We love coming here its the best location we have ever found we have been coming here for years and spent thousands of pounds coming and totally fell in love with the place the children even call it there second home… The staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome swimming pool all day every day is amazing kids love this… play parks for younger kids tennis court with free use of tennis bats what more could you want! You dont even need to leave resort to have a great holiday…Games room also on sight. BUT BUT BUT unfortunately over time we have noticed the lodges and swimming pool going down hill but we are just a normal family with no high expectations in life BUT the last time we visited October half term we found the lodge disgusting with dirt and i mean disgusting!! Our view from lodge window/conservatory was onto a dumping ground!! A mean wooden lodge in woods shouts peace and romance not a dumping ground!! The swimming pool and sauna was just as bad! A think steam room conditions keep its self clean thats why that looked not bad… Games room had nothing to play apart from giant 4 in a row… Pool table was all smashed with missing balls and balls flying out of hole in side and flying across room! Surely this is out of order!!!! kids used to love playing pool for £1… No board games only jigsaws with missing pieces tv and dvds great BUT tv didn't work and dvd cases were empty!! Laundry room is fantastic spending 5 days with young kids is great as can not possibly bring there hole wardrobe and very well priced as well and even get powder on sight amazing BUT was there in October and the place was also very dirty floors covered in spilt powder, window sill gross! Sign states empty filter before use shouldn't it state empty filter after use. I wouldn't dare leave my lint for someone else to clean out! Reception staff spend long hours in the complex area why is nothing getting done about this? This place could be thee best place in Scotland but its wasted with lack of effort or maybe money getting put into it, its so sad to see this wonderful place going down the pan… and i think we have been totally put off this time to the point we wont be returning… We dont ask for alot in life but when you save money for these treats you expect cleans and not dumping grounds.

Just returned from Lochanhully, was notified 1 week in advance of arriving that pool was closed due to refurbishment, we were advised that we could you Speyside which is a 7 mile drive away, with 2 young children in tow not suitable. Cabins require updating especially kitchen, missing crockery, frying pans, had to throw out scrambled eggs x 6, as coating came away from pan, vacuum cleaner discusting, bathroom, bath plug hole full of scum, requires to be replace or at give a good clean. Maybe think about checking cleaners work. On the plus side great location and friendly / helpful staff

My grandparents bought a timeshare here 35+ years ago, I went as a kid (loved it) , and my 2 oldest went as kids (loved it) now, this year, my youngest did too. Priceless memories have been made yet again. The staff were amazing, so friendly. Kathy, Gina, and Lauren were brilliant with our son, always making time for him when he would pop in. Our days won't be the same without our visits from Penelope, the resident peahen, and the ducks/ducklings. Our walks round the Lochan, with the ducks chasing after Thomas, the afternoon swims with a pool to ourselves, and our mushroom hunts. We don't drive, so we were limited to the resort, we weren't disappointed. It was a good amount to fit into the day. Yes, the cabins could be updated a bit more, and I think the bar area would benefit from doing some family entertainment at night. All in all, though, we had a fantastic time.

I have just returned from a week stay at lochanhully resort (25/7-1/8). To say I am disappointed at the lack of detail in Mcdonald lochanhully site, trip advisor and *********** with regards to the restaurant, bar and facilities is an understatement. We arrived at what was thought to be a rather late check in of 5pm. We were looking forward to unpacking then going to the bar/restaurant for a drink and some food. After all the first review on lochanhully site through Trip Advisor says the food was 'amazing'. See below. Imagine our surprise when we were told the restaurant and bar were shut indefinitely and had been for quite some time. Our plans had to completely change and not yet knowing the area and being tired after a reasonable drive, we were not prepared to walk for around 20-30mins into carrbridge. Whilst we made plans we were hoping the children could go swimming but again were told it was closing in 15 mins! It was the same answer for tennis. In fact, we soon discovered that the whole resort closed down at 5.30pm - gym, pool, tennis in addition to having no bar or restaurant. We planned our holiday to be busy during the day and then relax at night. This wasn't possible as we either had to drive or walk for meals. Also there was nothing to do on site after 5.30pm. Other than a games room with a pool table amd board games. This was always busy due to lack of things to do. I have rechecked various sites advertising lochanhully - Mcdonald resorts, trip advisor and *********** and they still advertise bar and restaurant!!!!!!! Signage in the site has directions to the bar and restaurant. See below. If I had known this was the set up then I can guarantee I would NOT have booked at lochanhully. It wasn't cheap and there were plenty of alternatives. The accommodation was suitable, if a bit dated. The bath kept filling up during showers (fixed by handyman) and the cistern made dripping noises for 15mins+ after flushing the toilet. There was a sign in the cupboard saying not to touch the drain valve so this was obviously reported previously. The staff were always very friendly and helpful and that is why I have given 1*. I have messaged the manager direct and was told that in the documents I am told of closures. I also see others were caught out so i dont know where this is written.

I have never done this before as I am not one to drag a business, especially during covid times, however I felt compelled to register with this site to warn others of this accommodation. If we had looked at this previously then perhaps it would have saved us the disappointment. When we first arrived we quickly came to realise that the cottages -which a more of a crumbling, spider Web filled shack - were not as advertised. Perhaps these pictures on the website are from another site as our woodland cottage looked like nobody has entered it since 1971. Except from the bugs which were waiting for us in our bedsheets. We understand that a certain amount of creepy crawlies are to be expected given it is in a woodland area but this surely would not have occurred if the bed sheets had been changed? The kitchen area has ample storage space but this is unnecessary as the cupboards contain nothing. There were a few plates but these were also unecessacry as the lack of cutlery and pans suggests that eating in the lodge is not in the plan. That would not have been a problem if the restraunt was open. We were informed that it has been closed since April but this is not advertised when booking which seems like poor business. The local village only has a kebab shop for takeaway options, thank goodness for the local spar. Spoke with reception to try and resolve the crockery issue which would have been an easy fix but nobody bothered to follow up on these issues. Very disappointing as this was our first holiday after covid. Poor show Macdonalds, try harder.

We have recently returned from a weeks stay with our dog.Just 7 miles from Aviemore and 27 miles from Inverness it’s ideally situated to explore the local area and beyond. We loved Lossiemouth and Nairn, the beaches were fantastic and lovely places to stroll around. There are many places to walk your dog.we found 2 fantastic trails in the grounds of a big house. The resort is very well kept and the duck pond was a pleasure to walk round with the dog, lots of baby ducklings to see on the way. The lodge was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly. There was a tennis Court and a swimming pool, which we didn’t use with our do with us. We would definitely return again.

The lodge was nice but dated. Everything is in the lodge that you need although could be better with more kitchen pans and trays. On arrival we were given a sheet with all the details and opening times but on the sheet it said the bar and restaurant were closed for our stay…no explanation for why this was. Tried to go swimming with 2 young children but were told the pool was too cold so we weren’t allowed in even though they have the insulated body suits. If we knew the facilities were unusable we would’ve not booked and gone for an AirBnB.

Great location and surroundings (kids loved seeing the ducks every day), staff was super friendly and good kids club and pool facilities Mattresses could be doing being replaced/upgraded as not the most comfortable to sleep on. Dame with the sofabed couch it's a bit uncomfortable after sitting a little bit. Generally clean though I did have to eive some crusty old food from under the dining table when me checked in!
