La Casona de la Ronda Hotel Boutique & Luxury Apartments

A delightful hacienda ideally located for the old part of the city. We spent 2 nights here and the staff were very helpful, breakfasts were good. We only had our 1st of many potato soups with cheese and avocado eaten while we were in Ecuador and this was tasty. My only negative was the room was quite dark as it on the back of the hotel overlooking a tiny courtyard below with little natural light but as we were jet lagged maybe this was no bad thing. Bathroom was fine with a shower.

This hotel is stunning it’s situated in the oldest street in Quito and is a converted colonial house. On arrival we were upgraded to a suite which was just superb. Fully equipped kitchen with complimentary filter coffee , separate dining and lounge area , fully functional bathroom and shower with complimentary toiletries. On our return we had a room on the first floor with interesting views over the local area the furniture is all carved wood and the shower to die for. Breakfast is served downstairs and is plentiful with omelettes and fried eggs on offer. We had dinner in the restaurant which was of a good standard and reasonably priced. Just a word of advice the suites are about 100 metres away from the hotel on a steep incline so be aware if you have mobility issues

A great little hotel. In maybe the best location in the historic district. Really enjoyed our 4 days. Food was excellent. Service also. Front desk staff helped us find a great tour to the volcano, cable car, statue of the Virgin Mary and lunch. Great guide. Sorry I’m not good with names! Great value at 40us per person. Highly recommend

This a hotel with a bit of charm and character. Our room also has the widest bed I have ever slept in - positioned at either end it was possible for our hands not to touch both at full armspan! The breakfast spread was not as luxurious as in some hotels we stayed in but the egg station served up some comparable quality fare. In addition, the croque monsieur we had as a late afternoon snack / alternative to dinner was particularly good! The hotel was very accommodating about printing a 15 page document for me free of charge and also supplying some oxygen to our room when my girlfriend eventually realised she was suffering with the altitude! They also happily put the Champions League semi final on their big (giant) tv with English commentary. Security was very visible and provided a sort of personal protection detail for my girlfriend whenever she stepped outside to vape. This, alongside the remote lock that sounds like a prison gate being opened(!) does, however, have the double edged effect of making one feel a little hyper sensitive about safety! The only slight issue with the hotel is that because it is built around a central courtyard it is noisy when guests arrive/depart during the night. And because of flight times to/from the Galapagos and Quito this is quite a common occurrence. This hotel is differentiated from slightly more corporate / super-luxury alternatives but will still satisfy people used to that standard of accommodation. The service was excellent and they were very accommodating. No gym etc. We found a good little laundrette within a five minute walk that washed our entire accumulation of dirty clothes for something like five dollars….

We stayed in three different boutique hotels in Quito and La Casona de la Ronda was our favorite. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, the whole building and the common space with a fireplace were really beautiful, and the rooms were lovely. The breakfasts were generous and delicious. We especially appreciated that the coffee and meal was ready to go for us at 6 AM so we could catch a flight! The reception desk manager spoke wonderful English, which made transactions easy for us and he arranged transport to and from the airport, which all went flawlessly. The hotel is centrally located and you can easily walk to important sites. Like elsewhere we stayed, they were concerned about our safety in the city, and encouraged us to take precautions. Highly recommend.

I stayed at this place with my fiancé on 2 different occasions. On both stays we stayed in the apartments which is less than a block away from the actual hotel. The apartments were very modern and had all the appliances we needed. There was also a guard nearby so that made us feel a lot safer when we were coming back late at night. The hotel had very good service and they even helped arrange transportation for us when we requested it. Overall, the staff here are very attentive and the hotel itself is gorgeous! We would frequently go to the hotel for breakfast, which had a large selection of foods, and to lounge in the common area where they served hot drinks and snacks in the afternoon for free. I would highly recommend this place because I honestly think it’s one of the more safer areas in Quito.

This hotel is in a quiet street at the edge of the old town. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The hotel is gorgeous inside with plants everywhere. The staff are all really friendly and welcoming. They have drivers you can book to take you to and from the airport or to take you around Quito. They are very nice and reliable. We ate there one evening and had a very good meal. They make a super Pisco Sour! If we were going to Quito again we would definitely stay there.

We stayed at La Casona de La Ronda before and after our trip to Galapagos. Our rooms were wonderful - spacious, comfortable. The hotel is in a very good location, is historic and beautifully decorated, has very comfortable lounge area, afternoon treats/coffee/tea, delicious breakfast. The website pictures are truthful. We felt very welcomed and well taken care of. The restaurant was fabulous, affordable and had many offerings. We particularly liked the potato soup. Even when we were sitting in the hotel lobby having a drink and playing cards, we were able to order from the restaurant menu. Very accommodating and highly recommended.
