Elounda Heights (Adults Only)

Now we were already the third time in the hotel Elounda Heights and we were again enthusiastic. On the one hand, there is the unique view of the bay of Mirabello, the approx. 20 excellently equipped vacation apartments, one of which we had very close to the pool, the large inviting pool, and on the other hand the star cuisine that senior chef Vangelis offers. And in general the whole lovely family that runs the hotel and their equally sympathetic and efficient team -- all of them alone are a reason to come back. Those who want to enjoy the star cuisine can either do so a la carte or sign up by 4:00 p.m. for the Daily Special, the ingredients of which are then purchased fresh. And then there's the well-stocked pool bar, which also serves tasty snacks until 7 p.m. and many tasty drinks, e.g. several Cretan brands of Craft Beer, which are served in chilled glasses, and an excellent house wine. For dinner there is something special several times a week. Once there was a (fortunately discreetly quiet) piano accompaniment, on another evening again the wine tasting with multi-course menu -- all perfectly coordinated. In the end, it's no wonder that we want to come back. The Elounda Heights is one of our two favorite Cretan hotels. But: book in time, there are many regulars who come back again and again.

I don’t tend to book package holidays, I prefer to research and find our holidays myself. This one intrigued me, could it be as good as its reviews? Answer - Totally, in fact probably better. I wanted authentic unspoilt Greek and that’s what this is with a touch of class. From our arrival until departure we were treated as family. The warmth and friendship in this place is unmeasurable. The staff go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. A small staff mean you get that individual attention. The owners, Natalia and Kostas, have built on and created something very special. The clue is in the name, Heights, so expect it to be high up a steep hill. The views are amazing, it’s a short walk to the village and just get a taxi back. We had the panoramic view deluxe apartment. It was extremely spacious and excellently equipped. A huge bed and so very comfortable. Modern bathroom with large walk in shower. Air conditioning in the bedroom was fabulous. Housekeeping come in every day, towels and bed linen changed regularly, pool towels provided separately and everywhere is immaculately clean. The pool bar/cafe serve great food and drinks through the day and the restaurant, open evenings, offers fabulous food all cook by Vangelis the original business owner and Natalia’s father. Such a wonderful man, so kind and a truly amazing chef. Theme nights are superb, we did the Greek wine tasting night with meal and had a fabulous Greek meze night. Katarina makes a superb cocktail and Demitra waits on your every need. George and Cleo in the pool bar are excellent too. Breakfast needs its own mention. Every day you are served breads and homemade jams, accompanied with a tray of extra delights of homemade cake, pastries, delicacies, it changes every day. Awesome. Then there is a breakfast menu to choose from. Expect to gain weight! The village is close by, small and friendly, and lots of restaurants to choose from. I thought no where was perfect, but I can’t find a fault with this place. It’s outstanding in its field. So just to make sure, we’ve booked to go back next year!! We have been to Elounda Heights many times now. This year was a little different as we visited with our adult daughters and did a little more exploring than we normally do. Elounda Heights, as in all of our previous visits, is just perfect. The rooms are all comfortable with stunning views across the bay and are kept immaculate by Christina. Each year little improvements are made throughout the hotel to make each stay even better. The breakfasts are amazing with breads with home made jams, different home made pastries and a choice of lovely Cretan dishes washed down with freshly sqeezed orange juice and coffee. Dinner each day (usually the special) were delicious and the views as night falls are extra special. The light lunches served by the pool are just as good, some of the best salads I have ever eaten. From lounging by the pool to having an after dinner cocktail in the bar this is just the most relaxing place in the world. Huge thanks to Kostas, Natalia, Vangelis, Ann and all of your very special team for making this year's stay every bit as good, if not better, than all of our other visits. We shall see you again next year!

Thoroughly recommend. Family run friendly relaxed atmosphere. No request is to much from guidance on where to go & what to see, to different food choices in the restaurant. Breakfast is excellent as are all the meals. Wine tasting night was great. The accommodation is comfortable. Pool area is lovely with stunning views. Would come again as have many of the guests staying here. Main highlight are the staff who really take care of you

This was our first visit to this hotel, having previously stayed at Elounda Garden Suites. We thought we’d try a different one for a change! We were happy with our decision. Elounda Heights is as the name suggests… on top of a big hill. The upside of this is the views which are spectacular. The downside can be overcome with a taxi - six euros to come up (we tipped so normally paid ten) and taxis easy to get in the square. We walked up three times in the day time and it’s doable but not easy. I also don’t recommend walking down in heels, did it once and not fun. So in balance the views are probably worth the effort and don’t let the hill put you off. We stayed in ‘Daphne’, a one bedroom apartment on the ground floor. It was comfortable, clean, spacious, good air con and fridge, lots of coat hangers, decent shower, amazing hair dryer. The hotel supplies towels for pool or beach which was a bonus. Breakfast was very good and extremely friendly, worth paying for. The water in the pool was chilly but it was all immaculate. Comfortable sun loungers. We ate in restaurant twice and it was enjoyable. Overall we enjoyed our stay there and would recommend this hotel. My husband is very keen to return next year!

Absolutely beautiful setting . Natalie and her team look after their customers exceptionally well. The breakfasts and food in the restaurant were high quality and delicious. They allowed us to get married in their garden and could not have been more helpful or kinder. Extra thanks to Ritsa in front of house for helping with this too! Our first visit to Elounda Heights , but they have a returning clientele for good reason . Very relaxed and a stunning place .

We found Elounda Heights by chance, but such a lucky chance! It is truly an amazing place. We are just back from our 3rd stay and we are still as delighted with Elounda as we were on our 1st visit. The views are stunning and watching the sunrise from our balcony was magical. The restaurant setting is beautiful and the food cooked by Vangelis is sublime. Breakfast by the pool is another gastronomic delight. Everyone is so friendly, enveloping you as part of their extended family.

We had a fabulous 4 night stay. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Natalia was always on hand and extremely friendly and helpful. We had left our travel adapter in our previous hotel and the staff very kindly sorted us another one with no trouble. Thank you so much. Our room was gorgeous. We were in Pan (superior studio with sea view). Fabulous view and a huge double level terrace. The room had a comfy bed with aircon and a fridge and cooker top. Everything you could need! We ate in the restaurant twice and the food prepared by Vangelis was superb at a reasonable price. No complaints. The pool area is very peaceful. Nice pool bar and comfortable sunbeds. We always prefer a beach and found a fabulous beach 25 mins away "Voulisma Beach" beautiful sandy beach as the one in Elounda is quite stoney and not the best sand. Absolutely loved Elounda what a beautiful resort. Could not have chosen a better hotel. It is just lovely. Yes there is a hill to climb to get to and from resort but take it easy and you can do it in 10 mins easy. The views from the hotel are worth it. Thank you Elounda Heights for a fabulous stay.

What a wonderful place, the most fantastic views, very comfortable rooms ( ours was a superior studio with terrace) , the beds very comfy, small kitchen with everything you could ever want, and the terrace was huge with two sunbeds and a table and chairs. The staff I cannot describe, excellent just isn’t good enough, attentive, respectful, caring, and they all work so hard to give you a memorable experience. The surroundings, pool, bar, cafe area, restaurant and gardens are lovely and there’s always a sunbed to be had in the main area at any time-of day. No wonder this place gets so much repeat business, you will never want to leave! There is a hill, we easily walked down, up is definitely taxing in the heat but so we often opted for the one of the many taxis at 6 euro, it was worth every penny! We ate in three times for dinner and it was excellent, Vangelis is a wonderful chef and it’s worth staying in for, although there are also many lovely places down the hill. Lunch by the pool bar was very reasonable, tasty and always served with a smile even when every table was taken and Chloe was run off her feet, they have a lovely atmosphere and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, we will definitely come back and we rarely go anywhere twice!
