"A surprisingly good hotel! From its exterior and name, it looks like an old-school five-star hotel, but the rooms have been renovated and are quite new and spacious. Every staff member I encountered was incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and professional—on par with Haidilao's service. They even provided complimentary desserts every night. When checking out, they prepared portable teacups and tea leaves as a parting gift. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shantou."

"This was my nth trip to Chaozhou, and once again I chose to stay at Nanyi. The location is excellent, right at the beginning of Paifang Street, and there's an underground parking lot, which makes getting to the lobby from the B1 level very convenient. The room has a balcony where you can sit, drink tea, and chat – very comfortable. The room was clean, and all the necessary toiletries were provided, especially the shower with great water pressure. Chaozhou is definitely a place you can explore and eat at tirelessly. I look forward to coming back again!"

"The past few days in Chaozhou have been scorching, with temperatures at 36°C and a 'feels like' temperature of 43°C – absolutely sweltering! The hotel thoughtfully provided an extra power card, so every time I returned drenched in sweat from exploring, the best part was being greeted by a blast of cold air and a chilled bottled water from the mini-fridge – pure bliss! The reception area also had a fridge stocked with plenty of complimentary bottled water, which was a very nice touch. Inside the room, there were some local Chaoshan snacks, which were quite tasty. When I inquired where to buy them, the hotel even had an auntie bring us more to sample – I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel is only about 100 meters from Kaiyuan Temple, making it incredibly convenient to walk to attractions like the Ancient City, Guangji Bridge, and Xima Road. I even walked to Guangji Bridge three times in one day and didn't feel tired. There are also plenty of food options and souvenir shops nearby. The room was spotlessly clean, and the pillows were very comfortable. The lovely ladies at reception and the cleaning aunties were all very warm and provided excellent service. Because the heat was so unbearable, I decided last minute to have lunch at the snack shop right next door. I ordered Chaozhou braised platter rice and pig offal kway teow, and to my surprise, they were incredibly delicious – tasting just like traditional home-cooked Chaozhou food. The pig offal kway teow had a light flavor, and for only 15 yuan, it was packed with ingredients; adding black vinegar elevated the taste even further. This hotel is definitely worth recommending!"

"The hygiene, environment, and facilities were acceptable, but the service was poor. When checking in, I asked if there was a razor in the room, and the front desk said yes. However, when I got to the room, there wasn't one. I called the front desk to ask for one, but after half an hour, nothing happened. I called again, and a different staff member said they would follow up. Another 20 minutes passed, and it still hadn't arrived. I had to call the front desk a third time to chase it up, and it finally arrived after more than an hour's wait."

"Growing up, I always thought Overseas Chinese Hotel was a very high-end place. I never imagined I'd get to stay there for a business trip, and it was even better than I expected! The hotel was built in the 1980s, so the exterior looks a bit dated and the ceiling height has the limitations of that era, but the interior decor is truly top-notch. Don't let the building's facade mislead you.
It has a rain shower, and the bathroom floor is made of wood with a hidden drain, so guests don't see the drain opening. The mattress is very comfortable, the pillows are a bit soft, but all the other amenities are great.
I want to particularly commend the staff's service – they are incredibly warm, thoughtful, and have a proactive service attitude. When I checked in, they enthusiastically recommended local Shantou culture and tourism spots (though as a local, I didn't need it). The room card sleeve was thoughtfully designed, and they seriously took my feedback. I personally believe this adds a lot to Shantou's tourism, and friends from out of town can definitely stay here with confidence!
There are many established local eateries nearby, offering a wide variety without repetition. The transportation is also very convenient; it's right at the beginning of a main road, yet it's not noisy. Walking straight down Changping Road leads directly to Long'an South Road, MixC Mall, Danxia Zhuang, and other famous food destinations. Turning from Changping Road onto Zhongshan Road and Waima Road will take you to Xiaogongyuan. As a local, I genuinely recommend this location; there's no need to pay high prices for hotels in Xiaogongyuan, and for those driving, you can save a significant amount on parking fees alone.

"This hotel truly amazed me. I'm quite picky when it comes to hotels, but this was the best one I stayed at during my trip to Guangdong. It's a newly opened hotel, located in a residential area with plenty of local eateries, coffee shops, and bakeries nearby, and very close to Mixc World. The decor is beautiful, and despite being new, there were no strong or unpleasant smells, thanks to their fresh air system. The environment is quiet with no noise, and the rooms are spacious and come with a fridge, which is very convenient. While the entrance isn't grand (perhaps not fully set up yet), inside it's truly a hidden gem. The owner is a handsome young man, and both he and the front desk staff provided excellent service. They gave us welcome gifts, which were very practical. We booked two rooms, and the owner upgraded us for free, helped us with our luggage, and even recommended local food streets and specialties. Anything we needed was delivered very promptly. The cleaning staff were also very friendly. There's free parking available, which is very convenient. My absolute favorite was their wireless makeup mirror – I immediately ordered the same one to be sent to my home! This is a genuine and honest review, hope it helps everyone!"

The hotel's location is great, with convenient transportation nearby. It's a 10-minute walk to Nan'ao Island, and you can take a direct bus. There's also the Zhujiang Road night market nearby, and a oyster pancake place there has really good taste. The Xiaogongyuan scenic area is worth a visit to see the ancient city's charm. My only regret is that whenever I left the hotel, I'd always smell a sewer odor, which was unpleasant 😔

The service was excellent; each room comes with two complimentary coffees and a mini-bar. After checking out, we realized we had forgotten a backpack for our next leg of the journey. The front desk staff braved the rain to deliver it to our car – we were so grateful! The facilities are comprehensive, clean, and hygienic, and the hotel is conveniently located next to a food street. Highly recommended!

Exceeded expectations in every way! I was a bit worried at first since it was our first time staying in a local hotel in China instead of a big chain hotel, but it turned out to be surprisingly good.
We were warmly greeted by the staff, who explained everything we needed to know, and they were very considerate and helpful throughout our stay. The service was professional, and the cleanliness of the place was excellent. If you’re looking for a place within walking distance of the old town cultural area, this is absolutely the place for you!

Plus, parking is a breeze and it's free, which is a huge bonus for female drivers like me. The front desk lady even gave us two complimentary breakfasts! The room itself was brand new, the TV had screen mirroring, and the shower pressure was fantastic. I consider myself pretty picky when it comes to hotels, but honestly, I couldn't find a single fault with this one. You can book it with your eyes closed. If I ever go back to Shantou, I'll definitely be staying here again.

The room is a loft, and the interior design is quite good. As soon as you open the door, there's a large floor-to-ceiling window offering views of Shantou Bay and Dahao on the opposite shore, with the Haigang Bridge to the left. The toiletries provided are of decent quality. I checked in on a Friday during a normal week, and the value for money was pretty good. There are electric scooters downstairs that you can rent by scanning a code, allowing you to travel quite a distance. It's only a few kilometers from here to MixC Mall, the ferry, Longyannan, Xiaogongyuan, and Zhujiang Road. Oh, and two breakfasts were included too.

The staff scheduling is very thoughtful; the morning shift has three lovely ladies who are gentle and patient, while the evening shift is handled by dedicated staff. Breakfast deserves a special mention – the 'kuey teow' (flat rice noodles) was amazing. The food selection is comprehensive, clean, and hygienic. The bedding in the rooms is neat and comfortable, and the parking lot is spacious with plenty of spots, so no stress about parking. The lobby has a pleasant aroma, and the air conditioning temperature is just right. Even the public walkway to the affiliated BBQ restaurant is meticulously clean, with no grease or stains, showing excellent attention to hygiene details. My stay here was fantastic, and I highly recommend this hotel to all my friends in Guangzhou!

My parents, sibling and I stayed for a total of 3 nights in their 4 pax room.
It’s a beautiful and tastefully decorated accommodation with personal courtyard and interior. Bed and duvet were so comfortable especially in the chilly weather of 18 ~ 22 degrees. I didn’t spot anything obvious I can complain about regarding the cleanliness of this place, hence 5/5 for cleanliness.
Location is perfect (5/5). Next to streets of food places that have good ratings, and super near 万象城 shopping mall (restaurants, luxury shops, retail and more). Anyways cabbing around Shantou is really convenient, fast, and affordable. Even though it is nested amongst other tall residential area, once we close the door we couldn’t hear much noise from outside.
Service is 5/5 as well. There’s free pickup and drop off serviced from the railway station. There’s daily fresh fruits delivered to us, as well as chicken soup. There’s also free laundry service which we really appreciate! Staffs were always ready to help and always ready to give recommendations. We really felt their hospitality and they are genuine in providing best service possible.
Amenities is 5/5 as well. The hair dryer is Laifen brand which is so strong and sleek looking. They provide disposable towels on top of those reusable towels. Their slippers are fluffy and comfy. They have like everything we need.
Bonus: Their residential cat and her kittens are adorable!!!
All in all wonderful stay and would stay again if i ever visit Shantou again. Suggestions for improvement: (1) more variety in breakfast options (stayed for 3 nights and felt that some breakfast options would be great), and (2) the shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner are a little too hard to pour out maybe can consider using press bottles.

This time, I brought my child along, so I decided to stay in the county town. First, let's talk about the location. The B&B's location is excellent, with free parking available. Although it's a short walk, it's manageable. Right downstairs, you'll find various restaurants and bubble tea shops. It's practically the Houzhai CBD, very convenient. The only minor drawback is that the hot water is very slow; it takes a long time to come on. After communicating with the owner, they explained that the pipes are long, and you need to let the cold water run out before the hot water arrives.
Now, let's focus on the B&B's hygiene and service.
The B&B is located in an older building, but the rooms are all new, and the hygiene is exceptionally well-maintained. It's clean and odor-free, which already surpasses many B&Bs. Furthermore, the attention to detail is excellent. Right outside your room on the same floor, the owner provides various daily necessities (dental floss, rubber bands, hair clips, razors, makeup remover wipes, etc.). So thoughtful!
Regarding service, the owner led us to the parking lot on an electric scooter. We hadn't checked in yet, and the owner helped us transport our luggage to the B&B. When we checked in, our luggage was already in the room. My child had hives and scratched their skin until it bled a bit, getting some blood on the sheets. I proactively asked the owner if I needed to pay a cleaning fee, but the owner didn't charge anything. What a generous gesture!
The off-season price is also very affordable. Overall, for a 207 RMB B&B, I'd give it a 90 out of 100. The 10 points deducted are in hopes that the owner can improve the hot water facilities. We'll definitely come again if we have the chance!

XiaowachengyoutingI'm a regular guest at this hotel. The hygiene needs improvement, especially in the hard-to-reach corners. The room is quite comfortable and offers great value for money. It's about a 10-minute walk to the food street where you can sample Chenghai delicacies like braised goose, which is really delicious.
