Hotel la Villa Eugene

Highly recommend staying here if you are doing any tours of the Champagne region. You can either walk within 5 minutes of the many of the top producers for tasting or hire a guide for a full day tour. The hotel well-appointed and staff was very helpful during and in advance of our stay. We stayed in room 11, it is very large and comfortable. The only improvement we would suggest the room about ours (room 11) every time someone walked around their room the cathedral rattled which was loud and annoying. Otherwise we stayed 2 nights and did enjoy the experience

I almost never give a 1 star however the staff during the day of 10/27 was so rude and disrespectful we were shocked. Horrible experience we would not recommend this hotel to anyone. They should reconsider who they have representing their hotel. Additionally the told us that during the day they had to “keep” our room key because it was too heavy and we could get hurt carrying it?!! They also told us we would be locked out of the property after 11pm if we didn’t use a code at the gate. The rooms were very small and amenities were poor. We stayed 1 night which was more than enough!!! Do not recommend!!!

This hotel should not be a 5 star hotel. The first room we were out on was very sad, small, dated, dark and ugly without even a proper shower. When we told the front desk we were prepared to leave to stay in another hotel because we were so disappointed the lady said they would charge us for the full stay anyway even though we were enormously disappointed with the property. We were shown a second room which had an overpowering smell of vomit. We took the room simply because every other hotel in the area was fully booked. We had to air out the room for an hour to try to get rid of the smell. There was mold in the shower, long black hairs on the bedroom floor, disgusting carpet that was filthy to the eye. When we checked for bedbugs, which we don’t usually do but felt like we had to because the hotel seemed so dirty, we saw that the base of the bed had mold spots on it. The breakfast was very basic and completely pathetic so we only had breakfast at the hotel on the first morning. The other mornings we went into Epernay for breakfast (Matin Gourmand was great). Upon checkout, despite our enormous disappointment, the lady at reception tried to charge us for parking even though we had never been informed of a parking fee. The hotel is grossly overrated as a 5 star property. It should be listed as 3 star at best. The owners are clearly not investing in the property and trying to make extra money from hidden parking fees and overcharging for a horrendous breakfast. It feels like the owners have run out of money. A very, very sad property to which I wouldn’t never, ever return. Awful!

Wonderful staff and beautiful property, but space in rooms not quite functional. Had to move around sideways in certain spaces. Difficult to shower without door opening and soaking floor. At 5'6", I was fine, but my 6'2" husband kept bumping into everything 😂

A truly elegant and sophisticated place to stay. The welcome was very warm and efficient. Our room was beautifully appointed and the bed was extremely comfortable. The only downside was when we asked reception to book us into a restaurant that had been highly recommended to us the young man on duty was not helpful and booked us into another restaurant (which was okay) giving us the reason that the restaurant was fully booked, however when we went into our preferred restaurant after having eaten at the restaurant he had booked we found out that there would have been a table available to us at the time we wanted. The staff at breakfast time were an absolute delight and cheerfully accommodated our choices

The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and the hotel is absolutely beautiful. It has lots of amenities and is a short walk to the centre of Epernay . Breakfast wasn’t brilliant for us but it may have been a glitch on the days we were there.

Loved this hotel. Very nice and peaceful location. Also easy walk to town and many champagne houses. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Daily fresh baked breads. Enjoyed the champagne bar and great choices of small and large producers. Pool area very nice. Staff was excellent and helpful .

We loved the pool, but the traffic is quite loud so it’s hard to really relax by the pool. Walking distance to everything. We were charged for parking which wasnt ideal. I think we were charged for 2 days of parking although it was really 24 hours ( one day) as we had only booked one night. Staff were very friendly and eager to show us around the property.
