Where do I even start? The Tui staff are fantastic from the minute you get to the UK airport, meet your reps at Kittila airport until you check in back at the airport when you sadly have to go home! If you want to have fun in the snow, experience so many new things and do all of this in a relaxed, friendly and absolutely beautiful environment then I cannot recommend this place enough. From taster sessions to sledging to slides made from the snowy hills, toasted marshmallows, beery juice, local biscuits, fun and games in the evening and on every trip! Then you can pay extra for trips for full snow mobile, husky and reindeer experiences which were totally fantastic experiences and worth the money in my personal opinion, we didn't do the reindeer the other two were fantastic trips. The hotel staff are all so friendly and brilliant and so very helpful. The place is so idyllic in the middle of a national park with nothing but phenomenal views everywhere you look. The rooms are basic but comfortable and with all the snow outside and your slippers you will be very comfortable. There are people everywhere in pyjamas, you could easily get away with packing base layes, pyjamas and slippers and just some clothes for the plane. I have been lucky to stay in some amazing places in the world but this one is certianly up there with some of the best and definitely most unique. Moving on to the food we were full board and I have several random food allergies (not the normal ones). Yet I have never been catered too so well. The amount of food they made for me specifically and ensured at every meal I was informed what I could and couldn't eat and every meal was absolutely amazing. The chef is fantastic. I am defintiely missing the food since being home!! And to the reason you are visiting Lapland over the festive period with your kids in tow! Make sure you take the kleenex as you will leave with tears!! What an experience!! So to round this review off, life is made for experiences and this is one certainly not to be missed. If you are thinking about it, book it, you will not be disappointed.

An absolutely amazing place. Honestly the most magical place you will ever go during the festive period. Yes rooms are basic and dated but your in there to put your head down that's it. All staff are lovely we went with tui and they were just as brilliant. However they know how to sting you on hot chocolates, haha, would have literally been perfect if these were included in the all inclusive but never the less we have booked to go back next year x

Tui reps, elves at hotel, entertainment (Luke) and other, hotel staff were all just fab. Loads to do and set up by tui reps and elves from sledging, husky rides, camp fires, games, party's. We have 2 boys 10 and 6. Unbelievable experience... even seing santa on last day with there letters that were sent from UK ;). Once in a life time experience this is. This hotel is situated in the middle of a national park and we stayed for a night on our way to Nordkap/Cape North in Norway. The hotel and its facilities is nordic rustique which is normal cause it is a lot of hiking and skiing going on at this place. The restaurant is top-notch and a reason to come back! Do watch out for Santas reindeers though cause it is a lot of them!

Ski resorts tend towards party, bars and booze although many visitors come to Lapland for the nature, the amazing fells, the quiet and the awe. Although there ought to be, at present, there are no organic, green sustainability respecting resorts, yet Pallas Hotel comes close to it. With its exquisite gourmet food, refusal to refurbish everything with plastic and new paint, its ice swimming pond, incredible views, history and tradition, it is the only Finnish hotel that qualifies as a Nordic equivalent to an alpine resort. The dozen fell tops at your fingertips, the wooden interiors, the laid back homely ambiance, the wild fauna and flora, the quiet, the views, the library rooms, the kitchen, the kitchen and the kitchen, and the chef... It is a gem for nature and hiking lovers.

My husband and I travelled here on Boxing Day with our 9 year old son for a Tui Santa trip. It has been one of the most magical times of our lives. Well organised by omnipresent Tui Reps, you arrive in the wilderness of a snow drenched National Park via a circuit of tree-lined roads where Reindeer can be spotted amongst the trees and yours are the first tyre tracks of the day. You’re greeted by elves at the airport, cheekily throwing snowballs, who accompany you throughout on the extra trips and offer a host of activities for kids and grown ups from snow shoeing and husky sleighs to camp fire songs and 24 hour sledging. The elves are magnificent, multi-lingual, informative, ever perky and full of wonder. We stayed 3 nights - Enjoying a reindeer ride on a frozen lake (slow but extraordinary), a trip to the Snow Village (jaw dropping carving) and an extra Huskey Ride through a moonlit forest (just wow). We met Mrs Claus who sat with us quietly and gently, listening to our son with such beautiful attention. We met her husband as part of the Festive Finale on the final night - appearing as he does in the snow and then meeting families one by one with equal measure of quiet mystery. Faintly but still there, we saw the Northern Lights in a star pricked sky on our final night. The hotel itself is a fell hotel, built for skiing and walking sometime after the war. The staff are gentle and kind. The rooms are more akin to youth hostels - basic but functional and perfect for getting in and out of layers of snowy garb. They are warm and you can’t open a window - so be sure to pack some lighter things to sleep in. It is so relaxed and easy. The food is fine - Finnish, buffet style. And there’s always snacks and sweets around - little cakes and drinks. If I came again I’d have packed my slippers to pad around the hotel in. All this with the backdrop of the national park in all its winter beauty. I could have stayed in its silence forever.

Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park is amazing and the nature is very unique. Visitors can go cross country skiing, snowboarding, free skiing, snowshoeing etc. The food in the restaurant is very good and traditional for Lapland. Pallaksen Pöllöt which is a local skiing school teachers fellowship arranges all kinds of activities during your stay. These experiences are one of a kind. The hotel is very dated. I’ve visited there for nearly 30 years now and no changes or renovations have been done. It would be shame not to renovate the hotel because the location is so unique. The truth is that the price is way too high for that level. The history of Pallas should be valued and respected, now the management is only ruining it and letting the hotel grow moldy.
