Guest House Western-City

At the end of November/beginning of December I sent an email to reserve the accommodation. Since it took a few days before I received an answer, I called a French-speaking lady, who sighed audibly when I wanted to ask some questions. I wanted to be quick, but I was unable to make a reservation as the accommodation was full. Shortly afterwards I emailed again asking if I could book a room for 20/1/2024. When the response was delayed, I called the same telephone number on 12/22. A young man answered and said that the lady who takes reservations was traveling but that my booking was in order. On 16/1 I called again to ask if everything was okay. The lady said that I would receive confirmation by email that same evening. Unfortunately, no email that evening. Called again on 19/1... the woman had to find my details, pulled up the email from the beginning of December and casually let me know that everything is fully booked for 20/1. This is no way to do business. I am not satisfied with the state of affairs and do not wish to make a reservation with this lady. Too bad it turned out this way.

Building and room entirely in western or old skool America style

excellent, very luxurious rooms where you feel in the a**osphere of the west (without the discomfort of the time of course)). Sleeping there on Sunday after a day in the bustle of a western town is exceptional if you like stories of the wild west.

The welcome was very good, the accommodation is as indicated and very clean. Small suggestion: why not install mosquito nets to allow ventilation of the home without the inconvenience of flies and mosquitoes?

Very bad experience: lousy welcome, rude hostess, abominable organization and endless waiting, totally messed up shows with actors without any experience and catastrophic staging, karaoke making the ears bleed, a den of rednecks and fascist drunks. My 7 year old son was so bored that he started crying, I strongly advise against it and will never set foot there again.

Last Tuesday, 06/09/2022, my father and I walked 24 km along the GRP573 between Nessonvaux and Chenee (from station to station) with yellow/red markings. The walk was beautiful, but quite difficult because of the elevation gain and dry. We did bring enough water, but due to the floods in the summer of 2021, many drinking establishments were closed, ... . Moreover, it was Tuesday and therefore not a weekend. Even in Chaudfontaine there was nothing left to have a nice drink. Western City is located between Chudfontaine and Chenee. A cowboy village recreated from the movie Tombstone with legendary figures such as Wyatt Earp. Normally the Western City Saloon would also be closed, but the people were incredibly friendly and hospitable and understood that we had already had a long journey. So we were allowed to sit on the terrace of the Saloon and ordered a bottle of Chaudfontaine sparkling water and a regional beer, in particular an abbey beer "La Merveilleuse de Chèvrement". A blond beer of 7.5° with a 300-year-old recipe from the monks from Chèvrement. That was great! In short, we couldn't be grateful enough to the people of Western City. Hospitable, friendly and a great location! Afterwards we were able to reel off our last kilometers with fresh courage to the Chenee station. Greetings Jimmy Saey

We were there with a small child and we really liked it. There are lots of animals like horses, ponies, dogs, cats and chickens and you are in the middle of nature. The complex is decorated in a western style with great attention to detail. Great! It feels like a farm holiday. Our apar**ent was bigger than expected and well equipped with a full kitchen. It had a beautiful view. There was a lot to discover. The reception was a bit bumpy, but we were soon put through to the right person who explained everything to us in French. The room was very warm and stuffy in July. Unfortunately, you couldn't air it without countless flies coming in straight away. On the balcony, we had to be very careful that our child didn't fall through the wide gaps in the railing. We had to organize breakfast elsewhere. All in all, a very nice and unusual hotel that you won't find anywhere else.
