Château Saint Gilles

Lovely hotel, with such a warm friendly atmosphere. The dinner was super, breakfast has a lovely choice of food. Everyone made us feel at home and relaxed.

The atmosphere was very relaxing and location was just perfect for visiting the beaches of Normandy and enjoying the surrounding sites and culture, including Bayeux. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall, a perfect place to stay and feel at home.

Not only was the Chateau the most well-appointed, up-to-date, beautiful place we've ever stayed, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We would highly recommend!!!

3 night short holiday. This hotel is absolutely lovely. Beautiful building and extensive, well kept grounds. Everywhere has tasteful style, the bedroom was an excellent size and very very comfortable. Dinner each night was just fabulous and something we very much looked forward to at the end of a busy day sightseeing. Big plus - the restaurant is open to hotel residents only so gives a very relaxed atmosphere. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Ideal quiet location but close to many tourist sites such as Bayeux tapestry, D-Day beaches etc 4* for value just because 19€ for breakfast does seem a bit much for buffet style but having said that it was all very fresh and tasty.

The hotel has magnificent grounds, perfect get away to the country. Loved the beautiful accomodations as well and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Staying at Chateau Saint Gilles was a delight. Everything was excellent, staff was courteous, helpful and knowledgeable, our room was spacious, especially the bathroom, and clean. Breakfast was very good with homemade bread and jam. Mike, the owner was there every day and could not have been more accommodating. It was a wonderful experience.

The location is outside of the town of Bayeux however with a car the serenity and privacy is a real plus. Would definitely stay here again!

We visited Bayeux for a day trip to experience a DDay tour. We are sorry we weren't staying longer because this hotel is charming, beautiful and a perfect destination. We were a family of four and enjoyed the grounds. It would be wonderful for couples as well, especially the massage and sauna options. The staff were all kind and English speaking (which was helpful). We ate an amazing dinner (order the famous beef for 2) with wonderful wine and great service. The decor is superb and our room was spacious. It was the perfect mix of traditional with modern details. Will go back again next time we are in France and stay for days. About a 5 minute taxi to train or town center which cost approximately 12 Euro (for 4).

We had an amazing stay at this gorgeous hotel. The grounds were immaculate— we enjoyed the hot tub, sauna, and delicious breakfast buffet. The rooms were beautifully appointed, and the staff was amazing!
