"The hotel's service was excellent, the views were great, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. It was also very clean and tidy. The host was incredibly warm and friendly. Plus, during the ski season, you can ski in and ski out! Highly recommend this place; I'd definitely choose this hotel again if I come back to Hakuba Goryu for skiing."

"We do really love this hotel. It’s on our special occasion and they contacted us prior to arrive if we want to have cake. They also arrange a hand written card which is very cute. The room is spacious with nice decoration, room also have a kitchen and dining area with ding tools. Staff is very helpful and friendly, we planned for a cherry blossom but it’s too soon. She recommends us for a nearby town with full bloom period. I can’t remember her name but she’s great. For next time in Hakuba, we’ll surely stay here again!"

Restaurant & Hotel Traumerei Hotels in Hakuba

"The hotel has a great location. It's in the center of Baima Village, making it convenient to go to any ski resort. There's a shuttle bus right outside. We drove, so we didn't take the shuttle bus. The hotel staff were very friendly, and they offer free laundry service. We stayed for a week and did laundry twice; we dropped it off the first day and picked it up the next day. The hotel's hot spring is also very nice and private. Each room has 50 minutes of access; you just need to book in advance. Breakfast can be delivered to your room, which is also very convenient. The only downside is probably the poor Wi-Fi."

Hakuba Mominoki Hotel Hotels in Hakuba

Hakuba Mominoki Hotel

"Stayed late June to see the stunning Itawake view. No skiing, just soaking in Hakuba’s nature. Hotel was peaceful, surrounded by trees — perfect for relaxing walks. Staff were friendly and super helpful. Room was clean, a bit small for what we booked. Breakfast was okay, mix of Japanese and Western. The onsen was the real highlight — so refreshing after a day out. Even without snow, Mominoki was a great base. Cozy, quiet, and welcoming. Would stay again."

Hotel la Montagne Furuhata Hotels in Hakuba

Hotel la Montagne Furuhata

"Do NOT recommend this hotel. We stayed in the annex building, which: Does NOT have any showers; Does NOT have warm water; Does NOT have a descent mens toilet; The entire hotel does not have working wifi. Even the bedsheets, pillows, etc. are worn out and dirty. In short: worst hotel i ever stayed in!"

Courtyard by Marriott Hakuba Hotels in Hakuba

Courtyard by Marriott Hakuba

"The Hakuba Hotel prices are generally on the higher side, but this one offers pretty good value for money. It's a room over 40 square meters, perfect for a family of four, with two beds and a tatami area. You just need to lay out the tatami futon yourself. There's a free shuttle to Hakuba ski resort, though the schedule is a bit limited."

Hatago Maruhachi Hotels in Hakuba

"This hotel promises a charming stay in a unique atmosphere with traditional Japanese architecture, and it absolutely delivers, if the goal was historical accuracy over modern comfort. While the interiors have technically been “renovated,” the experience feels more like a living museum exhibit titled “How People Survived Before Electricity and Heating.” There is no central heating and only a limited number of portable heaters are provided. Similarly, the dry room is inadequate being an outside structure with a literal barbeque as the heating device, a recipe for wet ski gear. Lighting was also minimal. Cleanliness, unfortunately, took a creative direction. The number of cockroaches found was hard to ignore. One even took the liberty of crawling across a pillow, which was an interesting way to be welcomed. For a country renowned for world-class hygiene, this was a truly unexpected cultural experience. On a good note, the staff were polite and unfailingly apologetic. Sadly, they appeared to be very junior and entirely unable to resolve any issues, serving mainly as emotional support. In summary, perfect for travellers seeking a dark, cold, and spontaneous insect encounters. Anyone expecting warmth, cleanliness, or basic comfort may wish to look… literally anywhere else."

Mizuho Chalet Hotels in Hakuba

Mizuho Chalet

"Overall, our stay was enjoyable, and the chalet matched the photos. However, I’d rate it 3.5 stars due to poor value for the peak-season price. Check-in instructions were unclear, leaving us to search for our villa in the cold. There were no manuals for the heater, boiler, or washer, and the boiler kept turning off unexpectedly. The concierge was attentive, but these issues dampened the experience. These manuals / improvements / attention to detail should be easy fixes for the management company, but a major oversight for a company that prides itself on hospitality."

"The location is very good, just near Happo-one, parking is also convenient and spacious, the front desk service is very enthusiastic, and introduced the ski resort's evening business hours. The lobby lounge is cozy, but the public bath is not very good. I hardly saw anyone using it. I prefer to go to the nearby Happo-one Onsen for a bath. It is cheap and good."

"I really loved this hotel. The design is charmingly antique, and it's spotlessly clean. The parking lot is right outside, and the whole hotel gives off a lovely resort-like vibe. I'd definitely stay here again."

Hakuba sun valley Hotel ★★★
"The hotel was undergoing renovations, so the exterior wasn't very appealing. Getting around Hakuba during the low season required using a local train, which is infrequent, but the hotel staff were very kind and gave me a ride. During the winter, there are buses running throughout the day, so it's important to research transportation options beforehand. The hotel food was delicious, filling, and impeccable."

Wakata Lodge Hakuba ★★★
"Our stay at Wakata Hakuba Lodge was truly wonderful from the moment we arrived until check-out. We arrived early, together with another couple who were also waiting for their room. Mr. Lu warmly welcomed us and provided plenty of helpful information about the area. As we had time before check-in, he kindly offered to drive us out so we could have lunch and explore the surrounding shops and cafés. This thoughtful gesture immediately made us feel well taken care of. We had the hotpot dinner during our stay, and it was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we even ordered extra chicken! It was a very satisfying and comforting meal. Unfortunately, our train departure was very early, so we were unable to try their Japanese breakfast as it is served at a fixed time. However, the kindness did not stop there. The driver who sent us to the station noticed that we had not had breakfast. Since we were leaving early, he kindly contacted the kitchen to prepare some toast for us to take along. We were deeply touched by this considerate gesture."

"This was a very impressive place to stay, especially since we booked last minute and had never stayed in a guesthouse before. The price was very reasonable, and breakfast was included. The owner, Mr. Asahi, took excellent care of us. I was very impressed and will definitely stay here again if I visit Hakuba."

Hotel la Vigne Hakuba by Onko Chishin ★★★★★
"Service was in general good. Most staff can speak English and were very helpful.  We booked their teppanyaki restaurant but due to a member being sick, we cancelled it one day ahead.  However, we were then being told that there is a 50% charge which was not explained to us when we made the booking.  After some back and forth, they finally agreed to waive it.  Appreciated that but it was a hassle.  The apartment is nice and juices and water were included in the fridge.  There's no onsen nor swimming pool nor a gym in the hotel.  Breakfast was good with lots of varieties.  Location is excellent within walking distance to the Main Street in Echoland where most restaurants are.  Hotel provides shuttle buses to Happo One and Hakuba 47.  "
