The room isn’t spacious, but it’s well-suited for a solo stay, with smart use of the limited space. The city view from the high floor is pleasant. There was some noise from trains coming and going at the station right in the opposite side of the hotel building, but it wasn’t too loud or disruptive. However, the breakfast options were quite limited and remained nearly the same throughout my 3-day stay.
This boutique hotel is located in a secluded alley near the Temple of Literature, and was a charming place where you could experience the local atmosphere of Hanoi. There are many local restaurants and small shops scattered around, and you can experience the lively local life in a quiet environment. The hotel itself is small but cozy and has a calm atmosphere. It is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing stay while experiencing culture and history.
The Vietnamese staff were very friendly and made my stay comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff are an important element of any travel destination, and being able to feel the local warmth is also appealing.
The female receptionist's leering glance at the guest was the first thing that made a bad impression. Instead of smiling and looking straight at the guest, she glanced at the guest from head to toe. The bed sheets were dirty, and the female receptionist ignored the guest's request to change the bed sheets. The guest waited without any notice or response. After being asked many times, 2 housekeeping staff rushed into the room to change the bed sheets with an unpleasant attitude, if you didn't know, you would think they wanted to kill the guest. A good hotel in terms of facilities and services, but the attitude of some departments is not up to standard.
I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights.
The room was large, with a huge bed. The windows overlooked the alley. It was noisy one night, since there was a bar nearby. I asked to change the room, but of the available rooms there was a smaller one and its windows overlooked somewhere in the courtyards (not a great view), so I decided to refuse and stay in this room.
I can't say that the room was perfectly clean. For example, there was dust on the lamps. I also noticed that they did not wipe the ventilation (the grate was dirty). However, for me it was not critical.
They cleaned every day, changed towels every day, and there was always bottled water, tea bags and coffee (all this was free). The shampoo and shower gel had an amazing smell. The bathroom was clean.
However, the room itself was morally outdated. It should be updated. Also: half of the sockets in the room did not work, and the lighting was also poorly adjusted.
The breakfasts were buffet style. Breakfasts were delicious, excellent, no complaints.
The staff is polite and smiling as usual.
The hotel is located 10 minutes walk from the Temple of Literature. The airport is 30 minutes by taxi. The center (old quarter) is 15 minutes by taxi.
Overall, you can stay here, not the worst choice, but I think that either the room stock needs to be updated or the prices for the room need to be reduced.
Overall, the price of 520+ a night is not worth it, and the cost performance is poor.
The food is not very good, the facilities are old, and the WIFI is weak.
The only advantage is that the room is relatively large, but if you live alone, it is not necessary.
+ The hotel was recently renovated, giving a nice look from outside. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cleaness was good.
- Otherwise, almost the amenities inside are old. And the biggest negative point for me is that they have only one lift (for about 30 room x 3 floor).
