A superb hotel with a great staff. William and Muhammad in the front office were fantastic. Kenneth in the restaurant was excellent. The breakfast was very good. The hotel grounds were very beautiful. My room was very big and the decor was very nice.

We were warmly greeted by staff upon arrival. Which was very delightful after a long flight from Australia. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous, modern, clean and spacious. The sheets were soft and pillows fluffy. Great location, close to restaurants, children’s play centre, ******, beach, bars and night clubs. The hotel has security guards present round the clock. The restaurant was fantastic, with a huge range of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner and drinks were terrific. The view from the restaurant is spectacular. The staff were professional, helpful and friendly and the manager was kind and accommodating which made our stay extra nice and enjoyable. Thank you for a brilliant stay.

The second time was better, we loved the airconditioned room in the terrace restaurant. In spite of political curfew they did their best for the service not to decline, It s a real oasis in Freetown. The staff is nice and helpful, we felt they need more staff in the kitchen and to write the orders down, they don t know who order what and they take so much time. It is important to write everything down when meals are ordered from a group. But the meals are of very good quality. Thank you all

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to family and friends. The staff were extremely attentive whilst being discreet. We took advantage of the pool and ordered snacks from the restaurant. The room was an excellent size with modern decor. Whilst the hotel grounds was picturesque.

The hotel was a peaceful and beautiful getaway from the more intense city life. The room was spacious with a kitchen and living room, and a large bedroom with a very comfortable bed. The staff were all welcoming, helpful and professional. The gym was top notch with all the equipment you will need. And the pool is amazing.

New hotel in Freetown, which I’m told is better than any others in the city. Absolutely fantastic pool, and really good security and ground staff. Good breakfasts. Great to have a desk. Note that the claim to a private beach on the site is false. The reason for non 5 star review is that when doing travel logistics, uncertainty and anxiety is constant - and a hotel should relieve not add to them: airport shuttle driver didn’t arrive, credit card machine not working for check out, invoice not ready (adding to time-stress). The restaurant is ok but I suspect many guests will prefer to walk to the sunset-side of the bay to eat.

Disappointing Where do I begin? From the advertising and pictures, The Lead looks amazing but in reality my stay there did not match the type of service and experience they claim to give. Who wants to stay and pay for an executive suite when the hotel is still under construction? I sadly did. Firstly, this hotel claims to have beach access and when I asked I was told “ there is no access to the beach it’s dirty now and not ready yet”. It is all false information and there is absolutely no beach access. I saw the beach from a locked cage that was placed there. I was fooled by their instagram a social media posts and that was the first red flag. Secondly this hotel has room service which is a plus but sadly the food is more near to airplane food. The food is extremely salty and the breakfast omelet is not from fresh eggs it’s powdered and microwaved ( why I likened it to the meals served at airplanes). The meat, chicken for that matter, is imported and not even local meat/products are used . Who wants to eat imported frozen meat why not just use local fresh products? The food menu extremely boring and simple for a 2 star hotel. My biggest issue is that this hotel gives off the perception that it is not accommodating for African or local Sierra Leonean guests for that matter (the food menu is entirely western food without even one local African cuisine on the menu). I didn’t feel anything African or a hint of the local food/culture at the The Lead Hotel which is in the be
