As a world traveller, I love to share with fellow travellers photos of my adventures. But in this instance, I am compelled to also share my hotel stay at Quinta Jardins do Lago, which was exemplary. The accommodations were lovely: sumptuous interior design replete with tastefully appointed furniture and artwork, overlooking beautiful gardens; all rooms had balconies to enjoy this spectacular view. And the comfort of the kingsize bed was divine. Even my three year old granddaughter slept like a log in the crib they provided! You're surrounded by elegant botanic gardens, varied, lush and aesthetically designed, with identifiers of most plants. The gardens are also home to a sixty-six year old tortoise named Colombo, from the Galapagos Islands, who brought endless fun and wonder to everyone. The dining experience added another superb dimension to the enjoyment of this fabulous hotel, from the delicious breakfast, buffet and "to order," to the sumptuous dinners, prepared by talented chefs. Not only is all the bread baked on premises, including morning croissants and multi-cereal rolls, but even the ice-cream is artisanally crafted at the hotel. The menu was tastefully varied, complemented with an intriguing wine list. And finally, the staff couldn't have been more welcoming: so friendly, helpful, and engaging. I heartfully thank you for making my stay at your beautiful hotel so comfortable, enjoyable, exceptional and memorable.

A true 5* experience. This hotel is quite possibly the nicest I've had the pleasure of staying at. The service is impeccable, the hotel immaculate, and the gardens simply beautiful. My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our wedding and it couldn't have been more perfect. I highly recommend this hidden gem if you're looking for a luxury getaway! Special mention to the resident tortoise Columbo who made our stay all the more memorable. We will be back!

I cannot speak highly enough of our stay at Quinta Jardins do Lago. From the moment we arrived and were given the warmest of welcomes, to the minute we left and were waved off in our taxi, we were made to feel special. The staff here clearly take pride in everything they do. Everything is performed with a smile, and without the stuffiness you get in some establishments. As for the hotel, beautiful! Gorgeous rooms where every need has been met, including a generous fruit bowl on arrival, and the gardens are just stunning. The pool area was delightfully peaceful, and you can't mention the gardens without mentioning Colombo, the resident Galapagos tortoise! 🐢 Finally, the food; delicious! Suffice it to say, my clothes were a lot tighter on the journey home. I will definitely be returning to Quinta Jardins do Lago in the future.

My wife and I returned to Quinta Jardins do Lago for the second time and we were even more impressed with this fabulous hotel. Every member of staff was charming and enthusiastically made our stay extra special. All the accommodation is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The food is excellent. The gardens are a delight to explore and the pool area is an ideal place to relax. An outstanding hotel in all respects.

This was our sixth visit to this hotel and the standard of service is still first class. We had a lovely junior suite this time and had the added bonus of a walk-in shower, which we really appreciated. The staff are excellent and go out of their way to help. The food we could not fault and congratulations to the chef. This is a truly special hotel and we do hope to return again very soon.

I felt like I was a member of a royal family during our stay. The staff could not have been more polite, helpful, humble and efficient. Our room was maximally comfortable with a lovely balcony, fresh fruit and water replenished as needed and a very comfy bed. The room and hallways were quiet and the entire facility was impeccably clean! I think they must vacuum every 2 hours! The lush gardens were a welcome treat and the pool area felt like a tropical get-away. I used the small gym and enjoyed by visits to “Columbo” the resident 66-year old tortoise. I would highly recommend this property. Some high-end hotels can feel pompous but this was not the case at all! We were treated like royalty, but felt at home.

What a truly fantastic hotel. Best choice we could have made. Beautiful grounds fabulous room and the best service we have had in a hotel for absolutely years. Nothing is too much trouble. Lovely smiling staff who just want to look after you and make sure you have a fabulous time. Breakfast outside on the terrace was such a treat. All in all a perfect and relaxing place to enjoy Madeira.

The reviews on TripAdvisor are absolutely accurate . The Hotel is beautiful, very classy, clean everywhere. The room is very big, well equipped, clean . The bed comfortable. We had a nice balcony looking the stunning garden, and the breakfast terrace. The garden is spectacular . The breakfast is more than ok. You can find everything you could wish for, even like chia seeds…, also can order various warm dishes. We rented a car wich we parked in the closed parking lot, ( no extra charge). The area is quiet, no noises at all. We had one dinner on our arrival date, it was very tasty, the restaurant is nice. The staff was amazing, very helpful, kind and nice. I would definitely come back !

There aren’t enough superlatives for this wonderful hotel on the beautiful island of Madeira. The service is absolutely fantastic from the management down and all the staff always go above and beyond. The Quinta is set in the most amazing and well-tended botanical gardens and we love walking round them every day, always spotting new things. The half board set menu is varied and delicious every night. Breakfast is a combination of a fabulous buffet and hot dishes cooked freshly to order. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with excellent housekeeping. The pool area is relaxing and always spotlessly clean with no problem finding a place to sit. The shuttle to and from town is useful and the reception are always helpful with advice for days out etc. We have already booked again for our 7th visit next year and can’t wait!
