Being in a peak area, this standard is quite satisfactory. The only discomfort is that there is no elevator, the stairs are relatively narrow, and it is troublesome to get up and down large luggage. Breakfast is made a la carte, the taste is much better than some buffet breakfasts, and the service staff are also more enthusiastic.

Can’t fault Devonshire Arms. Went for a one night stay to celebrate wife’s birthday and we had a lovely room (Room 1), with our own courtyard, sofa, large bed, port for a nightcap, and everything else you could possibly need. Mandy was a star and nothing was too difficult, always chatty, and helpful. Resteraunt food in the evening is standard pub food, but breakfast was excellent. Stay with your dog and all are welcome. Thank you for helping to make the wife’s birthday celebration excellent.

Great service, one of the tastiest g&t’s I’ve ever had. The food was lovely. The interior is so pretty and makes the experience of eating there even nicer.

Enjoyable stay in every respect. This smallish hotel with its own parking represents very good value, is very comfortable and welcoming with many thoughtful touches. There is a very good and reasonably priced menu (and a good wine list) for dinner, and breakfast. Ideally positioned for Chatsworth and the Peak District generally. Will be very happy to stay again.
