It is located on the west side of the Summer Resort in the center of Chengde. It is a 2-minute walk from the main entrance of the Summer Resort. It has a superior geographical location. The walking circle around the hotel covers the large fast food restaurant "Express Kitchen", Erxianju Night Market, Jinlong Shopping Plaza, Royal Guandi Temple and Chengde Central Hospital, and a bus stop is set in front of it. It takes 15 minutes to directly reach the World Cultural Heritage "U Ba Temples" building complex, and 25 minutes to reach the high-speed rail station, which is convenient to transport. Stayed over for one night at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel at Chengde. The entrance to the hotel was congested with cars. The parking attendance in front of the hotel wasn't really helpful when my driver dropped us off to check in to the hotel. What he cares was just faster unload and removed the car form that area. He offered no help at all. I was not sure if the parking attendance was employed by the Hilton hotel. If yes then the service was really not up par with the Hilton standard for customer service standard. We carried one large luggages and few smaller bags. We have to carry it over few flights of stairs to get in to the hotel entrance. The sliding path to get into the hotel entrance was not located in front of the hotel entrance but was hidden at the side that was obscured or partially blocked by the parking car at the front. The reception lady was very friendly though. We were given high floor and she scanned my WeChat to easy contact with the hotel later. The hotel room was very spacious and beautiful but the room was stuffy. Only one tiny small window was able to open a little bit to let the outside air go in. The afternoon temperature was as high as 25 degrees Celcius and rather HOT inside the room. We cannot adjust the aircon in the room as it is central setting! Called to the reception to ask why the room air con can't be adjusted and it seems not working but was told it is central setting. Well, you paid a lots to stay at the hotel without proper ventilation but to rely on the outside air to go in the tiny window. Despite the hotel facility was complete but we still cannot really enjoy and sleep comfortably as we felt HOT. The hotel separates the bathroom from toilet. The washing basin was outside of the bathroom. The breakfast was good with lots of variety. After checking out, I realised I might have left my traveller adaptor in the room. Immediately Isent a text to the hotel via WeChat but to my disappointment, it took two days for them to reply my message asking me to self contact the front desk counter to ask yourself?! What kind of service of that??? Asking hotel guest to add them on WeChat but still asking us to self call the front desk? Not all tourists will have local Sim card to make phone call. That is really a disappointment. They should have offered a better service by checking with the front desk counter and then get back to us via WeChat. This Hilton is definitely still a long way to go to achieve better rating. The hotel is closed to q night market that offers lots of street foods. There was one food stall that offer very palatable Chu Cheong fun. The experience was not pleasant for my one night stay.

The location is highly recommended, right in the heart of Chengde, a ten-minute walk from the Mountain Resort, and with several shopping malls. The decor is relatively new, with smart guestroom controls. The front desk staff was very friendly and recommended how to visit the Eight Outer Temples, which one is worth going inside. Just taking a photo outside was enough. We were very satisfied with this. We arrived by high-speed rail, and my friends drove, which was very inconvenient. They had to park across the street and walk back in the hot weather. Overall, I was very satisfied. Hotel prices in Chengde during peak season are not low, so it's a good value.
