A cosy, small hotel, with an unrivaled ambience and a 5 star view to the valley. The personnel is friendly and always ready to help, the rooms are little worn, but spacy, the windows large and clean. The breakfast was excellent, local fresh bread, a variety of cheeses, hams, plenty of yoghurt, musli, jams and even a small cake. You can sit outside during the day, there are tables and chairs around the hotel. Dog friendly place if you plan to bring your furry friend along. All in all, a home away from home with a kind, welcoming staff. The best, it’s a 15 min walk to the schloss and the Altstadt.

The hotel is located above Heidelberg and is quite difficult to reach by car. Unfortunately, there aren't enough parking spaces. The rooms are dated but adequate. The breakfast buffet was very good and plentiful.

When we drove to the hotel, my family and I were very excited about the beautiful location. However, as soon as we got to the room, we were disappointed. The room was rather mediocre; the towels looked new but had stains. There was mold in the bathroom. In general, the entire room was very old and run-down; there were large stains on the furniture and the mattresses were very worn. The breakfast was okay, but nothing special. The staff weren't particularly friendly, more indifferent. It's a real shame, because with such a stunning location, the hotel had real potential. It was okay for one night, but for more, I'd rather stay somewhere else.

The hotel is a pretty villa in a very quiet area. The breakfast is OK but not better than Ibis standards. The real problem was that room 35 smelled very unpleasantly of sewer or drains. They were obviously aware of this because the windows were open despite the cool temperatures. When I pointed this out to reception the next morning, I got a rather tortured smile. So they knew, but didn't apologize. You can't expect guests to put up with that and I don't need to do it again.

The rooms are shabby and do not meet the requirements of a 3-star category at all. When we opened the business room we had booked, we were hit by a strong musty smell. We had to air the room for over 30 minutes. After asking reception where you can turn on the heating in the room, I was told that you cannot turn on the heating. It would switch on automatically at a low temperature. With an outside temperature of around 10 degrees Celsius, the radiator was not switched on all evening. Important: Don't forget to bring a thick wool blanket with you when booking. The shower curtain was the highlight - it certainly does not correspond to category three of a hotel in Heidelberg/Germany.
