In May 2022 we looked at booking a two week holiday for July 2023 and saw the Verde Hotel on the Love Holidays website. We've been to Içmeler many times before but never stayed at this Hotel. We knew of it when it was previously called the Idaş Park Hotel and before that, the S-Hotel. Although the Verde Hotel was not the cheapest all-inclusive hotel in Içmeler, it was far from being the most expensive. So we thought we'd give it a go, and booked it! Then we read the Tripadvisor reviews! OMG, what had we done? It was a long year worrying whether we'd booked the right hotel? On our arrival at the Verde Hotel, at 2am, we entered the lobby. Although we were very tired, the crisp, fresh and spacious appearance of the lobby gave us a 'Wow!' factor. We were welcomed by an English speaking night porter who, wearing a white shirt with the Verde logo on it, looked smart and professional. Under his direction, check-in was efficient and he secured Verde Hotel all-inclusive bands to our wrists. Finally, he accompanied us to the lift, to floor 3 and to our room! A room key resembling a credit card unlocked the door to our room... our home for the next two weeks. Although our room was well appointed and clean, it was not the largest hotel room we've stayed in. The room had a double bed and a single bed, which reduced the floor area a little but as we used the single bed as a large table to lay out our possessions, it didn't upset us. On this point, although the room had a safety deposit box we didn't use it choosing instead to leave expensive electrical items on the single bed. These items were never touched by cleaning staff let alone taken. Some may say this was foolish, but we had complete confidence in the hotel staff that our possessions were safe. The beds were very firm, we like a firm bed, and looked new. The room had a tv, but we never used it, a safety deposit box, which we also didn't use, a kettle with sachets of tea and coffee, we did use these... but took our own kettle as we couldn't see one mentioned on the Verde Hotel or Love Holidays website. During past holidays to Turkey we've often bought bottled water as it's not recommended to drink the tap water. However, to our pleasant surprise bottled water was left daily in our room for drinking and making tea and coffee. Inside the bathroom there was a hairdryer, a walk in shower with glass screen - no tatty shower curtain - and a toilet. Good quality thick curtains were drawn over the net curtain behind the sliding door onto the balcony. Drawing back the heavy curtains the next morning, we discovered we looked out south west from the balcony, that is away from the sea towards the Old Village. It meant the balcony was in shade in the morning, a cooler temperature for an early cup of tea in the morning... so we did!!! The condition of the Verde Hotel building and the professionalism of its staff bore no resemblance to many of the reviews that have been written about it on Tripadvisor
