The Silk Lakehouse, Shangri-La Hangzhou

Based on the former Hangxiang East Building, the hotel underwent a major renovation. Opening this year, the Shuizhixinju is poised to quickly become a strong contender for Hangzhou's luxury hotel scene. Located on the shores of West Lake at the foot of Baoshishan Mountain, the hotel's maximalist Rococo style incorporates local elements. The décor, dominated by the emerald blue of the sky and water, is a refreshing departure from Hangzhou's established hotels. Attention is paid to detail, maintaining a consistent tone and atmosphere from public areas to rooms, making the experience even more stunning in person than in photos. For dining, the Western restaurant offers afternoon tea and drinks in addition to main meals. The restaurant collaborates with the Miaoqian Group, which this year ranked among the top seven bars in the world. The Chinese restaurant specializes in Zhejiang cuisine (mainly Ningbo cuisine) and features a tea room specializing in Chinese tea. The rooftop terrace, which is not fully open to the public, offers panoramic views of Hangzhou's West Lake. The wellness center features a standard gym and swimming pool, whose Balinese-inspired design makes it a photogenic spot. Although the basic room is only a little over 40 square meters, it's beautifully decorated, and the upgrades are generous. The attention to detail, from the soft and hard furnishings that match the main color scheme to the custom amenities and hairdryers, speaks volumes about the meticulous renovation. The entire room has been upgraded with smart technology, maintaining the luxury feel while also offering added convenience. The newly opened hotel also generously provides various benefits and experiences, making it a truly worthwhile experience. With its prime location and luxuriously renovated hardware and software, this hotel is more than just a photogenic destination; every detail has been meticulously thought out. It's a truly worthwhile stay, and I look forward to seeing it continue to improve. :)

It was such a comfortable stay that I couldn't help but want to share it 😘😘😘From the moment I drove to the entrance of the new building on the top of the mountain, a receptionist jogged all the way to guide me to the parking space and took a picture of the license plate. I didn't have to register myself at all. Such a meticulous and thoughtful reception service 👍👍👍The entire public area and room of Shui Zhixinju are decorated in a European style with a very rich and luxurious feel. The aesthetic enjoyment is extremely strong. The details of the room are handled very attentively. The breakfast is semi-buffet. There are not many things, but the quality is excellent. The staff are soft-spoken and warm. I ate comfortably, just right 😘😘😘I met the gentle Manager Hu, who sincerely took me to visit the rooftop garden. The hotel staff really added the icing on the cake for the hotel's luxury. I really want to share Shui Zhixinju with friends and family 😘😘😘

The front desk was friendly and efficient, with quick check-in and check-out. The concierge was attentive and helpful, proactively helping with luggage and providing accurate local information and transportation recommendations. Room service was also responsive, clean, and respectful of guests' privacy. The rooms offered comfortable bedding, excellent soundproofing, a well-planned layout, a great view, and modern amenities. The entire hotel is tastefully designed, with a grand lobby and clean, odor-free public areas. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, the restaurant elegant, and the room service fast and high-quality. The gym was well-equipped, and the pool clean. The hotel's location on the shores of West Lake offers a tranquil setting amidst the bustle, with views of Leifeng Pagoda and Jingci Temple in the distance. The overall experience exceeded expectations and, despite the price, was well worth it. A special thank you to the handsome young man at the front desk, who wore braces and provided helpful information and excellent service throughout the entire stay. Thank you also to Manager Jia.

Before my trip, I happened to search for this newly opened hotel. I booked it because it was my favorite style. I personally feel that it is very suitable for staying here in the summer. The environment, facilities and services are all beyond my expectations. The warm, meticulous and thoughtful service of the welcome ambassador Vanessa, the front desk Iris, the restaurant waiter, and the pool security guard (I forgot their name, sorry) made the whole trip comfortable and reassuring. The welcome gift, the Yixiang Corner, the swimming pool, the breakfast, the afternoon tea, and the intangible cultural heritage experience are all very unique. The hotel's location is also very good. I went to the rooftop terrace to overlook the beautiful West Lake. The shuttle bus can also take you to the Hangzhou Fan Wharf for a boat ride, which is very convenient. I highly recommend it when visiting West Lake!

The hotel's front desk (Yulia) was excellent, welcoming, and had a fantastic service attitude. Laura was enthusiastic, efficient, and responsive to almost every request. Darren, our colleague at the Travel Ambassador, was also very welcoming and provided children's toiletries and slippers in our room. The hotel is close to the West Lake scenic area, making it very convenient to get around. The balcony overlooks the lake, and the overall experience was very comfortable, which the children also loved. The breakfast was very satisfying, and I especially recommend the soy milk and fried dough sticks. Overall, the experience was excellent and very satisfying. I'll definitely stay at Shangri-La Water Inn again when I visit Hangzhou!
