"First off, the hotel's design, including the garden and pool, is really comfortable and gives off a great Indonesian vacation vibe. The room itself is spacious enough, with two double beds, and we could even open our 28-inch large suitcases without a problem. My main complaint is that the bedsheets and pillowcases all had stains. I asked the front desk to change them, but the hotel refused. I'm starting to think this is a common issue with every hotel in Indonesia. The drain in the bathroom had a very strong smell. While showering, I kept smelling an odor from the drain pipe. The extractor fan didn't help, as it was covered in a thick layer of dust and couldn't operate properly. It even dropped dust, making the smell worse, so I just left it off. Both bedside tables were covered in dust. It seems like they only cleaned and made the beds, but didn't bother with the dust."

"Had to switch room, due to noisy kids running, jumping, screaming and crying, then you hear mom talking out loud and shouting, all the way till 12am, at 6:30am there awake and the whole story starts again… the second room was at the corner but the neighbor water pressure system seems to be installed right in between the wall on my bed, praying the whole night he can end up showering. It’s not the employees fault, the front desk lady. Camel did her best but overall the employees english was poor so it was hard to communicate. Plus, this is othe only hotel that doesn’t has a adaptor to borrow. The breakfast is decent and the waiter is always smiling and energetic. The location was okay with laundry, restaurants, local warungs nearby. Btw, having breakfast beside the management of the hotel helding their daily meeting was quite funny, when the meeting finishes the managers would greet you while cooking their own eggs at the station, hilarious experience."

"This time, I stayed on the second floor in a twin room. Everything was just as wonderful. The hostess provided excellent service, was attentive and helpful with everything, and was very considerate. The first floor also has a small kitchen area with a stovetop and dishes, a refrigerator, and a dining area. I dropped off my backpack and left without waiting for check-in time, as I wanted to explore the city. The staff kindly carried my things into the room. Everything was great and comfortable. There is one thing that really bothers me: the broken mirror mural. In our culture, a broken mirror is considered an unkind thing, and you shouldn't look into it."

"Good stay. Daily cleaning, helpful staff (some don’t speak English but they do their best to find someone who does), excellent pool, amazing breakfast (mostly Indonesian food). Our initial room had a zooming sound and a water leak in it and they promptly moved us to a new room."

"Really happy with my stay here! The room was clean and surprisingly spacious – plenty of room to spread out and relax. The bed was super comfortable with proper pillows, and having actual windows made the space feel bright and airy (not always a given in budget places!). Location is a big plus – within 1–2 km you've got a great mix of bars, bistros, and both Western and local restaurants, so you're never short on food options. Sultan Palace is also just a quick trip away, which made sightseeing really convenient. What stood out to me was the outdoor seating area – it's a nice spot to chill and chat with other guests. Most visitors seemed to be locals, which actually gave the place a more authentic vibe. But mostly locals are shy to communicate with expats. The staff were polite and helpful throughout, and amenities like AC, TV, hot water, and two free bottled waters daily covered all the basics. "location is good, if you love walking, then you can walk to Malioboro.. and you may find lots of food (street food or restaurant such as Hokben and Richeese) nearby by walking. in front of hotel, you can easily find convenience store indomart or alfamart. but this hotel so strict (how come?!) you must check in after 2pm, i was arrive 1pm and they just offer to keep our luggage and we need to go somewhere, even we were checked out at 6am for morning train. hotel can provide box breakfast with simple meal such as fried rice/noodle with egg, a cup of fruit (watermelon & papaya) and a bottle of water. when entering the room, so many hairs on the floor, like it never been swept, but too tired to ask house keeping to clean and no more wait anymore (sorry forget to take a photo, you may see it under the desk and surrounding). hotel provide water dispenser, so you can easily take by jug in your room."

Nice hostel. Good location social for backpackers.  I had a great time upon check in but extending my stay a lady at reception was blunt and honestly quite rude and unhelpful when I asked for advice.  The beds are cleans and the showers only some are hot but the staff already know this.

Locationally, it's really okay, it's close to famous places such as prawirotaman street, pizza slices and masama restaurant. so you can walk around the villa. for hygiene, quite clean, Just yesterday, I kept food in the room (bake & rice) was served :( very sad and the amenities are good, there are shampoo soap, brush and toothpaste, towels are provided too. Well, the service is also good, the packaging is set when we complain that there is a broken in the key, Finally it was fixed and got a change, I'll recommend this villa to others, thank you

I didn't like being in this gestahous. First - the owner smokes in the room and the smell there is already in. Everything was not very clean and clean. The room that is closest to the entrance was not comfortable. A little dirty. And everything that happened in the yard was heard - the sounds of the fairy tale, the conversations and the smells too. And as it turned out later, there was no hot water either. The owner and staff of Alice are very kind and try to maintain a good atmosphere at home and help - which is very important for the guest. There is water in the cooler for the use of guests, kitchen and refrigerator. The common area is pleasant with air access. But a little bit hot and there is a smell of moisture. Maybe the fan in the common zone would be by the way. Overall one night is normal. The price is acceptable.

Cool place to stay, with even cooler indie tunes permeating the space. It's a very relaxed, artistic environment that is well located to modern and traditional eateries; bars and cafes; and comes with a basic but spacious dorm room next to small private ones. The decor, music magazine covers and artworks complement the mood and outdoor pool area well, but the only downside is that parts of the public space are exposed to the elements, so you have to dodge droplets in the afternoon rain. The hot showers are truly drenching though 😌 Final note, the staff are friendly, speak good English and will invite you to join them at a night market or pub in the evening. Recommended for sure.

The place is nice. Price is reasonable and comes with breakfast. The toilet is simple with only cold water but it's hot anyway so that's ok. It's not a hotel, is a home stay, so the owner lives in the house. He is nice. If you want to talk it's fine, if you don't he won't bother you. It's a very nice house. I would recommend a bit more cleaning and arranging things but in general I liked it and would come back.

Booked the family suite. Would stay here again. Good: - spacious for two people - big clean bed with a good mattress - good air-conditioning - room amenities like a mini fridge and water cooker - very friendly staff Could be better: - fresher looking towels - more responsive water temperature controls in the shower. - a chef that stays in the hotel during breakfast hours (breakfast is from 7-11, but the chef left before 10) Bad: - Any sounds from outside are just as loud in the room (mosque, rooster) because the windows can't close properly. Earplugs are advised.

Dont understand who gave good reviews for this homestay, maybe they stayed for the right price sufficient for this small house. Not worth more than 80K. I prefer to not review if not for few unprofessional issues. While booking this place, the price changed more than a few times from rupiah 120 to 250k. I never seen like this happen online bookings. So, i did not book. Many hours later the priice was down at 120k again. So, i booked. Then, the owner sends twice long annoying emails and a shorter whatsapp message (attached herewith) asking for pre-arrival info, a very professional wriiten corporate style. I ignored since those just did not look right. Upon reaching the place - not a corporate guest house but a crampy old home, the owner came out slowly and then just talks to my wife completely ignoring me. He kept chatting. Not a likeable elder, a little tricky i felt.. The room was very small with a type of bed that is just good for a few hours sleep. No water bottles, tissues or new soap. Poor room lighting matched the purpose. In the night one someone plays the TV so loud right next to the room for a long time until i requested him to lower volume. Almost midnight a few guests were tslking so loud right there for a long time knowing we were sleeping. We left early the next day.
