The location is superb; Gulou (Drum Tower) is right across the street, and it's incredibly convenient for shopping and visiting the ancient city. The subway station is also close by. I booked a room with a mahjong/card room because I wanted a king-sized bed, and since it was too hot to go out during the day, we spent our time indoors – it even saved us the cost of renting a mahjong room elsewhere. The butler service was also very attentive and responsive to all our requests. The entire guesthouse offers a quiet escape in a bustling area, and it's quite spacious. The decor perfectly embodies a traditional Chinese aesthetic."

"I was drawn in by a viral video and booked two nights at the Huayang Plaza Hotel. The service was indeed good, and snacks were provided every four hours. However, a hotel is primarily for *staying*, and the 20-year-old outdated facilities really wore me out after one day – two days was just too much… I decisively switched to Marriott. A big brand is a big brand, so comfortable! Breakfast was the best meal I had on this trip. If I hadn't been pressed for time, I would have loved to leisurely enjoy another cup of coffee. The quality of all the food items was excellent, showcasing Marriott's longstanding commitment to quality. I felt like the two days I spent at Huayang were a complete waste… I had a deep sleep thanks to the comfortable pillow. Before checking out, I asked Amanda, the lobby manager, about it. I added her on WeChat, and to my surprise, she helped me find a new pillow! It turns out I could purchase it, and she immediately sent it via SF Express to my friend. The five-star service is truly impeccable! Late at night, after returning from Longmen Grottoes, I wanted to ask about good food options. A super handsome young man named Oreo recommended some local grilled skewers. Honestly, when he mentioned grilled fish, his pride for Luoyang and his genuine enthusiasm were so heartwarming."

"The room was clean and tidy, and the front desk staff provided excellent service. I had some work commitments and wouldn't be back until around 5 PM, so the hotel proactively extended my check-out time until then. I'm very impressed with their service; it made me feel right at home."

"A Charming Old Town Homestay in Luoyang: Beautiful but with a Few Quirks! This is a beautifully renovated homestay nestled right inside Luoyang's ancient old town. If you are looking for a place with local character, this is a wonderful choice, though there are a few practical things you should know before booking. The Cons (Things to consider): The Location/Access: Because it is located deep within a narrow alley of the old town, large cars and taxis cannot pick you up or drop you off right at the doorstep. You will need to roll your luggage for about 400 meters to the main road. 🧳 The Breakfast: They serve a very traditional Chinese breakfast consisting of millet porridge, fried dough sticks (youtiao), and vegetable steamed buns. While it tasted good, it was a bit salty, and the menu was exactly the same every single day without any variation. The Pros (Why I still loved it): The Room & Vibe: Our triple room was incredibly spacious, spotlessly clean, and the entire courtyard was beautifully decorated with a lot of taste and local charm. The Hospitality: The owner and the staff were absolutely amazing—super enthusiastic, warm, and helpful throughout our stay! ❤️ The Prime Location: Being situated inside the old town means it is exceptionally convenient. You can easily walk to all the major historical sights and the vibrant Drum Tower (Gulou) Night Market for amazing street food. 🏮🍢 Overall, despite the minor inconveniences with luggage and the repetitive breakfast, the massive rooms, lovely aesthetic, and unbeatable location make it a fantastic base for exploring Luoyang!"

"I chose to come to Luoyang because I saw the hotel's promotional video. I chose to come to his house. I was really not disappointed. The room was big and beautiful. The new hotel had no taste. The service was very intimate and I had nothing to say! Next time I come to Luoyang, I will choose his home. It is a pleasant hotel."

"To be honest, Luoyang International completely exceeded my expectations. It truly deserves its five-star rating, from the service to the hardware facilities. I'm so glad I decided to upgrade to an executive room upon arrival; the experience was absolutely fantastic. Every single staff member at the lounge was incredibly kind! I honestly found the lounge food to be delicious! Happy hour consists of a self-serve buffet and à la carte main courses. That hot and sour Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles, in particular, was amazing!!! So, so good! I ate it two days in a row. However, I did find the afternoon tea mini cakes to be a bit average and not quite to my taste. Cocktail hour in the evening was also a big hit. The bartender, Ethan, was exceptionally friendly and kind! His name is Ethan, and he's really a wonderful person! The cocktails he made were perfectly to my liking. He even mentioned he taught himself how to make Mojitos, haha! And he kept saying he wasn't confident in his bartending skills! But I thought they were delicious! Truly, really delicious!!! No exaggeration, seriously. Every single staff member in the lounge was absolutely wonderful! I've had such a fantastic time these past few days! If I had to mention any downsides: Firstly, the fried food issue. The fried items at breakfast were soggy. I tried the hash browns again on the second day, and I wondered why they seemed so crispy – turns out they were completely dried out! And the whole batch in that warmer was dry. I think the hotel's heat lamps could use some adjustment; it felt like there was no heat under them whenever I went to get food, which might affect how fried items are kept. This was also an issue with the fried items in the lounge – very soggy. Secondly, the hotel doormen. I feel like this was a bit hit-or-miss. On our first day, when we arrived, there was a doorman at the entrance, and we were the only car there, but he was on his phone. He was a young man with glasses. I'm not sure if he was dealing with work or something else. We had to call out to him when we couldn't manage our luggage anymore before he came to help us. The second night we returned to the hotel, there was no one to greet the car or assist. However, on our checkout day and the young man who helped us change rooms were both exceptionally good! He seemed to be an intern and was incredibly proactive and diligent in everything he did! Many thanks to this young man! I regret not catching his name. The cleaning lady was also excellent. Thank you to every staff member at the hotel! I will definitely choose this hotel again! The service truly impressed me! Especially every staff member in the lounge! A big shout-out to the lounge team! Thank you all! I had a wonderful time in the lounge these past few nights!"

"This is a good choice when I made my booking to an unknown city. Location wise so near to main attraction such as Louyang Ancient City. It does not sit exactly in the main street so you have to walk a bit roughly 200m inside. With luggage maybe found bit difficulty as uneven stone pathway to the hotel. Though this should not dampen your mood for staying here. I got ground floor. I guess those without balcony were given groud floor. It have high floor to ceiling window/sliding door facing the main pathway. Can't really open the curtain then everyone pass though will see you. Upper floor should not have this issue. There this side upright chair/cusyen where one can just sit and lounge around eating all the snack one just bought outside the street. TV is big I do not have time to watch any. I think tis the subscription version. All necessary amenities is available. 🤷 There's washing machine but only operational 10am to 10pm and I didn't have time to use it. Ground floor may have issue with sound as I can hear upstairs things moving around but I'm so tired from all day walk so this just temporary nuisance. All in all I highly recommend this place if the area you intended to visit is around the hotel."
