We spent 3 nights here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was fabulous from beginning to end. We received the warmest of greetings on arrival and enjoyed tea in the pretty gardens before being shown to our room. We stayed in ‘Avon’, it was spacious, immaculately clean and with private decking overlooking the gardens. An anniversary gift awaited us from the housekeeping staff, a really lovely gesture much appreciated. Breakfasts each morning were a delight and our anniversary dinner was amazing, every course delicious and served in such a relaxing setting. The staff were all so lovely, they are a huge asset to the hotel and every one of them we met contributed to what was the perfect stay

We enjoyed another fantastic stay here last weekend. We return regularly because of the cosy rooms, fantastically helpful staff and the excellent food. It’s a very relaxing place to stay and while there are lots of wonderful walks and attractions to visit nearby, we often just want to relax and spend time together. Dinner is always a highlight here and we love the amazing food and the attention to detail of the waiting staff. We never feel rushed or hurried. Everything is well paced and thought through. It’s an absolute delight. Already looking to book another stay.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate our special wedding anniversary. We wanted somewhere with character and of a high standard that also had a good restaurant offering. We were not disappointed. We stayed in a superior king room had a lovely view of the hillside. We were impressed by the comfort of the room and enjoyed the little extras such as handmade biscuits in a cookie jar and quality shower products etc. The staff were all very friendly and courteous. The restaurant serves a set menu with 3 or 4 choices which changes each night, and all the dishes are prepared freshly from local produce. The location is good and we took a walk from the hotel. along the river into the nearby village of Chagford. We hope to return one day.

This is a very nice hotel in a lovely location by the river with very good rooms. There are plenty of local walks to do around the hotel. As for the food they advertise this restaurant as 2 AA rosette. NO WAY. This is a 3 rosette restaurant and the food is excellent . After leaving Mill end we went to a well known castle hotel near Bristol and the restaurant has 3 AA rosettes. Well the food at Mill end is far superior than this hotel, So please Mill end apply for your 3rd AA rosette.

We stayed here for two nights and can not recommend this little gem highly enough. The staff and the accommodation, for us and doggies, was first class. They accommodated us and our three dogs, which is a rarity and was no trouble at all. It's a very comfortable hotel where nothing is too much trouble. Our package was dinner, bed and breakfast and the food was outstanding. Best meals we have had in a long time. We will definitely return as we are only a short distance away. There are fantastic walks for dogs and humans alike, Chagford is a walk away too. Cannot fault this hotel in any way, shape or form. Pay a visit, you will not be disappointed.

Fabulous location on the edge of Dar**oor. Stayed for 1 night. Arrived to a warm welcome. We were booked for Afternoon Tea on arrival which was absolutely delicious. Quiches, scones, sandwiches and cakes, all fresh and well presented. Unfortunately we were so full we couldnt manage dinner. The room was located in a separate building from the hotel, overlooking the river Teign, with its own balcony. The room was very comfortable and clean, and we were provided with plenty of tea, coffee and homemade shortbread. Luxury toiletries were also provided. Breakfast was amazing, good quality produce. All the staff were very friendly. We will definitely be returning to this fabulous hotel and would highly recommend.

This was our third visit to Mill End and once again we were not disappointed. The rooms were comfortable and clean, all the staff without exception were welcoming and hospitable, and the food was great. Choice of wine to accompany the food perfect. Can’t say fairer than that….!!

2nd time we've come to Mill End and it's very much becoming our go to place when we visit Devon! We stayed in the amazing new Teign suite this time and were blown away! If you want to spoil yourself I'd highly recommend. Dinner is even better than last time, I had the venison and my partner the duck and both were exquisite! All the staff are super friendly and really do go above and beyond! I'd recommend the walk towards castle drogo too as the views are stunning!

Great location on the edge of Dar**oor. Easy and plentiful parking. Wonderful welcome on check-in. Room was lovely, linen high quality. View of the front garden, the sound of rushing water in the river, and the general environment was pleasant (despite noisy crows roosting nearby!). Bathroom was spacious, with a shower-over-bath. There was some noticeable noise from neighbouring rooms. We dined in. Food was good, service was entertaining. Our server, an amiable young person had already told us he hated hospitality and couldn't wait to leave, to "flip properties". Later he quipped to my partner when serving desert "here's the tart for a tart not that I am saying she is a tart but she might be". Fortunately, we chuckled. Check out was easy and complimented with a token gift from the Hotel.
