I'm surprised by the high overall rating of this place. While the hotel is modern and well-designed, the rooms are quite small and offer little to no privacy. If you’re traveling with someone, make sure you’re comfortable with them, as the layout lacks intimacy. Additionally, noise is an issue—you can hear your neighbors easily, even when they’re chatting outside your room late at night. The internet connection was poor throughout the hotel—slow and constantly disconnecting—and the TV wasn’t working. Check-in is only available after 16:30, so if you arrive earlier, you'll need to carry your luggage around. If you fancy a glass of wine, be aware that service stops at 20:00 when the reception closes. We ordered one and charged it to our room, yet the next morning at breakfast, the receptionist was already asking us to settle the €7 bill, which felt a bit excessive. Breakfast was good, but the space was small and overcrowded, making it a bit overwhelming. Overall, this place is fine for a one-night stay, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a longer visit.

Lovely comfy bed, modern decor, clean as a whistle throughout (spotlessly clean white linen and towels), quiet location despite being very central, helpful and charming welcome, breakfast staff and owners, dedicated parking only 3 min walk with drop off bag option. Nice courtyard, conservatory and communal areas. Breakfast was lovely- lots of options- continental style. Really can’t think of much at all to improve (oh except, to have let us know how to get to rooms 17, 18 and 19 once the reception is closed at night. As we went to the rom via the reception and conservatory on arrival, it was a bit confusing to come back after the meal to a locked reception and, what we initially thought was no way back to our room. Only after 5 mins trying doors in the foyer did we find our way.)

A warm and friendly welcome with nothing too much trouble to help book restaurants and the best ice tea on arrival. Breakfast was to die for!! Rooms were tastefully decorated and bathrooms spacious. Very clean and in a quiet but great location within easy reach of centre.

The wonderful owners could not do enought to help with guides to restaurants and places to visit. Also on the spot wine tasting! The dining rooms are beautiful and bright. The bedrooms were also clean and comfortable. We can also recommend the bar/bistrot Fauve. Great food and wonderful atmosphere where the staff fantastic. Thank you Steve and Andrea

Charming hotel on the south side of the Vienne river, tucked away in the old quarter so reasonably quiet. No onsite parking (pick up/drop off only) put plenty within a short walk. Rooms finished to a high standard, comfortable bed and a good shower! A very nice restaurant/ bar area for breakfast and/ or an evening drink (no other meal service) Buffet breakfast is an extra charge and only continental, but a good variety of home made and local items. Croissants were disappointing, however, as appeared baked from frozen and therefore not cooked in the middle :( Staff very friendly and helpful. Check in only possible from 16.30 (doors are locked until then) so if you arrive early it's best to head across the river to the centre of town or up to the castle to explore, or just chill out in one of the many local hostelries and savour the local grape juice!

We stayed for 3 nights as a group of 21 on a wine tour of the Loire. Great location- just over the river from the town, wonderful garden for pre-dinner drinks, comfortable and beautifully decorated rooms and delicious breakfast. The owners Rudy and Matthieu were very hospitable and straightforward to book with.

A lovely small hotel located centrally in the delightful town of Chinon. We stayed en route from Dordogne to the Channel Tunnel, an ideal place to break the journey. Our room was large, clean and comfortable with a great shower/bathroom. The buffet breakfast was first rate with plenty of choice and both the coffee and hot chocolate were superb. We were given a warm and friendly welcome which is always appreciated. We will be back! Merci 🥰
