I write this review on my last night so it’s all fresh on my mind. Firstly the negatives: I wasn’t told the pool would be out of use for my whole stay, this was a contributing factor to why I booked this hotel, no compensation. Secondly I paid extra for breakfast every morning. The menu can be misleading and portions less than described on some selected. Coffee wasn’t the best, never served spoon, only if asking for sugar for my coffee. Thirdly I paid a lot for my room, noise was like a work site most of the day and music was continuously the same beat, Dj had no imagination, even the WhatsApp group asked where the party was. The positives: great location, nice yoga and meditation classes by lotta. And activities like sushi making class etc. My room was nice. But over all over priced. Won’t get a holiday for many years now, so some disappointment. Book the nice hotel up the road with a swim up bar.

I had a wonderful time at the Mayan Monkey Hostel in Isla Mujeres. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in countless ways. The location was ideal, right on the beach, so beautiful ! The rooms were luxurious and spotless, felt like being in a hotel. Plus, the food was delicious with a great variety of options ! You even have the option of renting a golf cart to go discover the island and restaurants around ! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a perfect place to stay by the beach in Isla 😊

Absolutely fantastic! Although the hotel was under renovation, it is a beautiful place, isolated from the hustle and caos from downtown. It is easily accessible from/to the port by cab or local bus. This magnificent place is surrounded by nature, which offers various activities during the day like renting a bike, snorkeling, etc. The food is very good and the price is average. I recommend the room with a sea view. Although the music at the beach club was on until midnight, you will find earplugs in the room in case the music bothers you. The other part of our group booked the ‘jungle room’ option however, for obvious location reasons, there was much more humidity. Thank you so much to the fantastic staff, for their friendliness and always being available and ready to help us during our stay!

Went here on my honeymoon and wouldn't recommend this place at all. Staff were extremely unhelpful and didn't really want to serve you if you were English. Our golf cart we hired off them fell to bits literally whilst we were out so we phoned them twice and they were absolutely no help so we had to push it back in 35c heat. They were rude but did offer us a refund. They asked for all of my bank details but 5 weeks later still no refund and I have had fraud on my account from Mexico since. Fraudenlty getting bank details, its more of a hippy camp when your arrive, I was the only one at the bar ordering a coffee in the morning and it took them 40 minutes of which I ended up just walking off. Not one for complaining but the lack of support they give pissed me off.

I had an amazing experience at Mayan Monkey! The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of flavors that left me impressed. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy. Special shoutout to Dany and Paola for their outstanding service! They were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect during my visit. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced the experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and excellent service!

Honestly no one will regret staying here. The staff from reception, beach club area, house keeping etc, are friendly and welcoming. The room smelled so good and was nice and fresh. The activities list was also amazing. Female solo traveler approved!
