Loch Ness Lodge Hotel

Amazing, friendly service! Highly recommend anyone visiting the region to visit this wonderful lodge and the extremely friendly service!! Amazing views and even better food catering for all allergies/intolerances. Also a great location in terms to the Loch!

The hotel, our room, the staff all really superb. We LOVED everything about it. The view from our room was overlooking the Loch, and what a view!!! Relaxing in one of the lounge area's, playing scrabble and enjoying a superb bottle of red wine in the evening, what more could you need? The only downside was that the spa wasnt available, I understand there was a plumbing issue, but this didnt deter us from having a superb stay. There is no restaurant in the hotel itself, they will gladly book you a table in the hotel right next door, the menu there does look superb. We were there for my wife's birthday, and we were booked into the hotel next door for dinner on her birthday evening. Unfortunately the chef had a family emergency, the Loch Ness Lodge staff, not only booked us a table at their sister hotel some miles away, they even booked and paid for a taxi there and back for us! Exceptional customer service as far as I'm concerned. We will return, we enjoyed our stay that much.

The hotel owners and staff are very friendly. The restaurant is totally outstanding with food quality second to none. Truly first class. Looking forward to more visits. The surrounding areas around lochness are stunning

Staff were very courteous and friendly. Breakfast buffet was beyond expectations, rooms were adequate and beds were comfy. Loved the old school style of the place. For the price you can not beat the service and accommodations. Other hotels in the area were much more expensive. Loved the old school vibe and the receptionist was very friendly. The owner runs the bar and is probably older than the hotel, but he adds to the quirkiness of the place. For 130 pounds, you can't ask for much more.

This one is a no from me. Only thing keeping this from a 1* is the food. Pro’s: The food! - We ate in the restaurant the night of our stay and was the best meal we had all holiday. Stunning food! However, £4.50 for a small bottle or sparkling water is not acceptable FYI! They do not offer “table water”. - The breakfast was also the best overall we had. Buffet option, food was good and hot, the chef continually bringing more to replenish. Options of cooked or continental, all good. Cons: Everything else! - It is dirty. The room was disgusting and had not been cleaned properly. Dust everywhere, previous guests rubbish and used cups still lying around. The bathroom was a disgrace. We booked because it had a tub but didn’t dare use the tub for all the grime in it. Not good at all! - Tired property. It is beautiful in the way that it is highly devoted to its Scottish roots, but it’s clear there is no money to renovate, which is a shame. - Location I didn’t think was great. Thought it was far out for Lochness activities, personally. - Connected to Museum next door where the staff’s language was as colourful as the walls! Would be furious if I had children and they were speaking like that! - Staff in general I didn’t find hospitable. I would not return. Was VERY expensive - £130 for a night. Not good at all.

This hotel gave us exactly what we needed -- a place to sleep for the night on our way down the Great Glen Way. The staff was friendly and helpful but other than that the room was very small and uncomfortable, with bulky, standard (sterile) hotel furniture, the shower could not keep a consistent temperature, and the outdated hairdryers kept overheating and stopped working. WiFi did not stretch to the rooms. There is so much potential for this gorgeous building but there are surely much nicer places to stay in Drumnadrochit given its current condition.

Plenty of car parking, good location. Receptionist was friendly. Room (and hotel) dated, room itself was clean but bathroom wasn't. Food was nice, but expensive, as were drinks. OK for a night, but needs investment and updating

Cons: The hotel is outdated, the room was not clean, the wifi doesn’t reach the rooms - we were told, and they were right, the dining area was serviced by two staff - a new girl, whom in the Fawlty Tours like ambient, was kind and apologetic, and a Russian speaking older woman who wasn’t happy to be there at all and made it clear by waving her hand dismissively at us when we asked “should we order with you or go up to the bar?”, we had to help the table next to us because they unfortunately asked the same question and got the same monosyllabic grunt. The new girl said “yes sorry- and to think, that’s her resting face!” Food was fine. Not great, not terrible. We chose not to eat there (for breakfast or dinner) the following day. The old man- presumably the owner, is entertaining- not in the Frank Sinatra way entertaining, more in the “ohmygodhowmanydaysarewehere?” entertaining. Rooms are “cleaned” but it’s more “we make your bed and maybe fold your towels”, we had long black hairs stuck to the walls of the bathroom from the time we entered to the time we checked out. We wouldn’t return, it was kind of creepy, old, tired (in both room and staff) and a musty dusty smell- that I still can’t get out of my suitcase. Pro: we laughed and laughed and laughed a lot. We tried to see the highlights from it all, so we laughed a lot. The beds are reasonably comfortable. We will remember it for a while.

The front desk staff was so helpful and kind. She was quick checking us in and showed us to our rooms. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was absolutely amazing. The hotel decor makes you feel right at home in the highlands of Loch Ness. I would definitely stay here again.
