This hostel was incredibly comfortable! I didn't take many pictures, but it's genuinely the best hostel I've ever stayed in, even better than the one in Suzhou. It was also a real eye-opener because there were so many foreigners! The facilities are super new, and the whole flow of activities felt smooth and comfortable. We were so tired yesterday that we checked out right at noon, but nobody said anything. They have a bar and a communal kitchen, and the front desk staff and cleaning ladies were all amazing. My friend and I went to Happy Valley during the day, then had hotpot late at night. The front desk lady just gently called to confirm if we were checking in tonight. Her gentleness was like an AI voice assistant, and her voice was lovely. Even when our takeout hotpot leaked oil, she helped us figure out if we could put it in the fridge after wiping it down. Another front desk lady was also really interesting; she films vlogs. I asked if it was her job, thinking how tough it must be (usually there are quotas you have to meet daily, or you get docked pay), and she said it was just her hobby! Wow, I felt so inspired by her zest for life. She also always asked if we were willing to be on camera and didn't just film without permission. There were plenty of snacks like peanuts and melon seeds on the tables in the common area. The cleaning lady saw us finish using the communal kitchen's dishes and noticed some food scraps in the sink, so I asked about it. She was incredibly gentle, like an elder at home, and just naturally said, 'Just leave it for me!' But of course, I felt I should do my own chores! The chef is a very tall man with a deep voice. I thought, 'This hostel must be really peaceful,' because seeing him, nobody would dare to fight or cause trouble. But he must be tough on the outside and soft on the inside because we found a chef's manual of his (I forgot what it was, haha!). The cats were also super friendly and clean; they're very well cared for. They even gave us cardholders for our IDs because ours didn't have one, and the quality was excellent. There was also a little surprise waiting on the bed – a throat lozenge! I found it incredibly comforting and thoughtful. The entire hostel is also very affordable, perfect for a long stay. The slippers were most likely disinfected too; it was the first time I've ever worn hostel slippers without any hesitation, which says a lot. The staff never acted snobby or dismissive because they're in a first-tier city or speak English, which is really great. They even had activities on Chinese New Year's Eve! What a shame, though; I had to go home that day. That's my only regret. There were also a couple of minor downsides: the hostel entrance was a bit hard to find, but it's not too bad, just a block or two away. 😁 I'll definitely come back next time!
