The staff is very friendly, however place is terrible. The room was very dirty. The sheets were also dirty and were not changed even after we had complained. The cleaning staff told me that they don’t change the sheets every day and that is how the place is operating. The floor and walls were all dusty and had cobwebs. The bed had bugs and orange worms. When I complained about the state of the room, nothing was done. I would never return to this place and I don’t recommend it to anyone.

I would strongly recommend this place for a beautiful couple’s retreat and time with family, the game drive and quad bike experience is the best I’ve ever had and we will definitely be returning. The Saturday fire side experience is a heart warming and fun time you can spend with family and friends

Dear Mangwa Family First of all - we really wish to thank you guys from the bottom of our hearts for such a genuine amazing experience. We cannot thank you enough for the warm welcome - from our arrival, to the drinks (and more drinks), the beautiful room, the succulent tasty food (kudos to the chef), the fabulous couple game drive (the initiative taken on choosing or drinks and snacks), the wildlife gazing around right in front of our rooms... We really could not have chosen a better place. To you Great team (Benjamin, Proxy, Kenny who was super caring, so aware of our presence to make sure that they meet all standards - they definitely ticked all the boxes necessary to create a relaxing and special experience. Thank you for the superb service, your friendliness and to gaining a new family. George and Michelle

Although Mangwa Valley Game Lodge appears to be a lovely place for a getaway, they do not enforce their own rules. Guests are allowed to play loud music, scream and shout into the small hours. Calling security is futile. They should be patrolling at night, but don't.

I had the best week at Mangwa Lodge. There are lots of activities to do, my favourite being quad biking through the nature reserve. I would recommend this place to all the female solo travellers. The staff was very professional, paid careful care to what I needed and was also always ready to help - they go beyond for their visitors. Proxy and Mr Best truly deserve a special mention. In addition, Proxy makes the booking seamless, as well as the whole stay. He is always available and ready to be of help. I really enjoyed this trip.

the place is so tired and needs a lot of attention it is listed as a 4 star hotel it is not even 2 stars. the showers are dirty , some rooms have fans that do not work, toilet roll holders are broken, shortage of shower caps door locks on tents dont work. A big issue is there are no lights to the tents at night and it is very dark and we go lost. Reception closes early so had to call a guest to help. the pathway just ends and no lights. Some chalets have broken windows. It was such a pity as we went with a company group were promised a drumming session did not happen were promised a dinner in the boma did not happen and it wasnt the weather. there is no game at all to see except some buck around the lodge. The ranger was more of a driver knew nothing about flora and fauna. The food was fresh and tasty. The breakfast could have done with some cheese and a fresh pastry or two. The dining room staff were friendly and efficient. We were there pre covid and it need some help now housekeeping is poor .

We wanted to stay at Mangwa Vallet because we had stayed there before. Due to a wedding and office function, the only available accommodation was in the 6-sleeper luxury rooms. We paid for all the rooms even although we were only 2 people. This was fortunate because we used all 3 rooms - 1 for sleeping, 1 for dressing and 1 for showering. Only the sleeping room had an air conditioner, but the shower wouln't drain away. The dressing unit shower was the same. Only one room's shower drained properly. Unfortunately the key for that room did not open the front door, so we used the bedroom sliding doors as access. There were further drainage issues in the lounge/kitchen boma. Staff tried to repair this whilst we would have liked to relax in that area in the afternoon. We also found the kitchen a little dirty, with no washing-up liquid and a fridge that was in poor condition. Fortunately, the lodge was very nice. The chef must be complimented for his wonderful meals. Mangwa is close to all amenities in Dinokeng, but I don't think that I would stay there again unless the rooms were in better condition.

Simple but clean accommodation, simple but good food. The breakfast was also good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We booked the game drives through another hotel. Unfortunately it was New Year's Eve and other hotel guests were making a lot of noise. But it was still ok. I can recommend the hotel. Price performance is right.

We had a fantastic stay. We were there with our children (14 and 16 years old) for 6 days, including Christmas. Our daughter turned 14 on December 23rd. We asked if they could bake a cake, that was no problem. After dinner they came with cake, drums and singing. She will never forget this birthday. We had rented two luxury tents with a view of game. The people are intensely friendly and helpful, the food is delicious. From Mangwa it is a few minutes' drive to Dinokeng. If the children didn't feel like going to Dinokeng, they stayed by the pool and WiFi ;).
