Tumen Hotels with Wifi

"We paid the difference at the front desk because they had mistakenly booked the wrong room, and we were upgraded to two 1.5m rooms. The room was quite large, and while the facilities weren't as new as those for a newly opened hotel, I personally thought they were acceptable. There are about two or three street parking spaces in front of the hotel, but the front desk told us that most of the marked parking spaces are free… There's a restaurant street next to the hotel; there's also a morning market in front of the hotel; and there's a supermarket downstairs next door with Korean and North Korean snacks, meat, ice cream, etc., at reasonable prices. The hotel is about a 5 RMB taxi ride from the highway border crossing scenic area."

"The hotel is clean and the location is excellent. It is close to the Tumen Morning Market, which opens between 6 and 7 AM. If you exit the hotel entrance and walk about 150 meters to the right, the morning market is located at the first intersection you encounter. There is a Cantonese-style changfen restaurant at this intersection that opens at 6 AM and sells changfen in the evening as well. The food is delicious. The porridge, soft tofu, and pancakes sold at the morning market are also very tasty. Do not go to the place selling honey in the middle of the morning market. For locals, they weighed the honey precisely to give 1kg in a small bottle and 2.5kg in a large bottle, but for foreigners, they charged the full price even though the amount of honey indicated on the scale was less. The hotel is close to the Sino-Korean Railway, the border marker, and the Namyangjeong Observatory, where you can view North Korea. However, please note that, separate from the accommodation registration completed upon check-in, foreigners are required to complete an additional registration procedure before visiting the Nanyang Pavilion Observatory. Korean tourists visiting Tumen should take note of this. (We didn't realize we had to register again at the tourist site separate from our accommodation registration, so we went up to the observation deck without completing the registration procedure in front of the entrance to Namyangjeong. Afterward, we were stopped and dragged down from the observation deck by an elderly man wearing a fluorescent vest who spoke fluent Korean. I don't know the reason, but please note that while being escorted to the Public Security Office, the old man turned on a video app to continuously record our conversation and secretly filmed us. My legs ached and it was hot during the 30 minutes we stood and were interrogated at the office, so after completing the registration procedure, we did not go back up to Namyangjeong and returned to our accommodation. To avoid the same predicament we faced, please stop by the Public Security Office before going up to the Namyangjeong observation deck.) If you do not want to be stopped by security at Namyangjeong, go to Tumen River Park instead. You can see North Korea from there, albeit on a smaller scale. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the hotel to the park. If you buy ice cream at a shop, you can briefly view the North Korean scenery through the shop's binoculars. If you take Bus No. 9 (2 yuan) from Tumen North Station and get off at the final stop, Tumenkouan, the hotel is about a 1km walk away. (When searching for the route to the hotel on Baidu Maps, it suggests getting off at the next stop past Tumenkouan, but the bus driver says that all passengers must get off at Tumenkouan. If possible, please use Didi instead of taking the bus from Tumen North Station.) If you take Didi, the fare from Tumen North Station to the hotel is about 17 yuan. There is a water dispenser on the first floor that provides both hot and room-temperature water, so you do not need to buy bottled water."

The hotel is newly built, so the room facilities are very new, and the breakfast selection is plentiful. The parking lot is large with ample spaces, making it convenient for drivers. The border gate is definitely worth a visit; it's a unique experience."

"Stayed in so many hotels, the Shangyishu Hotel next to the red wall of Yanji Yanda really gave me a big surprise! Must seriously praise ～ [The location is absolutely] 1. Good parking, walk 5.6 to Yanda Internet Red Wall in minutes 2. Milk tea shops, barbecue shops, special Korean food around the hotel are all done in a few minutes walk, food and lazy people gospel ～ 3. The key is that the location is not in the noisy main street, and it is quiet when resting at night, and the perfect sleep experience."

The landlord was very kind, personally coming downstairs to deliver the keys. There was no elevator, so they arranged for us to stay on the fourth floor, leading two elderly people in their sixties up and down the stairs. A train would pass by in the middle of the night, which greatly disturbed the whole family's rest. We hadn't slept well the first night, and we needed to be energetic for a long drive that afternoon after checking out at noon. However, at 8:30 am, the landlord knocked on the door to ask for cleaning service. 💔"
