"There are more small animals in the yard, but our trip in those days was very fast. We got up early. The landlord’s breakfast was delicious. It was great to park in the yard."

"It should be said that it is a homestay. At the end of a small road on the right of the post office, there is a large yard with free parking. The lady who received us was very enthusiastic and made breakfast for us every day. Basically, we had breakfast at 8 o'clock in the morning when we checked in Only to see her, friends who came late can check in by themselves as long as they read the name of the person who made the reservation on the door of the room. Papaya for breakfast is delicious. Very close to the Volcano Park, 10 minutes by car. There is a good Thai food around the hotel. On the first night, the starry sky we saw in the courtyard of the hotel was not as good as that on the top of the stargazing mountain, so there is no need to come back so late. Hahahaha The price/performance ratio of this hotel is quite high. This area is still a bit cold at night. We bought a car ticket for 30 dollars to go to Volcano Park. You can still enter and leave by ticket the next day. It is a pity that many landscapes in the Volcano Park are closed now, so I can't see it anymore."

"This is a very distinctive hotel, received us as a very kind old lady, the service is very good. It feels like a villa, very quiet, surrounded by woods, and shared hot springs. The villa is up and down, there is a shared hall, a bucket of mineral water is placed in the room, the password opens the door and the room door, the room is quite big, the facilities are also complete, it is to see if you like this old style. Breakfast and dinner are very special, I like this style very much."

"Accommodation on the Big Island of Hawaii is very expensive. It is difficult to find a good and cheap hotel near the Volcano National Park. The only choice is the B&B. Do not think that the B&B is a single-family villa. This is not a home in Australia or Hawaii. Very expensive, the price you see, you can only rent a room in the villa, the kitchen and living room are to be shared with others. This lodge is less than a hundred years old. It is difficult to find. The place to check in is not together with the lodge, and you must see the check-in time. If you miss it, people will get off work. The staff will give you a map, clear. Tell you where the hut is, or give him the navigation directly. He will help you enter the coordinates, which is easy to find. The hut is about 1 km from the studio and drives very fast. The car can be parked in the open space at the door, the cabin is very clean, the living room is heated and the ceiling fan is on. It seems that the temperature difference between the mountains and the forest is very high. There is also a Chinese family who stays together. It’s just that everyone can chat and not feel restrained. The room is not big, the toiletries in the bathroom are very complete. Fortunately, the upstairs room is on our family. No one shared the bathroom. I have already said that this house has been said for a hundred years. It can be kept like this. It is already very good. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby, you have to drive out, the price of the supermarket is a bit high, it is better to solve the dinner directly in the restaurant, breakfast can be bought in the supermarket, so the kitchen of the wooden house is useless. When you check out, just throw the key directly into the door mailbox and someone will clean it."

Hotels in Volcano
Lovely new 2 level island style home, beautifully furnished, built in the middle of the only native tropical rain forest in the country. Dr Stephen Tarek a recently retired Chiropractor lives quietly upstairs in a separate unit and is available for all immediate needs. As all homes in the Volcano area are somewhat remote, this is also a good security measure. Ground level of home has 2 private bedrooms with new queen beds and luxurious duvet comforters and bedding. Living room has a very comfortable sofa bed full size. There is also an Aero full size bed with all bedding. I am adding an extra bathroom and bedroom off to a small area beyond the back of the home. There will never be work on this when guests are booked. Only between bookings. One large bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and shower. All wood floors and ceiling fans with gas fireplace and beautiful full chefs kitchen with all new Samsung appliances and washer/dryer. Large lotus pond and 2 private covered patios (lanai) with seating. Long desk looking over pond to comfortably be on laptop. Closest home is 400 ft away through the forest, so no next door barking dogs or roosters. Extremely quiet and peaceful, unique and a fully Hawaiian experience. Perfect for those who want to explore and hike in an upper elevation tropical rain forest. Not really the place for loud late night drinking parties. Children are welcome. But. Please note that there is a fish pond with no fence around it. The home is furnished more on the high end with real wood floors and all white duvet covers, linens and towels. Children and teen agers bring a wonderful energy to any home and so far have been great to have here. The home is not exactly "kid friendly" with antiques and artworks that can be pulled down if the child is over active. If this is the case there are many rentals that are in the area that would be a better fit for you if your children are super active. "NOT TO MISS" Big Island Attractions: Volcano National Park hikes and Big Island hikes in general (host can suggest best as there are many); Boiling pots waterfalls; Akaka Falls; City of Refuge in Kona; Hilo town, Hilo Saturday open market, Liliokalani Japanese Gardens/Coconut Island; Volcano open Sunday market; Beautiful drive on highway 250 from Waimea to Hawi and then on to Pololu Valley (great view place and/or hike down to beach/valley) Beach may not be safe for swimming; Honokaa town and Waipio Valley. Beautiful drive from Pahoa to ocean in puna is approx. 2 miles out of Pahoa off highway 130 to 137 called Kama'ili rd. / Opihikau rd. (two names), when at ocean turn right to Kahena beach, most beautiful black sand beach on big island. Entire coast here is a magnificent drive and around 20 min from south to north end without stopping; Beautiful drive between Akaka Falls and Hilo has two names: Scenic Route and Old Mamalahoa hwy. The Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden is on this road and can be used to GPS the drive. There is a hiking trail next to the garden that goes to the ocean; Beautiful drive from Volcano to Kau desert trail. This trail is usually dry when it is raining in Volcano area. There are Hawaiian warrior footprints in the lava here; Kahena black sand beach (clothing optional and busy on Sundays when there may be 6 konga drums and dancing on beach); Two unique and beautiful swim areas near Hilo are Richardson's Ocean Park (small black sand beach here, be sure to walk past the lifeguard stand, and Carlsmiths beach park are two beautiful and unique swimming/snorkeling spots near Hilo with turtles: Hapuna Beach is a wonderful long white sand beach with crystal clear water and sometimes great bodysurfing. It is usually sunny and dry (best early or after 4pm and on weekdays for less people). The City of Refuge (Pu'uhonua O Honaunau) and Kelalakekua Bay are not to miss and are in the most beautiful area of Kona. So many guests plan with online information that is outdated or not accurate or maybe posted by another tourist who was only here for 2 days. This causes many to miss the best parts of the islands and/or waste their valuable time. Please note that the upstairs of the home is a Private area. Also, the best hiking and walks are at the Volcano Park but some guests walk in the neighborhood. Please don't walk to the right beyond the home as it is a private road. Owner is happy to give recent information on the Volcano National Park, hikes, waterfalls, stargazing, beaches, restaurants/shopping. Unless a short answer it is usually better to call owner ( Steve ) to discuss your plans. 8087213418 It is hard to make suggestions without asking questions of the guests itinerary and this could cause the owner to text and type books. Talking is much easier and faster.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.Please see house rules. A Fishpond with no fence..About customRules:Quiet hrs are from 11pm to 7am. SSHUYANYou can feel the wooden house in the forest; the location is near the National Volcano Park, deep in the forest; there is a small parking lot, and there is a small cart and luggage to the room; the hotel has 5 small villas, self-check in ,check out. Breakfast is two slices of toast, two boxes of milk, and a small plate of fruit. The room has a refrigerator, oven, microwave, coffee machine, and kettle. It’s very cold at night, thanks to the fireplace in the room, There is an electric blanket on the bed; the room I live in cannot accommodate an extra bed. The room is round, surrounded by forests. I didn't see the staff at check-in or check-out. During my stay, I only encountered a cute tabby cat at the front desk of the hotel.

LLANVery beautiful homestay, it’s a pity to stay for a day, I should stay for a week Surrounded by forest, no walls, very natural environment, fresh air, breakfast in the refrigerator beforehand, there are papaya, banana, pineapple, and several pieces of cake The room is clean and beautiful, with a lot of towels, ample space, living in the master room, next to the Office, and gift shop Although the check-in time is from 2pm to 5pm, but even after the time, there is its own check-in guide at the door. The staff who received me were very helpful and asked my name to take me to the room. The Wi-Fi is great, the parking space is free, everything is very convenient, and the location is also good. If you want to go to the Volcano Park, it feels like it will be there in ten minutes!
