I strongly advise against staying at this hotel if you are looking for a genuine 5-star experience. Despite its classification, the level of service and overall management are far from what one would expect from such a property. The director is unprofessional and rude, often mistreating the staff, which creates an unwelcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel. One of the most disappointing aspects is the parking: guests are charged €40 per day for a public parking lot that actually costs only €15 if accessed directly. This feels like a clear rip-off. The food offering is equally poor. There is no real restaurant, even though the hotel has been open for more than two years. The few items available, such as the so-called “focaccia di Recco” sold at €25, are frozen products prepared not by chefs but by porters, bartenders, or even receptionists. This is unacceptable for a property that claims to be 5-star. The only real value of this hotel lies in the beauty of the historic building itself, which is undeniably charming. But beyond that, the high price is absolutely not justified by the quality of the services provided. In conclusion, Palazzo Durazzo does not live up to its promises or its advertised luxury status: questionable management, inflated prices, and poor quality. You are much better off choosing another hotel in the area where hospitality and transparency are truly valued.
