A stay at The Dwarika’s Sanctuary is an immersion into an ancient Himalayan way of life, where timeless philosophies, Buddhist medicine, and Ayurvedic wisdom come together to inspire holistic healing, mindfulness, and longevity.
Nestled in the tranquil hills of Dhulikhel, just an hour’s drive from Kathmandu, and 6.1 mi (9.8 km) from Namobuddha Monastery and 25 min (9.5 km) from Panauti, a historic Newari town .This luxury wellness retreat overlooks breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas. Designed as a journey inward, the Sanctuary harmoniously blends nature, art, food, and self-discovery, offering a space where body, mind, and spirit are nurtured in balance.
At the heart of the Sanctuary lies the Pancha Kosha Himalayan Spa Village, where guests experience authentic Himalayan therapies guided by experienced Ayurvedic doctors, yoga masters, and healing practitioners. Signature treatments include Ancient Massage therapies, Buddhist healing rituals, singing bowl therapy and chakra balancing.
Mindful spaces throughout the retreat encourage stillness and reflection — from the 20 ton Himalayan Rock Salt House for breathwork and the Crystal Room for deep meditation to the Shivalingam Meditation Maze for inner clarity.
Guests can also enjoy a range of enriching experiences, including guided hikes to Namo Buddha, visits to Dwarika’s Organic Farm, and creative sessions. Meals are crafted from ingredients grown at Dwarika’s own organic farms, following the five food principles: local, organic, less-travelled, seasonal, and fresh. Buffet breakfasts are available daily from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM for a fee.
Spanning over 20 acres of forest and terraced farmland, the Sanctuary’s architecture reflects Nepal’s spiritual heritage while embracing sustainable design — featuring solar energy, grey-water recycling, and local sustainable materials. Each suite is individually designed using natural wood, stone, and local textiles, offering panoramic views of the Himalayas or surrounding forest.
With its philosophy rooted in wellness-driven hospitality, The Dwarika’s Sanctuary is not merely a place to stay, but a transformative experience — where ancient wisdom meets mindful living, nature heals, and the spirit awakens.
"The environment is very beautiful. I went there with my girlfriends. There are many courses in the hotel. The rooms can see the snowy mountains in good weather. We went in January and it was very cold. But the service was very good, I added a water bottle, and each person gave away a bunch of 108 bodhi."
