yoga classes are taught by exceptional instructors, with a special mention to Yoav's class. His strong voice and presence provided a tremendous grounding experience as we began the class on our stomachs listening to the ocean waves below us. The dining experience is exceptional, featuring fresh, organic foods served with so much love by both Gali and Yoav. They need to create their own cookbook! It's the best place in town for breakfast and lunch, surpassing even the well-reviewed Bakery in town. A true oasis in bustling Santa Teresa, surpassing expectations and offering a peaceful place to retreat on your own private balcony with all the comforts of home including hammocks."
Vista del Alma Boutique - Adult Only
"We spent three nights at Vista del Alma Boutique Resort – and from start to finish, it was a truly memorable stay. The road to the hotel is quite steep, but manageable with a 4x4 SUV – and the breathtaking views more than make up for the adventurous drive. Check-in was smooth and welcoming, with a local team that spoke perfect English and offered plenty of helpful recommendations and support. We felt truly cared for from the moment we arrived. We had reserved an Oceanview Villa, and it was absolutely stunning – beautifully designed, modern, spotlessly clean, and with an incredible view over the ocean. The sunsets were unreal. As a lovely welcome, we received a bottle of wine and two fresh local juices – a thoughtful touch we really appreciated. Breakfast could be enjoyed either in-room or at the on-site restaurant. We tried both – and having breakfast on the terrace with that view was simply magical. The restaurant staff were warm and friendly, and the breakfast itself was extensive, delicious, and customizable. For the quality and variety offered, the value for price was excellent. We also took part in the on-site yoga class, which was beginner-friendly and came with a truly serene view of the ocean – a peaceful, grounding experience. Since you’re in the middle of the jungle, it’s worth noting that leaving the door open for even a minute can invite some insects inside – but that’s to be expected in this kind of natural setting, and it didn’t bother us much. The only small downside: parking and access can be tricky. The drive is very steep, and parking requires confident driving skills and a proper 4x4 vehicle. Final verdict: A stunning boutique resort with heart, style, and soul. If you’re looking for privacy, luxury, and a deep connection to nature – all with unforgettable ocean views – this is the place. We’d absolutely come back."
Beach Villa Santa Teresa
Casa Marbella
"I loved our stay in this charming little hotel. We had a kitchenette which was really nice. We had breakfast and coffee by the pool every morning. The saltwater pool was so lovely. It was quiet which was really nice to be away from the hustle and bustle at the beach below. Honestly, in our travels, we have never seen the cleaning staff pay attention and work as hard as these women did. I was shocked to see them wiping the railings, and window sills every morning. Amazing. The only warning I have is, there is a steep driveway so it is a hike from the beach. Recommend you to walk to the restaurant next door through the private gate. Stunning views and excellent food. We had an incredible server named Juan. He was absolutely Juan-derful 😊. I regret we didn’t stay longer."
