A wonderful location, ski in and ski out. Perfect for our first time at Hukaba. The owners and staff are all so willing to chat and make your stay the best time ever. Easy to access shuttles to other resorts. We are so grateful for the help that they offered when one of us was injured. Including staff coming to get us from the clinic back to chalet when shuttle bus was delayed. The rooms are huge and comfortable for a week long stay. Drying room and equipment storage easy and secure, as well as laundry washer and dryer facilities for house guests. Did I mention the food, Austrian delights!

I don’t normally write reviews, but our stay at Marillen was so good I just had to. The location is second to none, truly ski in ski out, right next to the lifts at the Nakiyama. The rooms are cosy, albeit, our bathroom was small, but functional. But the service is what left such a great impression. Bernd and Naoko are really special people. The minute we arrived, they made us feel incredibly welcome. They are always in and around, speaking with the guest and you can tell they genuinely care. The staff take their lead and it makes your stay top notch. The restaurant is great, especially good is the Pork knuckle, just share it between three, as it’s massive! I will definitely be back, and it’s such a special place to stay when you visit Hakuba/ Happo One.

The location of the hotel is excellent for the beginners and family with children, you have everything on the door step, and easy walks to the Centre and access to Onsen. The staff are amazing, especially Joe who drove us to the ski school in his car when the shuttle bus was running late.

This magnificent hotel is beautifully located on the slopes of Nakiyama at Happo-one. The decor is very tastefully Austrian, including the adjoining Bernd’s Keller where we enjoyed breakfast and many dinners. Our hosts Naoko and Bernd provided generous warm welcomes every day. All the staff echoed the same lovely atmosphere, well taught! We stayed for 11 nights, and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Marillen and in the Hakuba Valley, that despite an injury preventing skiing early in our stay. If you are coming to the Hakuba Alps, stay here!

This is the absolute perfect hotel for ski in / ski out in Hakuba!! The staff are super friendly and the owners, who live on site, are always there to help. They even offer a free to use washer and dryer which is a huge help when you are travelling around Japan before or after skiing The location provides easy access to the village and all of the local restaurants.

Great location right next to ski lifts, easy access into town and to complimentary Onsen facilities at an associated hotel. Fantastic food to keep you going on the slopes. Bernd and Naoko and their staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful, no request was too much for them.

Outstanding hotel. Rooms are very.comfortable and multi lingual customer service is outstanding. The breakfast is one of my favorite experiences. My favorite is the ski-in ski-out location amenity. Plenty of restaurants, bars and shopping in walking distance. You can’t beat it. The place sells out quickly, so book early. Enjoy.

You take your chances on snow conditions, and for the most part we were in luck! But where we lucked out the most was the superb hospitality offered by owners Bernd and Naoko who went out of their way to make our stay memorable: THANK YOU! Location is as close to the slope as is possible and an easy walk into the Happo village. Reminiscent of a German mountainside hospiz, we highly recommend it! Mark
