Hotel Ventus

For the cost and location, this was perfect for us. The accommodation (our room) was in need of a refurbishment, but the room we were provided was large, clean and fresh and came with a very large balcony. Staff were friendly and polite. We were here for one night and chose this hotel for it's location near to the airport (Between 5 to 10 minutes by car). There is a supermarket within a few minutes walk, nice restaurants around the area and parking is also free around the area. Walking down to the sea front takes around 5 minutes. The hotel desk does not have someone sitting at it all the time, so if you arrive late, you will need to call staff to get access and check in. The access (Front door), is locked at night and you need a key card to enter. For a one night stay, we would recommend and return back. During our stay, the staff seem to constantly be cleaning the lift, making it out of order for a time, so be warned that if your on the top floor and in a rush to leave, you may need to walk down the stairs. It's not obvious that the lift is out or order while it is being cleaned or drying out due to cleaning services.

Don't believe the pretty pictures... this is a 2 star hotel and don't expect more.. El Médano is well known for its high wind seasons, but if the windows don't close properly (even that the curtains move in time with the wind) and the air conditioner installed outside makes a terrible noise, hitting the wall on time with the wind (not to mention the noise in the hallway because the doors don’t isolate anything at all) then you can’t ask for $100 a night and tell the client that these are “weather conditions”.. sorry, but these are the hotel’s conditions.. There is no kettle with hot water, even if you ask (although the website says ask and you will receive..) and this is for $100 per night.. Ahhh yes.. don’t be surprise by the waterfall noise in the middle of the night.. it’s your neighbor go to WC.. The room is quite large.. but empty and with very poor equipment

On arrival at 11 am nobody on reception. Had tp phone. On return at 15.00 still nobody on reception. Had to ring again. Young man with bad attitude came out after ringing yet again and checked us in. No tv in living room , only in bedroom. No remote control so unable to use television not even in bedroom. From 19.00 in room with nothing to do. What’s that all about??

Rates are expensive for the accommodation. Holes in towels and shower was tepid. Service very much like a hostel. No eating facilities reception only open a few hours a day.

Budget hotel near the airport, great for buses which were regular even on NewYears Day! Managed to get to the airport using 2 buses no problem. It is functional, little balcony but no view and rather overlooked by balcony next door. Close to sea front and walks and bars etc. Definitely a functional approach but worked for a night or two.

We paid for a room with 1 queen bed and 2 sofa beds for one couple and two single people. There was only 1 sofa bed in the room so the two single people had to share. The hotel claimed that the mistake was made by ******* and your representative claimed the mistake was made by the hotel. Nothing was resolved and we, the customers, were lost out. The hotel offered us breakfast and then did not cover the whole cost.

Clean. No frill budget hotel. Convenient when transitioning to/from airport. Front desk could be friendlier and really needs to extend check-in and check out hours. Asked for late check in and was refused even though received an email offering that option.
