JI Hotel (Datong Dayou Plaza)

Location: The hotel is well-located and easy to find, just a short, minimum-fare taxi ride from the Old Town. Room: The room was quite spacious, very clean, and the environment was quiet. The mattress was comfortable, and all beverages were complimentary. Breakfast: The breakfast was plentiful and offered a wide variety of options, catering to different regional tastes. The noodle chef was particularly helpful, advising guests on toppings and quantities for the noodles. Service: The front desk area had an open layout, and the service staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall: We frequently choose Quanji Hotels for both leisure and business travel, and my wife commented that this is the best Quanji property she has ever stayed at.

Both the location and room comfort were superb. The service was excellent too, and they even prepared a generous fruit platter along with a comforting evening porridge. Breakfast was also fantastic, offering a wide variety of choices, and the hygiene was impeccable. Quji Hotel is always my go-to choice whenever I travel. It's a shame I forgot to take any photos this time!

The hotel is very well-equipped and kept impeccably clean. The staff provided exceptionally warm and welcoming service. We were pleasantly surprised by the welcome fruit, including oranges, tomatoes, and cucumbers. The overall atmosphere was excellent. But the absolute highlight was the hotel breakfast – it was simply phenomenal! The location is also fantastic, very close to the ancient city, making it easy to reach by shared bicycle or a pleasant walk.

I was quite pleased with the room, and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. While the breakfast selection wasn't particularly extensive, the food tasted really good – I actually found it more enjoyable than breakfast at some very expensive five-star hotels. My only minor complaint is that breakfast only starts at 7 AM. If you plan to get an early start to visit the Yungang Grottoes, you won't be able to have breakfast. I hope they consider moving the start time to 6:30 AM.

The JI Hotel Dayou Plaza branch boasts excellent facilities and a pleasant environment. The staff are also very polite, and the service is exceptionally attentive. After experiencing the room facilities, I feel some improvements would make my stay even more satisfying. 1. The only ceramic cups in the room were for brushing teeth or rinsing. For regular drinking, there were only two paper cups and a small tea set. The cups were quite small, which made drinking water inconvenient. It would be much better if the paper cups were replaced with ceramic ones. 2. It would be significantly better if the lights in the toilet and shower area were not connected to the vanity lights outside. Sometimes, children go to bed earlier, but if parents need light to shower, they have to turn on the vanity lights as well, which can disturb those who are sleeping. This design feels a bit inconsiderate. 3. The water pressure in the shower was a bit too strong. The faucet design was poor; to get hot water, you had to turn the handle far to the left, which resulted in very high pressure. If you didn't turn it that far left, the pressure was fine, but the water wasn't hot enough. This design was quite frustrating. Finally, I must give a huge shout-out to the hotel's buffet breakfast. It was truly excellent! There was a wide variety of options, including various noodles, fruits, stir-fried dishes, cold appetizers, bread, and much more. The selection was abundant, and the supply was plentiful. I stayed for two nights, and the hot dishes at the buffet breakfast were mostly different each day, which was a very nice touch. I would definitely consider staying at JI Hotel again.

I booked this hotel, and as expected, the service was absolutely fantastic – incredibly attentive and accommodating. The lobby was spotless and thoughtfully provided complimentary fresh fruits, vegetables, coffee, popsicles, and even a late-night porridge. Our room also came with a fridge, which was a lovely surprise as it was stocked with complimentary Coke and Sprite. Truly excellent!
