Darif's Riad & Spa

The Riad itself was lovely and in a great location, however the customer service and their willingness to problem solve was extremely poor. We had travelled throughout Morocco for two weeks and have loved and appreciated all of our other accommodations, this was definitely inferior. Firstly, the bathroom had a problem with a leaking shower, which resulted in flooding the tiles leading to the bedroom. This in itself was not a problem for us, as we could solve it with additional towels, however when we asked the manager for additional towels to soak up the water we were refused and told we could only have two. The following day we explained the problem and again (wondering if he hadn’t understood the problem) and he said yes he understood but was not willing to solve the issue and we were ignored and only given 1 bath towel! Additionally our room fronted onto the foyer, and the curtains were sheer so people could look into the room as they were passing ! It was very weird and we were so uncomfortable when we were in our room. The lights in the passage remained on all night shining through the ‘curtain less’ windows so it was impossible to sleep. Finally, the breakfast was ridiculously slow, and extremely poor quality. We’re not fussy eaters and don’t have high standards but this was horrid! There was never anyone in reception to speak to, no matter what time you were there, the staff were just disinterested and really didn’t give a damn. We have not come across this anywhere else in Morocco, everywhere else was amazing. Seriously, don’t stay here!

After a tour of the City of Fes during my first trip to Morocco, I was taken by my tour guide to Darif's Riad for a cooking lesson with the Chef of the Riad. The staff was absolutely lovely to me for the entire duration of my stay with them. The Chef was patient as he showed me how to prepare a traditional Moroccan dish (chicken tagin with salad), and Es-Seddek, the gentleman who supervised and served as a translator during my cooking lesson was extremely kind and pleasant during my stay, which is a testament to the management of this Riad. When traveling away from home, everyone wants to be treated with tender loving care, and the staff at this establishment understands that assignment! Thank you Darif's Riad for making my time in Fes such a memorable experience!

We spent four nights here with my whole family. It is a really beautiful riad and excellent service from Ahmed and his ‘family’ (the whole crew is one big family). Nothing we asked for was too much. We would definitely recommend the riad to everyone!

Darif's Riad is a serene and comfortable place to make your home base while in Fes. Service is wonderful and friendly. The property is beautiful and has great ambiance. The only negative was I found the breakfast and one dinner I had there to be lacking, I was expecting better.
