InterContinental Dalian

The hotel's location is excellent, and my overall stay was great. Riley promptly noted my room preferences. I'll definitely choose InterContinental Dalian again next time I'm in the city.

The hotel facilities seem a bit dated. However, all the staff were very friendly, and I was especially impressed by the luggage handlers in the lobby who also helped with my suitcases and greeted me when I got into the car. The hotel's location is also very convenient for travel.

I previously booked a guesthouse that wasn't cheap, but the environment turned out to be quite bad. So I decided to stick with a reliable brand hotel and chose InterContinental. The environment was bright and clean, and the staff were warm and attentive. A senior gentleman at the lobby handling luggage was particularly helpful, always ready to answer questions without hesitation. Also, Riley from customer service was enthusiastic and responsive. I'll definitely choose InterContinental again if I have the chance next time.

There was a long line at check-in, but the front desk agent, Yuki, was incredibly efficient and professional. Seeing that we would have a long wait, she proactively offered to switch our room. She also gave us a discount for adding breakfast. The club lounge has fantastic views, especially during the 'blue hour' when the distant harbor looks beautiful. While the hotel facilities are a bit dated, housekeeping is excellent, and amenities are restocked frequently. With five of us, including a child, this InterContinental suite was a fantastic value for money compared to similar-tier hotels. We had a very comfortable stay for these four nights.

The location of Zhongshan Square is excellent, and it's convenient for dining and getting around. The hotel's hardware facilities don't quite match its service, which is very good. They respond quickly to requests and follow up consistently. The staff are also very enthusiastic. The pool is nice, with a full complement of lifeguards who are very alert. The breakfast selection is comprehensive, and the staff are great at showing you to your table. The hardware, however, is truly just average; the rooms are quite dated.

The hotel is a bit old, but the overall cleanliness isn't compromised. The room size is very generous, and the spacious room coupled with the classic design style gives off an old-school luxury vibe. The staff are all polite and enthusiastic, and the location is simply unbeatable. Most of the famous restaurants are within a kilometer, making it perfect for a relaxing vacation rather than a rush-through itinerary.

Many negative reviews mention a musty smell, but it's not must; it's the smell of cheap furniture, cheap wood mixed with glue. We escaped after just one night, despite planning to stay for three. This hotel is a complete disaster, from its hard amenities to its soft services. First, the hardware: I already mentioned the strange room odor. Next, the elevators. This hotel has a lot of guests, and while there are six elevators and they move fast, you still have to wait an incredibly long time. To make matters worse, there are food delivery robots that disrupt everything. These things just barge in no matter how many people are already inside, and guests can't do anything about them. I suggest getting rid of them. The bathroom is huge, but the problem is that in a four-meter-long bathroom, the toilet takes up less than half a meter, making it incredibly cramped when you're using it. Then there's this terrible showerhead; you have to turn it off *just right* or it'll keep dripping, and finding that 'just right' spot is nearly impossible. Okay, now for the service, which is something you *can* fix. As soon as I entered, the doorman took my suitcase, then just left it by the side. It stayed there until I finished checking in. Let the doorman do whatever he's busy with, but I don't understand why he even bothered taking my suitcase in the first place. I had booked a room with an extra bed for my child, and during check-in, they told me it was already made. When we got to the room, it was completely empty. It took half an hour of phone calls before a staff member finally brought the bed over. And then, take a look at the extra bed in the second photo. How dirty is that? You claim to be a five-star hotel, but are you really *******?

The room was a bit dated, and while the bathroom was large, the bedding was uncomfortable. The duvet was too thick, and I kept waking up feeling hot. Breakfast was just okay; there was a wide variety, but not many tasty options, which felt inconsistent with the 1000+ price tag. However, the swimming pool was really good!
