My son, his friend and I stayed in the Haleakala suite in December 2021. Two bedrooms, full kithcen and living area. Very quiet and clean. Had a nice tray of breakfast foods and snacks when we arrived, clean linens, towerls, beach chairs, beach towels. They also have laundry facilities which was awesome. Went to Haiku Market to stock up on food and cooked, ate in and were able to use cooler provided to pack lunches. Enjoyed using BBQ to cook and eat outside at night. Since it was December, any good snorkeling was on the South or West side of Maui and that was a minimum 1 hour drive to get to. This is not the fault of the hosts; I should have really thought about whether it made sense for me to do that much driving versus staying on the West side where I could walk to snorkeling in December. Since I have chronic pain issues, the driving to get anywhere was too much for me. My son and his friend are also gamers and our internet did not work when it rained and I heard a lot of complaints about this. Folks who are not addicted to being on computers (or who do not need access to email 24 hours per day like I do for my job) will not care about this at all but I am sharing our experience. We did enjoy see turtles basking on local beaches and went on a lovely visit to Haleakala where it had snowed. If you want to see places along the Road to Hana, then this is an ideal place to stay. Since it is so quiet, I would suggest that perhaps hosts leave some board games in the suite for folks to use.
