Breakfast and Food: The breakfast is often highlighted for its delicious and varied options, including local and international dishes. Guests appreciate the effort to accommodate dietary restrictions and the overall quality of the food provided during their stay.

We stayed at this hotel for a short two-day family vacation, mainly using it as a base while visiting nearby attractions. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Out of the three rooms we booked, two had issues with air conditioning. Most notably, Room 8 on the second floor had a completely non-functional AC throughout our stay. Despite reporting the issue multiple times, the staff continued to downplay the problem, insisting the AC was working fine. They would merely adjust the settings on the remote, claiming the unit was outdated and difficult to operate. After five separate complaints, it was only when we reached out to the owner that we finally received an apology, which should have come much earlier. Another disappointing aspect was the clear difference in how local and foreign guests were treated. The staff appeared uninterested in assisting local guests, while going out of their way to cater to foreigners. One staff member, Udara, seemed more focused on sharing personal stories with guests, perhaps to gain sympathy or tips, than on providing actual service. When we asked for water glasses, we were handed dusty glasses and Tupperware, which we had to clean ourselves. To make matters worse, a staff member rudely told us to “take a shower first” when we simply inquired if the pool was safe to swim in as it was raining. We understand basic etiquette as we've been to much more luxurious places throughout Sri Lanka and overseas, and such condescending remarks are completely uncalled for. The total bill was LKR 90,000 for two nights, which is steep for a 3-star property, which has amenities of a 1 star in my opinion, especially given the service we received. After our complaints, it was reduced slightly to LKR 86,000, a token gesture that didn’t reflect the seriousness of the issues faced. In summary, the hospitality at this establishment was disappointing. I would not recommend it to local guests. As for international travelers, if you value fairness and equality in service, I would suggest looking elsewhere as well. To the owner—if you're reading this, I strongly urge you to consider professional training for your staff or to hire experienced personnel, as this experience does not reflect the warmth and hospitality Sri Lanka is known for.
