Lovely environment, charming areas, modern and chic. Big and beautiful gardens. Accommodation standard is super. Big room, fresh and clean. Good service by personel. Beach in connection to hotel. Several pools. Food is top notch - even for a vegetarian like me, good options, different restaurants. Very happy.

What a lovely surprise arriving at The Sindbad Hotel in Tunisia. It's a beautiful location with both rooms and bungalows available. All the trappings of a five star hotel. Amazing views, a number of swimming pools to choose from, its own beach and restaurants that serve the most delicious and varied food I've ever come across. All the staff were delightful and a special word for the maître d in the Sheherazade who could not do enough for us and whose English was fluent and who we enjoyed having a laugh with. I have visited some of the finest hotels in Europe and can guarantee that The Sindbad was just as good if not better. Definitely going back.

Had a lovely stay at the Sindbad Hotel for 4 nights. I had a beautiful view from my balcony, the room was large and clean, the only downside was that my shower was not sealed properly so did leak a little. Breakfast and dinner were good, some wider vegetarian options would have been nice, though I do appreciate that these might be in less demand so may not be a priority. Staff were wonderful, particularly Hafhad, in the restaurant who was very kind each morning and evening when I went for my meals. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back again for longer!

The hotel is clean and some staff were excellent, but this is not a genuine 5-star experience. The Positives: Our room was spacious, with a big shower, bathtub, good water pressure, plenty of towels, bathrobes, and slippers (though no conditioner). Beds were very comfortable. Housekeeping was excellent, and Salwa left lovely towel creations daily. The main pool, managed by Khalil, was a real highlight – well organised and friendly. Staff overall worked hard, especially Hafedh in the main restaurant. Money exchange at the hotel matched airport and ATM rates. We also found a nearby shop for cheap drinks and a fast-food restaurant called Cute (5–8 min walk) where meals cost around £5 each – the same price the hotel charged for a plate of chips! The Negatives: Buffet food was poor, repetitive, and often had flies. Once items ran out, they were rarely replenished, and there were no à la carte options despite the EasyJet deal stating this would be available for four nights. Drinks were hugely overpriced (12 dinars for water vs. 1 dinar outside) and not provided with half-board dinners. The beach was beautiful but overcrowded, and front spots were reserved for “VIPs.” The infinity pool had nowhere to leave belongings. Taxis refused meters for short trips: 10 dinars to Hammamet Medina (approx. £2.50) and 20 dinars to Yasmine Medina (approx. £5), but drivers often tried to overcharge on return – just say no and they usually agree. Market sellers are aggressive – nothing is priced, and initial quotes are ridiculous. Tips for Future Guests: ✔ Bring bottled water or buy from local shops. ✔ Eat out – we enjoyed Le Barberousse, Le Pecheur (Hammamet Medina), and Cute (5–8 min walk) – much better value than hotel food. ✔ For shisha, avoid the hotel charge of 60 dinars; at the Medina it is 16–21 dinars. We enjoyed shisha and tea at Sidi Bouhdid. ✔ Stand firm with taxi drivers and market sellers – negotiate hard. ✔ Bring conditioner (not provided). ✔ Avoid booking excursions through the hotel – they are a rip-off. For the price, we expected far better. Hardworking staff and cleanliness cannot make up for poor food, high costs, and preferential treatment of certain guests. Despite this experience, I would go to Tunisia again, as other guests advised not to let this hotel put me off.
