Premier Inn East Grinstead

On arrival, the receptionist was lovely and pleasant, and gave our son a packet of sweets and a fruit shoot when we arrived. However, the room we stayed in wasn't pleasant. We'd found a few ants crawling around but the window was open presumably after cleaning, so we thought it was just a rogue few! However, on waking up in the morning we found no less than 15 of them crawling around. On the floor & beds, on the shelves and table and a few in the bathroom aswell. We told the receptionist in the morning and he said he'd get it checked out. Such a shame as the first impressions where really good.

My room faced the road and trucks started rumbling by just before 8 am. I was disappointed to learn that breakfast is only served for two hours from 730 to 930. The bathroom is in need of modernisation, not even having mixer taps on the sink - so you get cold water or scalding water. The decor in the room itself wasn’t bad and the staff were friendly and helpful when I checked in late at night

We normally have no problems with a Premier Inn stay. You get what you pay for however this is not the case at East Grinstead. Horrible experience from start to finish. Complete mix up with the rooms even though I had called and confirmed everything. Very grumpy guy in reception who wanted to make it very obvious he was too ill to help in anyway. Staff had no idea how to use the new booking system. Premier Inn please train your staff and let them take the day off if they are poorly!!

A pleasant stay in a pretty basic hotel at a good price. The staff, both in the hotel and the adjacent Chef and Brewer where the hotel meals were served, were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was pretty basic but it did the job.

I received wonderful customer service by Derek on reception. It was clear from the start, this gentleman is focused on providing the best customer experience possible. It was very apparent that he would go above and beyond in his duties to achieve this. A highly rated individual who is a credit to your company. Many thanks.

Lovely hotel and staff, the beds were comfy and the room cozy. Just what we needed. Not a fan of shower heads that are non removable and would have liked to see hot chocolate sachets as an option with the drinks in the room. Small personal views but I would stay here again despite them.

Very happy with our stay the night before flying from Gatwick. The room was clean and comfortable, the pub was very nice and good for dinner. The morning receptionist was very helpful and came to our rescue when we had forgotten to print some of our holiday paperwork ( on line not available for these papers). So pleased that we chose this hotel.

Damp dity room. The walls and ceilings are so thin. Creaking and banging when people move around. You open the door and are greeted with the smell of damp. Lots of damage in the bathroom and bedroom. Carpet stains everywhere. Dirt in every corner. Breakfast is aweful. All the pastries were hard and old. Didn't get what I ordered with the cooked breakfast.

Stayed before and all fine. This time as soon as I opened door overpowering smell of damp and mould. Opened window and curtain fell down. Mould in room. I coughed all night and my clothes smelled of damp next day. Would stay again but request upper room or request to move if I get the same problem in future
